Thank you all for following along over the years! I really, really appreciate it andthank you all for the kind kind comments! - Some of you are asking regarding the screen in the background. That's my TV, it's a Samsung "The Frame" 2022 model. Great for displaying your photos, good image quality, terrible "smart TV".
All the best for 2024 Mads, to you and Sophie. thank you for your continous enthousiasm and inspiration! IWishing you lots of beautiful moments in 2024!
Good afternoon, Mads. Im following from Calgary, Alberta. I love your channel and work, and I really appreciate following you on your adventures. I wanted to wish you all the best in 2024
Many thanks Mads for all your super videos in 2023. Your photos are just BRILLIANT, they are right up there with the best on RUclips. I look forward to more content in 2024. Happy New year.
Hi Mads. My name is Dudley Hutchinson. Photography is one of my interest that I have not spent as much time on doing as I would like to. I am very much an amateur with one camera (sent A6400) and two lenses. Thanks to your RUclips videos I am inspired to improve in 2024. This is the first time I have messaged any contributor on RUclips. I wish you a fantastic 2024 year of photography, and maybe I will join you. The blue light is my favourite of your two photos.🙏
...5:12 it's the Radagast's forest! ...and that is my favourite shot...all the best in New Year for You and Sophie.... thank you for your work...it's inspirational....
An amazing set of images but my favourite is probably the simplest that you took and that is the walrus. It just makes me smile. Then there is the church and the storm surge (I think it was #16). When you released that video I think I said that the church looked like it had grown there a thousand years ago and I still think so now. I love it. I wish you all the very best for 2024.

Happy New Year to you too / everyone that watches your channel. Blue version of the Slovenian church for me, but I'd say the Slovenian vids were my favourites of the year. Great stuff, all the best for '24!
Thanks for posting this video. A real treat. It acts as a year end review of your videos. Thanks for posting "an average of 13 photos" per video. Gives us lots of beautiful images throughout the year.
I really like the northern lights photo and the tree branches with flowers. For the church photo. I think I like the blue hour photo best. They are all good though, what a great idea to put these in a book by year!
hard to choose....all are so great!! I personally like the Northern lights (#4), photo 13, and the little church in Slovenia. I think there was a different photo from your video though that I slightly liked a little more of the little church. I remember watching it and saying, "oh wow".
Happy New Year Mads and Sophie .Thank you sooo much for all the time and effort you have put into your photography this year Mads .Looking forward to your adventures in 2024
Loved seeing your favourites, they are all stunning. Looked forward to next years adventures. Thank you for everything you do. All the very best for the New Year. xxx
At least half of your favorite photos were taken with a drone. Some people don't like drone photography. I just consider the drone to be a really, really tall tripod. Well done, all. Of the two Slovenian church photos at the end, I prefer the blue hour one simply because it's so dramatically lit. But I appreciate the subtlety of the other one, too.
Gorgeous images. I love the gnarly trees and flowers one best. I would put that on my wall without hesitation. I have tried to emulate it myself without success but keep trying. Well done on a successful year. No one deserves it more than you Mads. Looking forward to 2024 with your channel. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
it's been a joy to watch your channel this year. Your photos is a work of art! Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see what you're gonna come up with in 2024 :)
What a great way to showcase your work from this year. Thanks for sharing these wonderful images. I’ve seen many of them in your videos but the impact is so much greater in print form.
Happy New Year Mads, I hope 2024 is a great year for you. Thank you again for sharing your video's with all of us, it is very much appreciated. I did have a favourite image but as you went through the image's in the album it went out the window. The image's that you took were absolutely amazing. I look forward to seeing your video's in 2024.
Tanks Mads and Sophie for your outstanding work! Truly inspirational. If you ever consider to visit The Netherlands the last two weeks of April is the time to go for capturing our tulips fields. Btw photos 10 and 17 are my favorites
Wishing you all the best for the year 2024 ! Not only do I admire your photography, but also your energy. Already looking forward to next year's video's.
