The term " Assault Rifle " was used by the military for the first time in 1918, for the Browning Automatic Rifle aka B.A.R. ....it was a 30-06 cal. fully automatic only , though later versions were modified with a select fire option which cammed to be loved by the USMC as the Squad Automatic Weapon ...!
This is nothing more then the Brady Bill being resurrected. I can remember the same wording when I had to purchase a high capacity magazine as a COP and needing a letter head from my dept. just to get authorization to purchase it and it had law enforcement only stamped on it. If you got caught possessing one and you were not law enforcement you were federally charged . Here we go again.
Term of "Assault rifle" was invented by gun manufactory for promotion purpose a long time ago. In 1982, Guns & Ammo published a book titled Assault Rifles, advertising "Complete Data On The Best Semi-Automatics."[1] In 1988 Guns & Ammo handgun expert Jan Libourel defined an "assault pistol" simply as, "A high-capacity semi-automatic firearm styled like a submachine gun but having a pistol-length barrel and lacking a buttstock."[2] Gun magazines also specifically praised the spray fire features of civilian assault weapons. For example, a 1989 Guns & Ammo review of the "Partisan Avenger .45 Assault Pistol" noted that when the gun "is fired rapidly from the hip, its swivelling front grip makes for easy and comfortable control of the recoil," and that the "forward pistol grip extension of this powerful assault pistol not only helps point it instinctively at the target but goes a long way to controlling the effects of recoil...."[3] Guns & Ammo also found point shooting from the hip to be "surprisingly easy" with the HK 94 9mm Carbine.[4] A 1990 review in the NRA's American Rifleman of the Sites Spectre HC Pistol said, "A gun like the Spectre is primarily intended for hip-firing...."[5] The same magazine's 1993 review of the Steyr Mannlicher SPP Pistol reported, "Where the SPP really shines is in firing from the hip...."[6] A cottage industry of accessory suppliers sprang up, all of which targeted ads soliciting owners of civilian "assault weapons." [7] The gun industry deliberately used the military character of semi-automatic "assault weapons" and the lethality-enhancing utility of their distinctive characteristics as selling points. The German company Heckler & Koch, for example, published ads in 1984 calling their civilian guns "assault rifles" and stressing their military lineage. "The HK 91 Semi-Automatic Assault Rifle from Heckler & Koch...was derived directly from the G3," a German army weapon, said one ad.[8] Another ad that year described the HK 94 Carbine as "a direct offspring of HK's renowned family of MP5 submachine guns."[9] A 1989 Intratec ad said the company's TEC-9 "clearly stands out among high capacity assault-type pistols."[10] And in 1982 Magnum Research advertised that the Galil rifle system to which it had import rights "outperformed every other assault rifle."[11]

Oregon has a measure coming in November to reduce mag sizes down to 10 rounds. As well as required training and permits before purchasing a gun. While I think people should get training and be familiar with their weapon as much as possible, some regions don't have training available, effectively ensuring that those people would be unable to get a gun. Also those who can afford the gun but not the training would be unable to acquire the means to defend themselves. I know of areas in Oregon where the cops are an hour away and in situations where seconds count, it is not an option to rely solely on the police for your protection. I have had people tell me that they want to rely on the police for their protection. Uvalde is an example as to why that is delusional thinking.
Just to be accurate. Semi automatic does make a gun faster to fire than a lever or bolt action and that is what Semiautomatic refers to the action of the gun itself after firing. Not one pull of the trigger one round firing or going down range. Nonetheless we the people ARE the Malitia and just as our fore fathers we will defend against tyranny. The reason for the Second Amendment.
I mean, I’m against these laws, but let’s be honest here. You can obviously shoot a semi auto faster than a bolt action. I doubt your home defense gun is a bolt action lol I’ll do a shooting competition with you with one of my semi-autos, and you can use a bolt. Let’s see which of us gets more rounds on target in the shortest amount of time… That’s kind of why we are adamant about being able to own semi autos. Because the advantages are obvious. Bolts have their own advantages too; it’s a pro/con thing. But let’s not pretend that a major “pro” of semi auto isn’t rate of fire… because it obviously is. Semi auto literally _does_ differ from actions like pump, bolt, lever, etc because all you have to do is pull the trigger again, without any other manual input as you need to in these other actions. So you are most definitely “technically” wrong. I don’t mean to harp on you, but we pile criticism on the people on the other side for not knowing anything about guns. So you also not knowing what you’re talking about here doesn’t help the cause… you basically just conflated semi-auto with lever and bolt actions, when there is objectively a huge difference between them… this isn’t a matter of opinion. You basically just made the same mistake the anti-gunners do when they compare auto to semi-auto, but on the other side of the spectrum.

