Farming fact of the week: Funny thing with rice fields is that they don't *need* to be flooded. I discovered this quite recently when I saw a lot of dry Japanese rice fields, where water was more scarce. But the flooding it is an effective way of keeping it free of weeds. Rice can happily grow in water, but most other plants don't like it. And with some fish and ducks in the water, they can keep any water plants in check and be another food source. Also, a lot of snakes like the combined terrain of water and land and help to keep rodent populations down. Effective farming before herbicides and other modern solutions.
It looks like a budget anno, if they finetune a few problems (better understanding the rivers and canals for the user for example, or the weird way they implemented the gods) it could look interesting

Somewhat reminds me of Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom. An absolute classic.
The best city building game of those era games from sierra ❤

Potatograd is built in Celestial Empire.
Hoo-ray Comrade-Dictator Potato!
Really like Anno, but much less to do it seems.
What's unique about banished/anno clone with a Chinese flavoring?
Looks cool! How far does the demo go?

Please make more than one clothes shop. I am always amazed how people think one building can service a whole city and they never look back.
