I like the conversation in the background of someone talking about the car and days when the 2nd gen birds were popular. I especially love the Recaro seats and the wheels! All it's missing is a good looking set of headers.
Nice! I had a '73 Super Duty Trans Am (1 of 175 automatics/ 2nd owner) for about 25 years, putting about 20,000 miles on it. It was repainted black with grave yard scenes and flames on it, and had a mean street racing SD 455 rebuilt in it. I thank God that I didn't kill myself, and others, in it :) It was called "The Grave Yard Zam" :)
No It's not a real T/A. It does have OEM Trans Am fenders, hood, and fender vents. Nothing wrong with a clone that can embarrass a modern sports car in the mountains. No point in cutting up an original car. It actually started life as a burgundy firebird esprit with a vinyl top! I'm not interested in original. Just built for me and what I do with it.
Nice car. I too am building a Gen2 Trans Am, only I plan to use Poncho power. Is that a Tiger cage in there? How do you like it? Have you raced it? What size tires/wheels? Anything you'd do different? I've got 1 year under my belt on my PT TA build, and suspect it will cost a lot more than I think it will, especially with a fuel-injected Pontiac Ram Air V engine. More than likely, it will take me more than 7 years to finish it. The Gen2's make the best Pro Touring machines, in my opinion. I only wish I had started my frame-off back in the nineties, when things were cheaper.
Are those fikse wheels,,,that is what I'm putting on my 78 T/A,,,I'm building it into a pro tour to.mine gonna have a butler 501 in it,with an Art Morrison 4 link...I'm thinking cars like these are about the best to do pro touring with,,,VERY NICE CAR MAN ,,,I DIG IT