Thank you Mads, for all the videos you‘ve produced over the year. They were all most inspiring and entertaining. I found the Slovenian trip absolutely fascinating as its a place I‘ve wanted to visit. Your PhotoBook is amazing, an absolute visual treat! Looking forward to seeing more of your trips and educational videos. Have a wonderful 2024!🇦🇺
Wow so many beautiful photos I couldn’t begin to pick a favorite. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and great tips this past year. I’m wishing you even more success in the coming 2024. Can’t wait to follow you and keep on learning,
Great review Mads! My favorite photo is the minimalist white with the cluster of trees. Really enjoyed watching your videos this year too. I actually have a love-hate relationship with your photos, haha. Every time I see your beautiful photos on Instagram I am super inspired at the same time that I want to stop doing photography because I feel so far away from that level. However, one day I went back and watched your very first video and it confirmed what I already know, that with continued practice it is possible to improve considerably. Thank you and Happy New Year!
Thanks so much for sharing Mads! Beautiful photos this year! I truly appreciate all of your hard work getting to places I can't get to. It's a joy being able to follow along! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you, Mads! You have given us a year of quality videos. Thank you. As you were going through your book, I was thinking I would like to buy a copy. You should sell your photo books. You might be surprised how many people would enjoy this. Looking forward to what you bring us in 2024.
Great video and photos, as usual Mads. My top n.1 is from the glacier on Greenland, I remember the video and the light with the clean air, makes something out of this world. Congrats and happy New Year. If you ever remember visiting Portugal, you're welcome. Thanks. Rui
Impossible to choose between all these gorgeous photos! But I love the one with the walrus most, think it’s the one that moves me most. I printed some photos through Saal digital, the quality is amazing. Noticed one thing though- I have to exaggerate the photo processing a little more, the photos where to dark and didn’t have a real punch to them, so difficult. Thank you for this year, it’s been amazing to follow your journey! ❤
No, I didn’t work with the ICC profiles 🤔🫣. Thank you for mentioning it, I will look into it the next time I print some photos. I found printing out my photos was a mix of emotions and I learned a lot from it, there’s so much to it then only print an image. Some of the pictures I printed were better than expected (photos I’d taken with the phone), with others I chose the wrong size. And some were to dark. I have only a small screen on my laptop so maybe that makes it even more difficult. The important thing was that I had a lot of fun, and now I know a lot more than before. Going to use that 50 % off at Saal digital. Thank you for the answer and tips!
Another year of great videos and amazing photos Mads. Each photo recalls the wonderful video where it was capture. My favorite is the big wave event in Denmark (No. 16). Partly because I especially enjoy your Denmark videos and photos. I love how the big wave mimics the shape of the church on the left side. As for the two little church photos, tough choice but I prefer the golden hour version because of the subtle variety of colors and textures. Have a safe, happy and healthy New Year!

Awesome work as always. I hope you visit the Azores someday. Going to LOVE it! Happy New Year!
All best in 2024!! Since you made it to Slovenia, hope to see you in Croatia too, from Plitvice to Dubrovnik. I would love to see my homecountry from your perspective.
Thank you for another wonderful year of photography. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in 2024! Hey! By the way, what is that frame in the background that allows for a slide show of your photos! I need something like that because I am running out of wall space to enjoy my photographs! Thanks!
Can't really pick a favorite here. I watched the video where you got p3 and instantly knew it would remain a standout, p5 feels super inviting, p6 is perfect, p8 is all about the gaze of the animal and what the viewer makes of it, p9 is spectatcular especially because the clouds add mystery by obscuring the mountain shape, p10 is perfect and the two people in matching clothes are ridiculous (in a good way), p16 gives me Caspar David Friedrich vibes.
Thanks for the video, it was once again outstanding🤩. I think the background with the TV and pictures are also very successful. Happy New Year to Denmark 🙌🏼
Happy New Year Mads from Devon, UK. What an amazing year you’ve had especially travelling so much and doing collaborations. You have a great eye and pick out shots others would miss. I really like the explanations of why you like your favourites especially the local ones which means to most to you knowing how rare they are with the adverse conditions. Top work… All the best for 2024. Cheers, Chris
Some excellent photos Mads. Happy New Year and hope you have one twice as good in 2024. Of the church photos I like the golden hourish one best. Thanks for all you do to bring us these great videos, instruction and especially the fantastic images.