But when was that said in the video? To me it seemed like the OP was making an argument that the action doesn’t effect rate of fire, which is obviously not true. Term of "Assault rifle" was invented by gun manufactory for promotion purpose a long time ago.
In 1982, Guns & Ammo published a book titled Assault Rifles, advertising "Complete Data On The Best Semi-Automatics."[1] In 1988 Guns & Ammo handgun expert Jan Libourel defined an "assault pistol" simply as, "A high-capacity semi-automatic firearm styled like a submachine gun but having a pistol-length barrel and lacking a buttstock."[2]
Gun magazines also specifically praised the spray fire features of civilian assault weapons. For example, a 1989 Guns & Ammo review of the "Partisan Avenger .45 Assault Pistol" noted that when the gun "is fired rapidly from the hip, its swivelling front grip makes for easy and comfortable control of the recoil," and that the "forward pistol grip extension of this powerful assault pistol not only helps point it instinctively at the target but goes a long way to controlling the effects of recoil...."[3] Guns & Ammo also found point shooting from the hip to be "surprisingly easy" with the HK 94 9mm Carbine.[4] A 1990 review in the NRA's American Rifleman of the Sites Spectre HC Pistol said, "A gun like the Spectre is primarily intended for hip-firing...."[5] The same magazine's 1993 review of the Steyr Mannlicher SPP Pistol reported, "Where the SPP really shines is in firing from the hip...."[6]
A cottage industry of accessory suppliers sprang up, all of which targeted ads soliciting owners of civilian "assault weapons." [7]
The gun industry deliberately used the military character of semi-automatic "assault weapons" and the lethality-enhancing utility of their distinctive characteristics as selling points.

Our founding fathers knew what they were doing when they wrote the Constitution. It's made to protect itself, but not without the people to defend it.
I’m a little fuzzy on the use of “grandfather” term. I own an AR15 pistol (built from a bag of parts) and about 10 or so 30-round magazines. Would I have to provide an audit trail, so to speak, showing how I came into possession of this firearm and magazines?
Never give up any of your guns ever. No matter what passes in Congress...
We’re gonna have to start a militia in each state
Precisely...EVER......EVER. CIVIL WAR.
Never. They can take them from my cold dead hands.
Better to be wise than obstinate.
I turned over my bumpstock machinegun to the ATF.
Know why?

@@2Truth4Liberty nah but giving the ar-15 up is way too far
Imagine if all gun owners in this country United and stood up . It’s time for a March locked and loaded .
I’m in. 👍🏻
That's the best way for the Fed's to set up many many people at once. Remember Jan 6 ?
Only takes a spark to light the fire. Just need someone with the correct platform to help organize it
Never gonna happen, these cowards will talk tough online but never act.
This right here.👍🏿 When they tried to ban stuff in my state everyone marched and noone was shot that day. All people of different backgrounds who are law abiding gun owners. Anti-gun types still got upset over that. 🙄
I'm very confused and am not going to have time to read through the bill for a few days. Are they making it illegal to keep something like Ak47 bought in 2010 after the law is passed?
Yes. They cannot help themselves from fixation on the "bad guy" AR-15.
AK sales will just takeover 🤣
It's intentional; the AR-15 platform uses the same parts and ammunition as the rifles of their standing army. This is the only reason why the regime fears the AR platform but is not as concerned about the much more lethal and more reliable AK platform.
Just don't comply, but the way it's going we the people, are going to war, that is a must. Period.
100% this. I pray the gun community stops being pu**ies one day. If no one complies they literally cannot enforce it
Can you please talk about aaliyah ivory case. Two concealed and carry owners driving on road. Road rage occurs, one owner shoots 6 shots in the back of her car and claims he feared for his life.
"All the property that is necessary to a man for the conservation of the individual… is his natural right which none can justly deprive him of."
"Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
"Without freedom of thought there can be no such thing as wisdom; and no such thing as public liberty, without freedom of speech."
"Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins. Republics…derive their strength and vigor from a popular examination into the action of the magistrates."
"Sell not...liberty to purchase power."
"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
"This Constitution…can only end in despotism…when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic government, being incapable of any other."

