Holly Valance the girl with towels was the prototype Margot Robbie, she was Australian actress who used to be in a Soap Opera that became popular in Britain like Margot Robbie did. Looking at her filmography, nothing really jumps out as a movie that focuses on sexual content as much as DOA. The most famous film that she took part in was Taken (2008). Exactly which roles of hers are you referring to?
Fun fact: The original Dead or Alive video game holds the dubious honor of being the first 3D game ever to animate both breasts on a female character jiggling independently rather than as a single unit.
Another fun fact about this movie: The character Ryu (ninja guy who works for Devon Aoki's character) is Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden games. The two series are in continuity with each other.
The fact that there's a romantic subplot between Hayate and Ayane shows the director did not do enough research, otherwise he'd know they're half siblings 💀

I’m a woman and yes, this movie is very exploitive, but what did anyone really expect? Movies based off video games are generally very “what you see is what you get”, for better or worse, and this is no exception. The fact it’s also such a product of its time is also a factor. It simply is what it is and you might as well grab a snack and have a laugh.
LMAO 2006. Yeah, that sums it up. You know I love how Hollywood was like "yeah THIS is what gamwrs wanna see!" and cut to 17 years later and The Super Mario Bros. The funny part is: that movie is free to watch right now on RUclips Premium
Eric Roberts played in kung fu movie
Best of the Best in the 80's.
Fun fact.
This was a guilty pleasure of mind watching this movie, I still like it but it was still bad but the good kind of bad lol.
Also fun fact for those who don't know: the main pirate that's leading the group was non other than Robin Shou who also was in another(or 2) fighting game movie back in the 90's called Mortal Kombat as Liu Kang.
She hit Eric Roberts with the Kiss of the Dragon? GTFO!!! Jet Li should’ve spontaneously appeared to whip all their asses. Also, please do a retro review of “Kiss of the Dragon.” That one is a definite high mark for martial arts cinema.
The first time I heard of this movie was when Chris Stuckmann did a Hilariocity Review on it, talking about bad video game movies like this, House of the Dead and Doom, leading up to Assassin's Creed. And yeah the movie is bad, but it's one of those "so bad, but fun to watch" types of movies. I mean your 2 biggest stars are Jaime Pressley (Because she was on My Name is Earl at the time. And damn she was the OG Margot Robbie back then) and a pre Dark Knight Eric Roberts.
I'm not going to lie, this was one fighting game movie I enjoy watching here and there even though it's cheesy. 😄
This movie could have worked with better fight choreography, and a more mature rating
Crazy thing is if I’m not mistaken, Eric Robert’s practiced martial arts.
@wanganmirage8167 best of the best 1 and 2
51:52 🤣 🤣 😂thats like he's losing balance, shooting spiderwebs, doing the Ezra Miller run in The Flash, all in one.
5 seconds in bursted with laughter thinkings Willem Defoe is doing drunken mantis or something 😂
Fun fact, the guy ninja in the movie is Sho Kosugis son. Who was the eye patch ninja from Ninja 3.
14:58 Damn Liu Kang is in this too.
It seems like this movie missed a beat. A heist film during a fighting tournament sounds awesome if done right.
I remember me and friends laughing the same way Billy did at Eric Roberts "fighting style" in high school man I swear we thought we were the only people that found that hilarious 😂
Them shots of Jamie as Tina tho😫😍
A scene from a Double Toasted episode appeared in a HBO doc on Bishop Sycamore. It was a good doc, but I lost it when Billy showed up in it briefly
Being Tekken players/fans at the arcade and on the Playstation me and my friends hated this game. I didn't even know there was a live action movie.
What's funny is that Itagaki (the creator of DOA) hated Tekken. 😆😆😆
I think DOA's fast fighting system is more fun and easy to learn, hard to master. Tekken is more of a game you have to sink more time into in order to even be somewhat decent, usually prior knowledge from previous games could get a person by in Tekken.
@lenindominguez1986 Too us it was a knockoff version of Tekken and it just wasn't us, I remember on weekends there would lines for people waiting to play Marvel vs Capcom, Tekken, Soul Calibur, Capcom vs SNK but none for DOA.
@@Wol1427😂 DOA creator or his game wouldn't have got no love back then in a South Carolina arcade back then especially if there was Tekken Tag cabinet nearby. But you are right it took time to master Tekken and I think that was the appeal for us.
@lenindominguez1986nah DOA was always seen as nothing more than a BOOB fighter. If anything MK, SF and Tekken are the big trio. DOA died with DOA6
0:07, that laugh...that damn laugh draws me into these videos everytime 🤣
Billy was laughing so hard he had to piss 😂😂
Don't negotiate with those buzzkills when you talk about something sexual. They laugh about everything but when the bottle lands on them, they get hurt.
