You know, Steve, I think you’re right to avoid using the word “fans” to describe your viewers. Fans care about your work, and if your work isn’t to their liking, they stop viewing. Friends, in contrast, care about you and your family and want to see you healthy and happy. I sure care about you and Terry and Courtney and that little cutie pie grandson helper and I think a lot of other viewers feel exactly the same way. Have an incredible weekend with the family! ❤
Hi Steve. I can’t believe that people who win your giveaways don’t thank you. It boggles the mind. I have won many giveaways in a different community and have made some great friends in the process. Oh well. We appreciate you, winners or not. I hope you had a fun weekend. Nothing like a good road trip!😊
5:58 Stocism. I'm going to listen to this a few times today. I'm exactly as you described in today's video. I've "cheated" a lot since Christmas time, and suffered the aches and pains that junk food brings to my body, not to mention my A1C, my liver, kidneys, pancreas - endocrine system. I certainly haven't done my autoimmune condition any favors in the past couple months. But as you said Steve, If you've fallen off, get back up. We know how to do this! The ancient and modern quote is powerful. Thanks!
Thanks for the quote for sure. What I’ve decided to do now is not tell myself or others that “I can’t” but that “I choose not to” and as dumb as that might sound to others it’s working for me. It also squelches any negative keto conversations from stirring up as well.
Wow... just wow. I really needed that quote from The Daily Stoic this morning. Since October, I have been mostly "on plan" for me and have come to know that incredible feeling of pleasure that self-control brings. I've really come to understand that once I got away from some foods for a good length of time, and then yielded to temptation and indulged in one or more of them, I definitely felt so much worse both physically and mentally than when I resisted and maintained self-control. Sadly, last night was one of those moments where I did not resist and I feel like crap. I have re-watched that portion of your podcast 4 times already and have written down your words. I will re-write them every morning in my journal for at least the next 3 months - which includes a vacation. Thank you Steve. Your podcasts mean a lot to me.
Enjoy your family trip! I'm so grateful to have found your channel. You are such an inspiration both in mindset and creative keto cooking. Thanks for sharing that Daily Stoic passage. That was how I felt before I decided to give up my nightly dose of adult beverages. Instead of waking up hating myself for indulging again I would wake up happy that I had resisted the temptation. That success feels so much better than the very brief pleasure of a cocktail.
Hope you have a fun and safe trip with your family! I remember, many years ago, having a conversation in the Madrid airport with 2 Israeli students. They approached me because I was reading a new book from one of their favorite authors (sci-fi). They lamented how they would not see the book for at least 6 more months on Israeli shelves....So I opened my carryon and let them "shop" through my paperbacks I was bringing back home (lived in Spain at the time) from the US. And I gave them the new book as I knew I could get another copy within a week or so. Having lived overseas, I understand how ridiculously excessive our consumerism can be. I go "off the rails" by planned choice when I go on vacation....Mostly keto, but some foods will be a detour from my normal fare. Good chat.
In this my fifth year of keto I have never done a deliberate cheat day. Instead, I have done what I call "cheat moments" where I eat a very small portion of a food I miss. Mostly I miss fresh fruits and microbrew beer. Once in a while I'll have a small slice of pear or mango or 3 or 4 ounces of a high carb microbrew beer. I remember and savor the flavor but I'm not tempted to have more. Anyway, this works for me.
Steve, thank you for all your effort. I've traveled to many places all over the world and it really opens your eyes. I don't know if you've been to many foreign countries, but I recommend it to everyone. With that in mind anyone traveling has to be careful where and when. Politics and therefore war, plus conflicts have to be kept in mind. Israel and the middle east in general is a hot mess right now to put it mildly. I hope you guys had a great trip!
I have always hated stoic philosophy. You helped me to realize that I have been misreading it. Indeed, the memory of how sick my favorite "cheat" foods made me feel has kept me from cheating. Instead of cheating, I've indulged in paper and fabric art or long speed walks. I appreciate your insights a great deal.
I’ve had your keto chow potato soup several times this past week. It’s amazing. This week I’ll be focusing on the keto chow mushroom soup. I know it will not disappoint. Thank you so much for your dedication to making these savory soups just right. It is such a warm comfort food for me. I didn’t even know that I liked turnips! You rock, Steve!
@@SeriousKeto Hey buddy! Thanks for all the great content. I was wondering if you could link me to your videos on flour & resistance tapioca flour? You know if the public can get this yet? Thanks again
Hey Steve! A co-worker, his wife, my wife and I have tried the Royo bread and bagels. We all agree that the taste and texture are great, however, the co-workers wife blood glucose was spiked by 25 points with one bare slice of the Artisan bread. She is the only one of us that has tested our glucose response. I'm looking forward to your testing. Take care!
Good info. Thanks for sharing. For what's it's worth, a spike is generally considered at least 30 points of glucose movement. 25 is still significant for just a single slice, though.
Thank YOU Steve. You could've gone about your keto way and never graced us with recipes and keto chow flavors 🤭...thank YOU for sharing YOUR journey! 🥩🥑
Enjoy your time away with your family! Hubby and I are also heading out. Great time to be reminded that cheating isn’t worth it. Thanks for all you do for our community!
I do not do comments that often. Only have one eye other almost blind. So, comments from me mean alot. Thank you for doing research for me. You give me faith in things you tell. If you have done a video on electoliyths I would appreciate knowing which one . Thanks again
I will be excited to see you test Royo. I did a big order and was so excited. I had the raisin bagel, and it knocked me right out of ketosis. I was disappointed, but I didn't do follow-up tests. In fact, I have fallen off strict keto as I am finishing up the order I placed.😢I need to get back on for sure.
Just WOW. Last year, my daughter said let’s have “clean” holidays. It was probably the first year that we have EVER done that, and the first year that I pushed through to losing 60 pounds. (Why let a few weeks undo your whole journey? Maybe some of us feel the best way to work through holiday depression is to eat our way through them, only to just end up more depressed?) Talk about gratification! Excellent passage. You could read epic threads to me anytime! Have a wonderful holiday! But, I must admit, what made me laugh out loud was when you said, “Pimp their products!” Perhaps a new channel: Keto Pimp? 🤣😂🤣 Looking forward to you hitting 300K subs soon!
Thanks again for your video. I enjoy how you share some personal tidbits, and to me that helps me know you are "human" and have the same struggles. Your quotes from the books you are reading are also thought provoking.
Where I live there is one, yes one, company that makes keto bread. I can order some other brands online but that is about it. I would love egglife wraps that you have. Yes I know you can make your own but I would have loved to have had that as an easy option. Keto bread without wheat gluten would be super too.
Steve have a great get away with your family. My wife told me to tell you the Temu products are junk. Thank you for what you are doing in this space. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you for Loaded Baked Potato Keto Chow!!! I have had it as soup, au gratin potatoes, Even came up with some hashbrowns out of the leftover au gratin potatoes. Yum Yum Yum. Have a fun time on your time away and thank you for your video.😊

