    Well done, great review! But instead of paying to ship heavy gravel in the mail and then taking a large hit to *lose* about $300 to $500 total on the gold and the shipping fee combined, a much better idea is to purchase about one ounce of placer gold yourself and then seed it (add it) into about 5 gallons of sand-gravel yourself, then mix it all up in a wheel barrow with a shovel and a little water. Run this material on a system (Gold Fox, Gold Hog, Gold Cube, expanded metal over miners moss, etc.) where you can save (catch) your tailings. There you have your *fun* with sluicing or highbanking with almost *no* gold loss and NO money loss, with maybe a very small loss in the cost of gasoline or electric power to run a water pump.

  • @Wraithsong
    @Wraithsong 6 лет назад +23

    no disrespect intended. maybe im just old school. but if i were to spend 1780 on mining id just use that to be the trip cost to go spend a week or two out in a few gold rich areas and be able to make more profit that way. then again the biggest hurdle we have right now is just being able to get out to get material, so i can see a niche in the market but i just cannot stomach the idea of not going out and digging it myself. good video ty.

    • @AU79Prospecting
      @AU79Prospecting  6 лет назад +3

      I completely agree. This was done for fun / RUclips entertainment. I have to say though, the vast majority of people would not be able to find an ounce of gold on their own in a week unless they were in a very good area and had the right equipment. But the experience is really what it comes down to! Thank you for watching =)

    • @Wraithsong
      @Wraithsong 6 лет назад

      agreed. but i do live in an area that has a lot of gold to offer. its really just about being able to get out and get busy for us, winter time is a bit harder because while mild oregon winters can still be dangerous where the gold is.

      I definitely hear you. I live in Virginia and do a lot of prospecting here. The cold/wet season is very tricky...NOTHING beats getting out and finding gold on your own. Buying paydirt can help pass the time on cold/wet/snowy winter days and is a fun way for a someone to practice panning at home. Best of luck to you!

      This is just my point of view, this seems like a gimmick for people who want to play with some dirt on the weekend, not knocking anyone at all because if you understand what you’re doing it for which is to have fun then you’ll be ok. For anyone thinking that this is some kind of way to turn profit then obviously they’re serious misunderstanding the entire point of this. The bottom line is gold prices can skyrocket like they did years back, if you’re fortune enough to buy low then all the power to you, but like it was stated in this video this is strictly done for entertainment.

  • @frederickbierweiler8020

    I wanted to see the gold!Like they said this is not the way to invest tin gold.Its for entertainment and education.If you don't live near a gold bearing area and figure travel expense this is not really that expensive to handle, pan, study, and play with.Gold is cool

    you nailed it again AJ :) if a person thinks about just how much money it costs to purchase equipment then the time getting to gold areas then the labor and the costs per day per person if a person can just buy one ounce of raw gold in a five gallon bucket and even just pan it all out they are way more money ahead of the game great review and money smart

    Same with a slot machine at a casino. If you find a machine with a 95%+ payout, you’ve found a good one. You won’t make a profit, but the cost of your fun is at least reasonable. Add in the free drinks and you’re getting closer.

    I dunno... most of that looked like casting gold. Just bullion, anything from 10k to 24k heated to melt and poured into a tank of cold water. It makes those small (nugget) shapes, it's easy to remelt it and cast into jewelry. Another giveaway is how shiny and clean it is, maybe get a test kit and see what carat it is. Love the Trommel though, great job!

    Just because the bucket doesn't look like it's been ran before because it has sand and dirt and dust doesn't mean it's never been ran. It's just as easy to add dust and dirt and sand as it is to just add pieces of gold I'm sure every single one that they have ever sold has been ran before and they have an exact number of how much gold is in each bucket

    Hey there,
    Awesome vid and great review. Very informative.
    A couple of things to please consider about shipping, we are resellers as well and we have seen the mess of it. The rates just hiked (2/2018) for shipping across the board. Sometimes you can get a better deal if you compare shipping companies. We don't know what service Lynch uses, but it can all depend on location of where they/you are. Our local little post office will accept FedEx Home but FedEx can sometimes take several days to pick up from our local office so we have to drive 30+/- miles to get to an actual drop off (Not an actual FedEx) So yeah, just something to think about on being a buyer and seller. USPS has jumped up the prices $0.03 up to 5oz then it goes up from there. So something that used to be fairly cheap to mail, now is killing sellers if we do free shipping on larger items. But in fairness we understand the customers point of view on things as well a customer wants it fast but to give the best price you have to do 3-5 day parcel select to keep the price low. Places in Cali can charge CRAZY amounts for shipping. Check out USPS website and plug in a random California zip code from your area or from the place you are buying from to your location, it can be interesting.
    Again thank you for your awesome review, and we love doing paydirt as well, fun hobby for the kids.

