If a crimp bead breaks, then most likely your beads will fall off. Crimp covers will protect your crimp beads from getting knocked around, but if the crimp bead is not very strong or something is wrong with how it was crimped, it still might break. If you are having trouble with crimp beads, I would recommend switching to crimp tubes. I personally prefer crimp tubes and find them easier to use and stronger then round crimp beads.
Hi! If you are using fireline, you would not use a crimp tube. Crimp tubes only work with beading wire, not thread. For the fireline, you would just knot it and work it into your bead work.
Hi! The .019 inch wire protectors work with beading wire up to .019 inches. I just converted your .45mm beading wire to inches and it equals .0177 inches, so it should work with the .019 inch wire protectors.
Thank you for replying so promptly! I wasn't sure what the measurement of 0.19 inch referred to (size of the whole protector, or the hole that you thread the wire through), so that's why I asked. I appreciate your help!
Hello! I dont have that end holder that you use in the video- is there any reason I couldn't apply one of the wire guards *before* stringing the beads?
Thank you so much for this! I just started using wire protectors, and I wasn't pinching them closed. They looked awkward with the crimp tube and I couldn't figure it out. :)
What size wire protector did you use on your bracelet? I use 49 strand .019 beading wire. You state it will fit UP TO that size. Does that mean it will include that size too?
I want to get some wire protectors for my projects, and have been looking at your Web site at the .019 inch loops. I already have some .45mm beading wire to use. I understand that the wire protectors vary in size, but what size beading wire can we go up to with the small protectors? Thank you!
@MEDeLongSC Yes, it should include that size as well. Good catch on clarifying that. Here is the listing for the wire protectors that were used in the project: www.beadaholique.com/p-31163-14k-gold-filled-wire-thread-protectors-019-inch-loops-10.aspx
Can I use this type of protector for a wider bracelet Like say I was making a peyote or herringbone bracelet and needed a wider clasp, how could i do it please.
You can use a heavier gauge stringing material such as this: beadaholique.com/products/beadalon-beading-wire-gold-color-018-inch-30-feet with larger crimps. It depends more on the weight of the bead vs. the size. Some really large beads can still be quite lightweight so you can use just a standard size wire/crimp/thread protector.
Glad you like this! We have another more recent video on wire protectors too if you're looking for more examples of how they're used: ruclips.net/video/avbi6VCPZGE/видео.html
You can find them on our website! :) Here is a direct link: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=wire%20protector&_=pf&pf_t_product_type=0-Product-Type%3AWire%20Protector
No, you can leave them open, a bit of slack is alright and keeps the wire from getting kinked. The jump ring or other connector that you attach to the wire connector will help keep the wire seated in the protector.
Essentially it's the same steps, the only difference being that you tie the cord at the end rather than crimp it. You can find more detailed instructions here: beadaholique.com/products/ladybug-daisy-chain-necklace Thanks for watching!
Sure! Thread is so thin and slippery that it can easily pull out of a crimp tube, there is just not enough material to "grab" it. Another concern is that the metal edge of the crimp tube could cut the thread. Beading wire is much more substantial and is actually a metal wire, so there is not the issue of it pulling out or potentially being cut by the tube.
+Beadaholique Oh, gosh. Just when I think I'm having a "light bulb" moment, I realize that I've got SO much more to learn. MY BRAIN HURTS!😂. Thanks for the explanation. I'm gonna get it....someday!
Hi! I would like to know does It matter if I have 49 strand beading wire that's 61 mm? Will It work with 19'' protectors? I also would like to know what size crimp tubes and lobster claw clasp will I need with this size of wire protectors?

I'd there no cover needed for a crimp tube?
Thank God for this video. This is just what my projects need!!!
Clear, concise, and to the point. Thank you!
Thank you!

VERY COOL,THANK U.
Great video!! Thank you! If you are using fireline with the protector, do you still use the crimp tube as well?
Can you use wire guards with Superlon d thread or will it cut through it? What’s the best way to protect Superlon d thread from clasps and toggles?
You can certainly use these with super-lon and other threads/cords.

What to do for heavy and large beads? 12mm + What size thread protector, wire, and crimp?

So the groove horshoe part doesn't get closed or crimped down?
No, you can leave them open, a bit of slack is alright and keeps the wire from getting kinked. The jump ring or other connector that you attach to the wire connector will help keep the wire seated in the protector.
WHat would you use with S-Lon to finish off a necklace? Thank you

"Crimp tubes only work with beading wire, not thread" Would you explain why. I'm new to beading and have lots to learn. Thanks.