That frame changing behind you 😳. You know I have a personal favorite. But of what you presented here... So hard to pick. Your work is simply the best I've ever seen... It is the cover of your book I like the most. The stark contrast, incorporating wildlife into the scene... Looking forward to learning from you in 2024! Keep up the outstanding work. Cheers from Texas.
You are my favorite photographer! Did you learn by yourself or did you do photgraphy in school too? I'm thinking of taking a one year photography course now 2024, mostly because I need something new to do and wouldn't hurt since school is free here.
My favourite is Picture 4 - The Northern Lights above the road - Classic MPI, minimalistic, simple, calm. Great composition and the usual brilliant execution. And then it shows one of the events that had a lot of attention in Denmark in 2023. Everyone were out trying to catch the Aurora Borealis - not many with as much success as you though 😊 Btw I just received my 2023 year book from Saal Digital this morning. First time I try them out but definitely not the last! Looking forward to seeing your videos in 2024. Happy New Year.
Hej fra Galicien (Spanien), Mads! I do love all of the photos that you present within the video, but I have two favourites. First one is the Tuscanian minimalist Heaven, due precisely to the simple composition and its lack of complexity. Second one (but at the very same level of love) is the Icelandic landscape with Sophie in the midground, just for opposite reasons: its complexity fills the image with strenght and a lot of drama. Nevertheless, again, great photos all of them. Godt, fotografisk og produktivt nytår!
For anyone asking me about starting out in photography, your channel is always one I direct them to as the knowledge you share Mads along with the stunning images you create, there is so much to learn from you and of course your tutorial courses. Your book is a magnificent reminder of the year you had and if I had to pick my favourite images, then I think the volcano image and the storm surge image from Denmark would be my choices. The conditions and the timing of these events make these even more special in my opinion. I think you have covered this before but can I ask what noise reduction software you are currently using?
Thank you so very much, Jim :) I generally use the Ai denoising in Cr/Lr, however, if that doesn't deliver a satisfying result I use Topaz Denoise Ai :)
I like that book. I’ll have to check Saal out to see if they deliver to Canada. Currently using Blurb, but your book looks far superior. I tried to sign up for your Photoshop course a few weeks ago, but the Black Friday code said it was expired. I put a reminder in my calendar to make sure I get it next year. I love your photos and your explanations, and inspires me to try different compositions. Keep up the incredible work. Cheers from Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Love the video. On a side note, is that a digital frame behind you or are you swapping your wall art out throughout the video? If so, would you mind sharing what brand that frame is?
I love all your photos! As a beginner photographer, I wish you would have either discussed or had on the screen the camera settings that you used to take to each photograph
Which one or two photos are you in doubt about? I generally discuss the settings in the videos where I capture the photos - without the context most exif data aren't useful :)
That’s why you watch videos during the year. He goes over the settings as he takes them. (Hint…he mostly uses aperture priority and let’s the other settings float as needed)
Hi Mads, thanks for this nice overview. Of course I saw all the videos this year. it remains a matter of taste and all photos are beautiful. Personally, photo 1 (because of the fairytale atmosphere), photo 3 (greatly appeals to the imagination) and photo 6 (I love fog and minimalist and this is art) appeal to me the most! The photo at Stevnsklint also really appeals to me. I have been there and walked on the beach there. This way I have an idea of the scale. We wish you lots of photo fun for next year!
Beautiful images Mads. I am in awe of your skills both camera and post processing. I am slowly working my way through your course such a great resource for my own photography and post processing. If I had to choose my favourite image it would be your walrus. For me that would be an absolute once in a life time image I wouldn’t be able to envisage myself in the Arctic or Antarctic regions often let alone close enough o capture these beautiful creatures. A very close second would be you deer shot. Although not native to Australia we do have a feral population but they are so elusive photographing would indeed be an achievement. Thank you for sharing your images and what make them special to you. Merry Christmas and a very prosperous New Year. 🙂🙂
Gorgeous photos - as someone trying to improve my photography, I find your channel very inspirational. I noticed there are a lot of drone shots in your selection this year. Is that just coincidence, or are you using your drone more, or getting more skilled at composing aerial shots?
Mads, I've looked on your website but I'm not finding any option to purchase your annual books. Have you thought about making them available? I like the one you did last year and this year and I would be interested in purchasing a copy of both years.