    I wanted to answer a few things that have been brought up...
    1) *This is NOT a paid review.* Lynch Mining had no idea I was putting it up. They often post 'positive' reviews of their pay dirt on their Facebook page. Somehow I doubt this will end up there because it calls them out on their slow shipping and non-stop sales tactics.
    2) *Buying paydirt is not a 'scam'. Anything sold anywhere is always sold for a profit. It costs $60+ to take a family of 4 to the movies. It costs $200+ to take a family of 4 to the amusement park. How much money do you get back later? ZERO. Are those scams? Its ENTERTAINMENT! Buying paydirt is no different.*
    3) *Do not buy paydirt to make a profit.... because most of the time you will not. Occasionally you will get more gold than you paid for, but that is the exception not the rule.*
    4) Yes this is real paydirt. It's sourced from an actual mine (I have confirmed this). Most paydirt sold online is not, but this particular paydirt is. The reality however is that REAL paydirt does not have much gold in it. You have to litterally run TONS of dirt to get a lot of gold. That is why companies add in extra gold so the consumer can have a good experience without having to pan out 100 buckets of dirt. The BEST/RICHEST paydirt is never sold. They typically sell the low grade/gold poor paydirt -- it makes more sense financially to sell it and add more gold in it than extract the gold. As I stated in the video, I would be willing to bet the bucket had 0.01-0.02 grams of natural gold in it, with an additional 32.5grams added.
    5) Refineries pay 85% typically of spot, more for bigger nuggets. Why? Because gold is not 100% pure.
    6) If you spend $100, and recoup $95, your return is 95% of your original output (100% is considered break even). You go to the movies and spend $60, you get back 0. Big difference.
    7) Gold Fox USA is the company that makes the trommel. You can visit their website at: www.goldfoxusa.com . Everything they do can be customized (the color, decals, types of mats, size, etc). *I paid for this trommel (this is NOT a paid advertisement for Gold Fox!)* Update (as of 3/1) Gold Fox is now a patreon supporter of AU79. I personally asked them because I love their product and they were totally on board! Does not change the fact that that I paid for the trommel and they were not a supporter as of the making of this video.

    Nice video. I think you may have been a bit harsh on the shipping score. You mentioned it was a Christmas sale, surely the timing of when you purchased this was a big factor, also if you are waiting maybe months for a sale, I don't think an additional 2 weeks is very long to wait. Pretty cool to watch though nice video.

    Good review on the pay dirt.
    It would be good to see how this pay dirt compares to other brands of similar quantity.
    Sides by side comparison.
    Also it would be good to see if a second and third bucket produces similar quantities of gold. This may then provide greater confidence in both the pay dirt and your equipment.
    Once again liked the review.

    So why doesn't lynch mining just ship a 1lb of 1oz pay dirt via post office, priority, for 2-3 day delivery that would cost them $9 to ship. Then you can go in your backyard and fill up a 5 gallon bucket of dirt, mix that pound of pay dirt and then sluice it? I realize your doing it for a hobby, I get it, and hopefully you can sit on it until the price of gold goes up. Another comment below said that you could sell the nuggets individually on Etsy, Ebay, etc which is a possibility as well. This reminds me of Knotts Berry Farm as a kid paying to pan for gold but the price your paying I will send you a guaranteed 1.1 oz of pay dirt, a year subscription to time magazine, a box of candy canes, a thank you letter and I will respond to your emails within one hour. Very informative video on whats going on in the gold industry. Thank you.

    So how much was the gold worth vs how much you paid. I know that the really good nuggets that you got are worth more than base value. I didn't see if you made more than you paid. I buy a little here and there from different places and I've probably paid 3,500 for not quite an ounce of gold . The fun I've had panning it out makes it all worth it. I've bought some that have bigger nuggets and some that just has fine gold. I want to take the bigger nuggets and put the fine gold on top and melt them into a one ounce nugget can you recommend a video on how to do it. Love your shows thanks.

    Average global nugget purity is 60-80% gold the 80-90 is rare and you can tell by color. For jewellry it's ok but better to go to NV and dig dirt.

    • @AU79Prospecting
      @AU79Prospecting  6 лет назад +2

      Be careful using Color as a way to guess a nuggets purity - the 6 gram nugget I found is 91% pure but looks very dull bc it has about 6% silver in it. A touch of Cooper can make a 60% gold nugget look like 90%..

    We purchased from Lynch and we agree with you on waiting for the discounts and the snails pace they send stuff out. It took 25 days to receive our order. We bought the Belmont and a couple others, the Belmont bag was open and half was loose in the box.
