Thank Andrew for this fantastic video. I love DEITY TC-1 more than Tentacle sync because it has an on-device screen. What I don't like is the built-in battery but all other brands also have this issue.
Any tips on how to use with a7siii? I get this horrible feedback sound when I try to connect and can’t get it to work. I’m doing all the right steps. As far as I can tell..
Feedback sound are you meaning timecode sound? If you want audio time code make sure it is on the A-OUT If you camera supports the actual timecode in set it to L-OUT
@@AndrewMurphyFilms Turns out it was timecode sound. But now I cannot get it to actually sync in premiere with my a7siii and FX6. I am about to give up haha
Hello Andrew, cool video ! a couple of questions thou... can I add more units (say a second 3 piece kit) and sync them all using the app ? second, will this units pair up or sync with the zoom f2 BT portable recorder lavs ? this would be super awesome for my workflow ! thanks mate !
@@AndrewMurphyFilms This is the misunderstanding I was trying to explain. TC does not keep the cameras in sync. That's what genlock is for. Believe me, having worked many years in TV production, everything gets TC and genlock signals.
These are an awesome alternative to the Tentacle Sync timecode devices

Andrew, my man. Wow! Thanks for putting this together! It was exactly what I was hoping to find in so many ways. Amazing!
Glad it was helpful!
Anyone else not have the 'insert selected clips to Timeline Using Timecode' option? Don't know where I'm going wrong...
Nice breakdown

@@chrisprice279 Thought so. So you need to convert the timecode audio to timecode. Then you can do a normal timecode sync.
@@chrisprice279 Premiere can not do that. Try editing with Davinci Resolve

Could you just sync all cameras once before the shoot without carrying the box with you? That would be much easier and you would need only one box.
The internal timecode or clocks on cameras is not very accurate. It will drift over time. This is super duper accurate
The TC generator may not drift, but cameras do drift, this is not like genlock which will force all the cameras to sync the frames together.
Thats why you use the TC generator to sync the camera constantly. Then you won't have this issue

@@JohnnyMotel99 Do you have another solution than what’s presented in this video?
@@patrickfalls6819 genlock is the solution for all multicam setups. Problem is genlock only comes on the pro cameras and not prosumer or mirrorless.
@@JohnnyMotel99 I see. If not for sync, what is the correct application for using timecode generators?