Hi Nathan, thank you very much for the interest. For now I do not do physical books and these annual books are personal. I do expect to make one at some point, but for now it's too big of a logistical nightmare with all my traveling and a small apartment on the 4th floor ;)
Happy New Year!! My favourite was the final Slovenian church shot, followed by the minimalist trees shot, but they are all superb! I was also wondering what the screen was on the wall behind you. Similar to earlier poster I also found my Saal photos were much darker than the way they look on my pc. I will have to check out the profiles you mention
Thanks a lot, Kevin :) Yes, Samsung "The Frame" 2022 model and definitely try ICC profiles, but it's also incredibly important to check your photos on several screens, making sure your main screen is calibrated, that it isn't too bright and that the ambient light in your room is balanced to the screen. Editing in a dark room will make you perceive your photos brighter and less contrasty (you can see all details) and editing in a very bright room will make you perceive the photos dark and contrasty (you lose a lot of the midtone information and only see highlights and shadows). Also make sure to not have light sources shine directly into your eyes like a lamp or window :)
Thanks Mads - my room is often pretty dark so could be that, although my canvasses from other print providers did not have the same issue (obviously different photos though) @@MadsPeterIversen
9:33, OK, how did you do that? The picture in the background keeps changing, but at 9:33 it changes as you are talking. Green screen? Very cool! (And, keep up the good work in 2024.)
Dear Mads, first things first: best wishes for the new year! Thanks a lot for your continuing great videos - I agree they are very informative and captivating! And I did a Saal-Digital Photobook with your recommended 50% offer, many many thanks just for that. But allow some questions to Saal: Do you develop your images for the Book in a special variation? In special, what fitting formats and sharpening do you here? I ask because I noticed some softness and not the perfect sharpness in double-sided Images (30x40cm), even when the Saal-software says "very good". Astonishingly I have a poster 50x70 cm on my wall, also from saal, which looks great! I am a bit irritated about that. My Camera is a Nikon Z6 with 24 Mpix, Lens is a 24-120Z. Do you have a possible Explanation? Best regards from a confusing Peter from germany!
Hi Peter, Thanks and you are welcome! Sorry to hear about the softness issue. I generally always put a sharpening layer on my photos in Photoshop. I use the highpass layer technique. I haven't had issues with my books. But at some point I got a metal print where something must have gone wrong in their handling process as the frame I ordered was the wrong color and the print was noticible low quality. I sent some photos of the issue and they sent me a coupon to get a new one made almost instantly. Maybe it's worth sending them a ticket on the issue? :)
Hi Mads, thanks a lot for your answer. Well, I think I did something wrong while preparing the Photos for the Photobook. Because one of my photos from a book I ordered again as a poster from Saal-Digital in the mentioned 50x70 and I prepared it in Photoshop with that needed resolution: 50x70 with 300 dpi - and it is quite stunning! Perhaps I had the wrong resolution within my photo or i had unsufficient sharpening. And - perhaps you might do a video with the best settings in Photoshop for Photobooks as well as large posters?? Perhaps when it is "boring outside??" 😄 More regards, keep going! Peter @@MadsPeterIversen
Mads, Another year of Epicness in the books (figuratively, and literally).
Bravo !!!
Ciao for now…
All the best for 2024 Mads, to you and Sophie. thank you for your continous enthousiasm and inspiration! IWishing you lots of beautiful moments in 2024!

Beautiful shots. For me the joy of reviewing my pictures is seeing the moments of time and light I was fortunate to capture.
Some absolutely phenomenal shots! Cheers to 2024!

Happy New Year to you too / everyone that watches your channel. Blue version of the Slovenian church for me, but I'd say the Slovenian vids were my favourites of the year. Great stuff, all the best for '24!
Very inspiring photos - we live on such an exquisite rock in the middle of emptiness.
Thank you for taking us on your journeys.
The Greenland waterfall or the minimalistic trees in the white background.
"Inspiration" yea. You nailed that.
Thanks for posting this video. A real treat. It acts as a year end review of your videos. Thanks for posting "an average of 13 photos" per video. Gives us lots of beautiful images throughout the year.