sad....but so true. People want to go on about how "godless" the founding fathers were - and sure, they were sinful men but they still understood the ideals to which they sought to achieve were only possible in a nation of God fearing people seeking righteousness. The hope of our country ends with the death of the church.
Good Afternoon my brothers and sisters as a veteran I urge all of us to band together to save our wrights under the 2nd amendment, so call you congress person and urge them to get involved in our effort to save the 2nd amendment. We all have the god given wright to protect our families.
As a vet myself I believe that any vet that support gun control is a traitor to the oath we all took.
What does you being a veteran have to do with anything?
I'm in Commiefornia. Who do I call? Myself? 😂
Define large capacity. Is my 15 shot Glock 19 Gen 4 considered a large capacity?
When the blood of politicians begins to run they'll finally understand why its a bad idea to come after the general publics ability to defend themselves, and not before.
I have been asked why I need a 30 round magazine. I explained to them it's easier to shoot prone with a 30-round magazine than it is a 40 or 60 round magazine
Just tell 'em the same reason people " need" a Ferrari- then tell them to STFU. 😊
If I’m in Texas who can I contact to tell I want this bill swatted down?
I don’t own assault weapons. I own anti-assault weapons.

All of these gun channels need to put it on a shirt with their individual logos on them.
The problem is we are always trying to stop the next infringement on our constitutional rights. What happened to fighting to expand our rights in the 1st place? There should be continuous pressure to un-ban all firearms and the need for a license. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. End of story.
I lost all my guns in a boating accident..I tried finding them..but no luck yet..🙁 But yeah..I agree with everything you said..
Try to go back to the same area and use a magnet or something.

Preventing the transfer of magazines from one person to another would be really difficult to enforce. Js
When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.
The first step of rebellion should be to challenge in court.
Are you prepared?
The ignorance of law makers introducing the bills is mind blowing. Not knowing anything about firearms feel that they are experts!
I'm on the left, I recently changed my view on firearms and recently I just bought my first handgun. I really want to be able to buy an AR 15 soon, but I guess some politicians love tyranny
I just sent a letter to my representitive, and I urge all of you to do the same. We cant let them strip us of our rights. this is only the catalyst for future injustices.
Better to get together to cooperatively fund a good 2A attorney and offer to be a willing plaintiff.

They've openly admitted that they will do this! If you think they'll stop here your sadly mistaken. As legal law abiding citizens we must go against this with everything. Contact your representatives tell them NO. This only hurts law abiding people. Criminals will never stop they are criminals!
Those republican senators who worked on last months bill need to the primary targets. I was really sad to see Roy Blunt support that crap - i know he had good intentions but he's been in there too long and he somehow thinks those people are his friends now. Maybe they are - but they're not our friends and they definitely don't have our best interests in mind.
Please what can I do to prevent this ban? We need to stop this.
I live in Oregon! Never knew of this and I'm building my first AR-15. And getting mags. Crazy.
I appreciate these videos thank you
You're Welcome!
I doubt your home defense gun is a bolt action lol
I’ll do a shooting competition with you with one of my semi-autos, and you can use a bolt. Let’s see which of us gets more rounds on target in the shortest amount of time…
That’s kind of why we are adamant about being able to own semi autos.
@@randomutubr222 did you read what he said?
I don’t compare the two but semi Is faster than bolt action but no matter how fast someone trigger finger is it still only one bullet pre pull
@@deepfreeze8918 No, I just posted a multiple paragraph response without reading…
Of course I read what he said. Tell me how I’m wrong? I’m an open minded person.
He didn’t word his post very well, but it is clear what he was getting at…
Edit: after rereading his post, if he is literally saying the action doesn’t materially effect the velocity of the bullet leaving the barrel after firing, then fine. But when was that said in the video? To me it seemed like the OP was making an argument that the action doesn’t effect rate of fire, which is obviously not true. But if that’s not what he was saying, then fair enough…. I misread it and I apologize for misrepresenting what he was saying.
@@randomutubr222 he said semi autos fire faster. Then your 1st 3 paragraphs are saying the exact same thing. Maybe I’m not understanding what he’s saying.
I guess my nephew’s Marlin/Glenfield 60 is now large capacity Assault Weapon. After all, it is a high velocity/high capacity (18 tubular magazine) .22 caliber rifle.
I can't wait for the Supreme Court to have a reason to rule that Constitutional Carry is the law of the land. In regards to the anti-gun politicians, I'm looking forward to November. 😎
I doubt THEY EVER rule that. it should have to be even ruled, it shouldnt be in place already, but they would never do it.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
"well regulated"...
@@elmateo77 means well trained. Or to use the definition in context, a well-governed, militia, is necessary for the security of a free state ie. a nation.
This doesn't give the government the right to regulate firearms, it gives the right to train and organize the militia which is made up of the people. Hence the comma, hence why the right shall not be infringed.
The whole point of the 2A is to prevent what is happening in Europe and Canada.

