Wow! My eyes are tearing Watching this because me and showkey share a whole lot in common, I was also into boxing football, scavenger (picking Aluminium around lagos) with my friends back in Itire pako Eleja with my friends ( some are still alive today) infact my part crossed with showkey in two movies as we acted together in "Vicious Tunnel" & "Kiss me quick.

the organizers should link you two up! He'll be glad they did
As an Ajegunle boy growing up in the 80s everything this man said is confirmed, even when we enter university, we were not comfortable to tell people where we are from because of the Ajegunle stigma. But we rise to the occasion
These stories should be heard positively
You’re absolutely correct💯
Everything he said is correct💯
Only a true Ajegunle brought up would know all of this.
I grow up in AJ I was a bus conductor and I was sleeping in AP filling station in boundary that year . I have seen my conductor friends that also stealing they were killed and burnt down
I grew up in olodi apapa in the 80s and early 90s, everything he said is 100% truth. watching from Zurich Switzerland
@@ikeolubaba8337ALHAMDULILAH for the gift of life 🙏💯😍💎
Did anyone noticed one thing about Daddy Showkey? He remember every details of events of the past even it happened over 40 years ago. He remembers day, dates, location and even dialogues that took place many many years ago.
So the F9 parallel was just situational he is super smart.
Indeed examination is not the true measure of intelligence
True
Very correct.
I noticed that while I was watching. Even the name of the train station he was at in Germany in 1996. He is super smart...
he was street smart
I was born and raised in Ajegunle and lived very close to where Daddy Showkey stayed. I saw Daddy Showkey every day from my childhood until today. Baba always comes to Ego Bar on Mission Street, off Orodu Lane. Everything Daddy Showkey has said is confirmed. I have been working on writing a story about our beloved AJ City, which will be introduced to Daddy Showkey himself and everyone involved when the job is done. Best wishes.
Congratulations in advance.
Here we see the importance of Jehovah Witness.
Also born and brought up in Ajegunle. Kirikiri road.

This is the reason why we should appreciate what Tunde Onakoya is doing at the moment. I think he should be invited to this show.
So much humility and wisdom in one person.

@@Kanmi9I think it’s important to the honest bunch show to let them know that people also watch them from abroad. Thats what makes it an international show.
This show is my safe place, I hail all of you all your guest change my life every time. Brenda from Cameroon🎉🎉🎉
Daddy showkey narrated those criminal acts instances with the clear conscience that he wasn't in the know that those instances were indeed a "crime". More reasons why kids who grow up to become hardened criminal continuously lives in denial without a heart of repentance.
He wants us to understand that a minor indulging in crime shouldn't be tagged criminals. They are most times a testimony of bad parenting or products of lack in all ramifications.
Those kids indulge in those criminal acts since they only want to survive.
Funnily, they are still criminals but we all need not ostracize them, but rather let them know the ills of not putting a halt to those little unconscious criminal act while helping them nurture their innate potentials with show of love, care and kind guidance.
This is the reason why Daddy showkey can never forget the impact of that Police officer he mentioned.
Our quest for western education validation has robbed most kids of their ingenuity. Daddy Showkey had "F9 Parallel" in class but his articulation and memorization of happenings around him and his ability to remember dates, time and happenings shows that he's a genus....
big ups senior man, been a fan since
THIS IS THE COMMENT
WORD!
Says a lot about the insincerity of our educational system
50years plus and looking like someone in his thirties kept me fascinating every time I set my eyes on daddy Showkey.
I'm telling you! No grey! He looks younger than his age.
Husband material intro is everything.