VERY NICE! Good work! Thanks for sharing
Mads, love your work. Such a gorgeous set of images
I think these books are something we should all do more.
Outstanding photos. Happy New Year to you both. Looking forward to observing and learning from your videos in 2024.
I like the white Tuscany photo with the trees most! Thank You Mads for all Your Work - and all the best in 2024!!! Manfred
Love your work Mads
They are all very Nice photos but the Church at Blue hour is absolutely stunning congratulations
Fabulous photos Mads - very Happy New Year to you and Sophie!

Blue hour of the church excellent photo.
What a superstrong year of photos!
Looks like there's a fogbow (white rainbow) in photo 14, too!
Happy New Year Mads and Sophie .Thank you sooo much for all the time and effort you have put into your photography this year Mads .Looking forward to your adventures in 2024

it's really hard to choose just one. I love, love the grand panorama, the Danish storm, and the blue hour church.

Thanks for the video, it was once again outstanding🤩. I think the background with the TV and pictures are also very successful. Happy New Year to Denmark 🙌🏼
Happy New Year to you all!!! Mads, you are one of the best landscape photographers in history! I could not thank you enough for sharing!!!
Top work…
All the best for 2024.
Cheers, Chris
Your work is inspiring!!! Fabulous
Sensational!
Happy New Year. Thanks for all the wonderful videos.
Happy new year Mads. I like them all, and look forward to seeing more of your work in 2024.
Happy New Year Mads. Thank you for a year of wonderful and inspirational videos!
Some excellent photos Mads. Happy New Year and hope you have one twice as good in 2024. Of the church photos I like the golden hourish one best. Thanks for all you do to bring us these great videos, instruction and especially the fantastic images.
Happy New Year! My favorites are 6, 14, 16 and 17.
Great photography, Mads! Cheers for the New Year., and thank you so much for all your work❤
That frame changing behind you 😳.
Thanks as always, Robert :) Yeah, that's my TV. Samsung "The Frame" 2022 model :)

Godt Nytt år!
Blue hour for me. Happy New Year! Carry on. 👍🥂
Thank you so very much, Jim :)
I generally use the Ai denoising in Cr/Lr, however, if that doesn't deliver a satisfying result I use Topaz Denoise Ai :)
Thank you Mads, all the best for 2024
I like that book.
Thank you so much, David! I really appreciate that you feel more for the photos as you've followed the videos over the year. Thank you! 🙏
Mads, Have you considered making a second Photoshop course intended for "advanced users"? I would buy it and many of your RUclips community as well.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the interest. I'm wondering what I would put in it, because I do cover all my editing techniques in the existing one :)
Thank you ever so much, Nicoline! I'm happy you're enjoying the course! And both a merry Christmas and Happy New Year's to you too 😊
Gorgeous photos - as someone trying to improve my photography, I find your channel very inspirational.
Gotcha! Well, if you ever make a "Best of the Best", I will be your first customer.😊
Amazing photos as always!
I'm sorry, but could you comment on a video anything about the huge photo changing tv on the background?
Thanks :) check the pinned comment ;)
Happy New Year!! My favourite was the final Slovenian church shot, followed by the minimalist trees shot, but they are all superb! I was also wondering what the screen was on the wall behind you. Similar to earlier poster I also found my Saal photos were much darker than the way they look on my pc. I will have to check out the profiles you mention
Thanks a lot, Kevin :)
Yes, Samsung "The Frame" 2022 model and definitely try ICC profiles, but it's also incredibly important to check your photos on several screens, making sure your main screen is calibrated, that it isn't too bright and that the ambient light in your room is balanced to the screen.
Hello, is this 40x30 Professional Line Photo Book XT? And is the paper glossy ? Thanks.
9:33, OK, how did you do that? The picture in the background keeps changing, but at 9:33 it changes as you are talking. Green screen? Very cool! (And, keep up the good work in 2024.)
It's just my Samsung TV "The Frame" 2022 model. It has an art mode where you can load your own photos onto :)
Doh! And I thought you were doing something really trick... I suppose you were. @@MadsPeterIversen
Hi Peter,
Thanks and you are welcome!
Perhaps when it is "boring outside??" 😄
More regards, keep going!
Peter