How can they enforce the proposed transfer rules without a registry of owners? I suspect they already have a undisclosed tegistry.
Uscca. I think the link you provided is a summary of the bill.
Someone I follow said they read the full version and it includes in the definition of assault weapon any semiautomatic with detachable magazine and a pistol grip. This would include Glocks.
It's a slippery slope to ban almost all kinds of weapons
My senators and Rhino congressman are antigun. How does an already owned/grandfathered rifle become a “safe” weapon?????
Vote them out!!
It's to dip the feet in. Guarantee if this unconstitutional bill passes, I give it a year tops before more mass shootings happen and they will then make grandfathered AR 15s illegal thru a mandatory buyback/confiscation. 💯 Guarantee you that will happen. This is a test drive.
@@macker007 And when they cheat with secret algorithms in the new computerized machines, vote harder. Lol, the republic is dead.
What constitutes a grandfathered gun?
I love it how in the bill they use SAW as a S[omething, idr] Assault Rifle, instead of the known meaning of those letters, Squad Automatic Weapons (which are unfortunately illegal)
A free man doesn’t have to ask permission to bear arms
You're supposed to pay a fare to ride on the NYC subway, but we have seen videos of people avoiding the fare req.requirements of the subway system!
I'm reading through the bill right now and honestly it seems more strict than our (Canadian) "assault" rifle ban, I have a shotgun that would be considered an assault weapon if I lived in the states but its fine here.
It's fine here to. Having guns of all kinds and variety aren't only legal but encourage here in the states but Ruddy Pooh Candy ass democrats are trying every which way to circumvent what is already law and establish a van that has already been ruled as a unconstitutional illegal ban bt the highest court in the land. The shotguns are perfectly legal as are AR 15's with 30 round nags. What the Democrats however are trying to do is not legal. And also if the bill of rights seems strict to you then perhaps it is but those rules aren't to private citizens . Those bill of rights are telling the government what they can't do. Not what a citizen can't do
Very difficult to watch and listen to people who pretty much know nothing about firearms or how they operate. Do they really think this nonsense will solve the crime problem? Now I know why Elvis was always shooting his TV sets. 🇺🇸
This is not about "crime" it never has been truthfully about that at any point. (yes even during the 1930's prohibition) Its all about Control, domination and enslavement.
Mahalo for your info about this Bill. We all need to be more schooled and knowledgeable on these things. I too, have always spoke of normal capacity magazines when referring to my 30 round ammo feeding device as it came from Knights Armament with my SR-15... 2 of them actually, and neither were 5 or 10 round capacity.
With everything that’s happening right now, inflation, crime, general public uncertainty/anxiety, etc,..the average law abiding citizen must be able to defend themselves and their families now more than ever. Not to mention the fact that bastardizing the constitution should be on the bottom of the list, certainly behind fixing the economy. Where are all the bills attempting to fix that and the plethora of other REAL problems this country is facing!?!?
They need the problems, they are creating the problems and chaos so they can roll in with their solutions. Yes it is that simple.

To celebrate the POTATUS, I just bought myself a Brandon Special: a doubled barreled shotgun.
It’s a Stoeger coach gun with blued barrels and walnut furniture, just like the one they used in the Evil Dead movies. Groovy.
Sounds like good ol Americana old school out of your Boots, 0O buck nothing better 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

The bottom line is,
NO restrictive law, regulation, or rule on ANY armament is constitutional.