Hi Steve. Go on line and check out Better Brand bagels. Something like 40 carbs and 35 grams of fiber, 26 grams of protein. Made with modified wheat starch, modified food starch, and agave fiber. When I want a bagel (a couple of times a year), this is the one I go for. They're huge so I eat half a bagel. Great chew!

Hi Steve, have you done a podcast on carbs vs net carbs?
I know I have in one of my podcasts, though I haven't made a dedicated video (which is what the topic probably deserves).
Temu isn't above board as far as I know. I don't remember who but someone did a review of them here on RUclips.

You should talk with Autumn about Keto palu za
Nice that you enjoyed some time with a viewer. I’m hoping you can do a blood glucose test on the new “The Better Bagel” by Better Brand bagels. They are fabulous for sure and claim 5 net carbs per bagel. Thanks and enjoy your family get-away!
I’ll make a note of that. Are they in stores or just online?
They are online and now I see them at Thrive Market. The everything bagel is amazing! VERY expensive but I keep them in the freezer and splurge once a week. Thanks for being so active in your great community!
I don’t have cheat days, however I do allow myself scampi linguine about once a month…on that day, I watch all other carbs.
Speaking of conferences, I’m going to keto Palooza in October and it’d be great if you got to come
Maybe... Probably not this year, with the new grandchild arriving in August, but a better chance next year.
Truly, now you can understand why it costs me a fortune to import keto ingredients to me in Ecuador.
I heard that keto friendly Ramon noodles can be used for breading . Any recipes?
I haven’t tried that.