The DOA series was made by a man of culture for the men of culture 😅. At least it isn't MK Annihilation bad tho.
Lol really? 😆 6:00
Go to acting school 😭👀 9:31
Poor Eric Roberts 11:00
LMAO 😂 12:05
Sexy vitamin water 🌊 17:30
Must resist!! 😭 20:50
Man is seriously going to explode! 😂 21:47
Oh no stereotype 😩 30:07
Stalking is scary.. 41:07
What fighting style is that!? 😂 51:30
It’s a really bad movie. From every metric you measure movies at. But it’s somehow still entertaining.
The biggest crime of this film is what they did to Ryu Hyabusa. Dude is a super-ninja who is in two different game franchises (one where he's the main character), and this movie basically turned him into a bitch.
22:29 dude looks like Kevin Spacey and Ron DeSantis put together.
Damn
As wrestling fans the word “Fake”. Whatever. Don’t get us started on movies and tv shows because we can roast too . Nice punch…. how many takes did that take. Kevin Nash….. worth it!!! 😂
I think this might be the first time Billy laughed so hard he had to go to the bathroom.
@lenindominguez1986 billy will be right back after these messages.
Billy's laugh sent him out of the room.
I hate when the one Black guy in the movie have to be super tacky and chasing a White girl.
Yo I just watched this movie a couple of days ago bruh I haven't seen it in a minute & I'm glad that got Billy on here to laughed at it.😂😂
Billys laugh killllllllllllllllllllllllls me hahahahahahha
Some day I hope they review the Tekken live action movie or even King of Fighter live action movies both are DUMPSTER FIRES
Wait a minute, isn't Eric Roberts that guy that was in some terrible film (I can't remember the name) but someone was like "Tanks are tinker toys!"
He's also the older brother of Juila Roberts...he was in two pretty good martial arts movies called best of the best 1 and 2
He's mostly recognized in Mariah Carey music videos 😆😆😆
He's also in a lot of Lifetime movies
unless its The Dark Knight or that episode of Danny Phantom where he voiced an evil/future version of the main character (aka the best episode in that series btw), aint never a good sign for your film or show when it features, Eric Roberts
They did Zack dirty. He's ridiculous, but at least his game counter-part is portrayed as charismatic xD
I mean charismatic as a DJ lol let's not act like Zack is supposed to be Prince charming cuz every girl in the games does treat him kind of like shit.
@@ameer781 That's my point, he's still portrayed as the life of the party and over-the-top, wheras here he just seems awkward instead.
I used to play as him all the time, I'm into Muay Thai fighters in games. They did do him dirty in this film though...just cringy as hell...
XD
LMAO 2006. Yeah, that sums it up. You know I love how Hollywood was like "yeah THIS is what gamwrs wanna see!" and cut to 17 years later and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, a family friendly franchise by Nintendo, DOMINATES. Love the game, I love a fighting game, but Dead On Arrival as a movie... nah man.
Jamie Pressly, nuf said.
Honestly this film is pretty accurate to the general vibe of the DoA games, especially the volleyball game.😅
Devon Aoki is one of the most beautiful women in the world.....
I can’t believe the part where the chicks hand went through the pillow didn’t make the cut
I have this movie. It's trash but I got a soft spot for it cause it's so childishly stupid and harmless. The perfect crap you put on while you clean the house and wash the dishes.
You guys have done Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and Dead or Alive. That just leaves the live action Tekken movie to complete the circle (i say live action because there's 2 animated Tekken films plus a series on Netflix. ALSO, this live action Tekken movie got a sequel called Kazyua's Revenge, which is also terrible, probably worse than the first film)
Can't forget the live action KOF movie lol
@@brookswilliams5239 THAT'S A THING
@@GhostPrototype900 yes it is
No lie i watched this movie a few times in my youth just to see Earls ex wife 😅😂
Oooooh i know this is gonna be funny, Billy left the room laughing lol.
The game put all its money in the game physics and motion 😂
Never thought I would've seen the DOA movie reviewed by DT 😁
Those special effects look like Spy Kids interns got paid an extra dollar to produce and direct this.
Man i was wondering if y'all would ever review this movie i requested it like 2yrs ago lol this is gonna be too good 😂
THIS MOVIE VS STREET FIGHTER ALPHA MOVIE.
Please do the best of the best so we don't have to remember Eric Robert's for this 😂
Once again DT out there reminding me about movies I forgot exsisted lol
