    Thanks for the discussion of Tentacle Syn E Timecode Syn Boxes. Do you have any real life walk-through video demos of actually attaching to cameras, hooking them up, synching, utilizing a phone or tablet prior to the shoot? And then during the shoot? And after the shoot? How to download, etc. the timecode? Also differences between cameras like the Sony FX30 with internal timecode sync vs a Lumix s52X (apparently no internal timecode synch)?? 😎😎

      Hi! I don’t have any tutorials like this but that’s a great video idea. I will add to my list of future videos! Thanks so much!

    Hey there ! Thank you so much for this video. I have been using Tentacle sink for a couple of years now, and it finally got stumped.
    For the first time, I have tried to use these while shooting at 60 FPS . For some reason, this workflow is just not happening for me. I keep being told to just use 30 FPS and it works great, but how? When I bring these into resolve, I am unable to reconcile the sync with my zoom F6 recorder that was externally jammed. I would love it if someone would make a video about how to do this properly. Thanks again for your video. I did like and subscribe of course. Have a great day !

      Hi, generally when I work with cameras running slow motion those are MOS (no sync sound). Editors usually use the slow mo footage as b roll under Interview sound and/or music. My best guess is that recording at 30 fps will sync with 60 fps footage if you slow down the audio speed by half in post? This will also get you timestretched audio that sounds slow motion. Again I would consider rolling sound on slow motion stuff a non standard workflow so this might be more of a workaround . Thanks for watching and hope this helps!

    Hey Nicolas, I've experienced drifting with my Tentacle Sync E. Any suggestion(s) for me by chance?

      @nicolasfieldsoundservices  Год назад

      What kind of drift are we talking? Usually good practice to re-jam once a day at lunch… do you have sync boxes on the camera(s)? You may already know this but camera internal TC is quite unsteady

      @@nicolasfieldsoundservices The clips start of fall out on sync by a couple of frames. I've been jamming timecode into the cameras via 3.5mm audio jack.

      Unless you have a tentacle Sync or other tc box living on each camera, your camera timecode will drift. If you’re already doing this, rejam all tc boxes every 4-6 hours to ensure accuracy.

      @@nicolasfieldsoundservices I left my Tentacle Sync E plugged into the camera all day without removing it from the 3.5 jack. maybe I should go back into the app during the middle of the day to make sure everything is synced again.

      They are indeed quite stable... I stress tested one TentacleSync down to 0C (in freezing water) and it stayed on sync within 0.46 ppm!@@nicolasfieldsoundservices