🎉🎉🎉This is the best podcast of The year, You guys deserve merit Award, 100%
This is one of the most outstanding, if not the BEST "The Honest Bunch," episodes.
I'm a silent but ardent social listener who crawls through social media but does not make comments. The content of this episode has made me break that code - for the very first time.
Firstly, I wish to commend the team for the quality of guests on your podcasts, the research that goes into every episode, and the quality of conversations.
I'm even more awed by the personality of Daddy Showkey - his life journey, his perspectives. philosophy and his lingo!!! His Street Credibility is so down-to-earth, authentic, and fresh.
The current and potential value and impact of his journey and this episode is in a zillion-fold as it is time-less.
Great work, guys and gals!!!❤🎉
💯
This brought nostalgic tears to my eyes, remembering how we lived then in Ajegunle and how far I have come in life. It can only be God. We don’t look like our past.
Thank God for your life sir
OYI SPACE STILL DE FOR US WEY WAN LIVE FOR THERE?
Back in the 90s, 98,99
I grew up knowing daddy showkey lives in our area (next street )in ojodu berger, such a great man,it's a good feeling that you live not far from a celebrity back then...my childhood friends are all in one of his music video, I came back from my mum's shop that day angry because I couldn't feature in the video 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Ifenagbon The tall burgundy house
Showkey's memory is top notch, remember names,dates...events and more.
Why is nobody commenting on the cuteness of our Daddy Showkey...cute mehn...cute story too.
Yes me I did notice how polished and good looking he became over the years. But I didn't see that in the 90s. He was more rugged then. He has since "meloed" a bit.
@@chijiobi7760 Growth is what it is called. He needed to be very rugged in the 90s and early 2000s.
Growth, hardworking, clean mind and a good wife
The Ajegunle stigma. I experienced this first hand. When i used to go to The British Council, those of us from Ajegunle were given a separate place to sit.
As a kid, I'm glad, to have always met Daddy Showkey many times on my way to choir practice and also watch him perform for us then. Man loves kids a lot. We used to shout "show key, show key" excitedly and follow him whenever we see him.🤣🤣 and baba no dey pursue us. He was always relating with us very well.
So many lessons. As someone who was born in Olodi Apapa and grew up in God's mercy, God thank you!
I can undoubtedly say it only people who don’t come here to watch the full episodes of this podcast that usually speak ill of this podcast… so many untold stories have emerged from this podcast.I’ve learnt a lot from this and a lot other episodes of this podcast… Love it always !!
Speak ill??? This is the best podcast infact the only podcast i watch.
I was born and grew up in olodi apapa, in the early 80s and 90s all things happened. Daddy showkey is saying the truth 100% truth. Watching from Zurich Switzerland
Kongis!
Kongis used to be the survival of youths in Lagos as far back as 90s, especially in Ajegunle.
Tolu School Complex has up to 18 secondary schools and about 3 primary schools. What a memory.
I leant so much from this episode and it reminds me so much of my childhood in Ajegunle.
Daddy Showkey, thank you baba.
"Diana husband slf chunkle me bundle... I no spray shishi". 😂 That part got me laughing really hard... 😂😂😂 "Na me be ORDON! I be Don na". I love the sound too Nedu. 😂😂😂
What an amazing episode this is. I enjoyed every bit of it.

Sir Nedu can this story be retold through a film?
I am a scriptwriter let's work on this, there are a lot of stories to tell and lessons to learn
this is very true
So true
I second this.
I will gladly pay to watch the movie.
Great idea 👍🏿
When You av paased through Life, and Life itself has passed through You, You will remember dates, names, location. This Man here, Daddy showkey has gone through life. So glad he was rescued. Our younder generation should watch this, and learn. Especially now that the hardship of this country Nigeria is on another level, and the educational system is dead.
Crime will be the order of the day. How then do we save the "younger generation?". Big Ups to the crew of the Honest Bunch. This was impactful. ❤
I am an ajegunle brought up and all this man said is pure truth..the stigma then knowing you are from ajegunle...thank God today we are proud of where we were all brought up..ajegunle to the world..63 uzor street✊

Years ago, I met Daddy Showkey at Niger Delta Kitchen in Abuja. It was a memorable day for me. He told us a story about his attempt to stowaway to Europe but somehow missed the ship. Those that left have never been seen or heard about since they left. That was another way he escaped death or disappearance.
Baba showkey , I respect you ,from today I will always call you my father, watching from Europe, like my story ,mother's prayers is working,
This man's personality was so pivotal in how God took away the stigma from Ajegunle. It's absolutely incredible how passionately he lived and lives. Whether he was doing good or bad, he believed in himself and has a pure heart. 3 things you can say about him:
- God blessed him with gifts
- He had love and support
- And we worked hard.
Very inspiring man

Growing up in Ajegunle, this story is synonymous to that of every Ajegunle Kid. It feels good to hear someone tell our story; The Ajegunle Story.
There's more to be told because that city has so much rough diamonds. Everyday, i thank God that i grew up there because it has taught and helped me a lot in many ways.
