    I have struggled with bow canting for as long as I’ve been shooting so today I put my back bar on the right side of my bow and MY BUBBLE FLOATED RIGHT TO THE MIDDLE! Yahoo!!! My form had an immediate response to this slight change. I just want you to know that your video helped me tremendously. Thank you and I appreciate all you do!

    I used to play play golf for a living and just found archery and mainly to bow hunt 3 days ago. But... I shot the SS34 and it's amazing how close archery and golf is mentally and routine and form. I used to shoot competition trap and open sites so that helps a lot but holy shit I am addicted and quitting golf.

    Dear mrs Pearce,
    First: a big thank you for your insights, tips, .. technical advice. It is sound and easely understandable, .. so usefull for many.
    A tiny addendum, if I may: when tinkering with cam-timing, you are also tinkering with the pressure of the grip in your bow-hand. So, afaik, it is also important to check out the grip-position and angle of the grip, before working on cam-timing.
    Sometimes it is beneficial (offcourse very personal) to check the angle of the grip, being it low or high.
    Unfortunatly, often and most of the time, one needs custom grips or tools to change the angle of the grip but IMHO this is something that is often overlooked AND an important feature to check. ( it will also change drawlength)

    • @PaigePearceinsight
      @PaigePearceinsight  Год назад

      You are right… but the way I shoot I have my wrist very low and locked all the way back so it can’t change. I’m not a fan at all of all those high grip options (unless that is as far back as someone’s wrist bends). For me if I break my wrist for a high wrist grip under pressure it never feels the same, and I can push forward or relax back and it’s not consistent. So I choose my grip angle based off what allows me to shoot my wrist with bone to bone alignment. Then I’ll play with the timing as it changes how it aims drastically when you aren’t changing grips.

  • @NPC-fl3gq
    @NPC-fl3gq 3 года назад +2

    I love putting most weight up front. It also reminds me not to shoot with a high wrist coz it helps push the lower part of the grip into my hand.
    Thanks for the tips, Paige!!

    Holy shit someone who noticed the smart way to balance stabilizers! Weight at distance is how you reduce pin float. Heavy up close is just heavy.
    As a hunter, I position my back bar to adjust the center of gravity to keep the bow from spinning upon release. That's mostly how I position my weights and bars. If it jumps out of my hand with rotation of any kind then I adjust until it doesn't. Then I add as much front weight as I can without making things worse. Further out the better.

    • @PaigePearceinsight
      @PaigePearceinsight  4 года назад +2

      Brian Vandenboom Hahaa that’s hilarious. I don’t really believe in like “balanced” as far as front to back. Mine nose dives right now with all the front weight 😂 but the left and right it’s definitely way more forgiving to have it where your bubble wants to stay out in the middle instead of having to fight it!

    • @BoomtownOutdoors
      @BoomtownOutdoors 4 года назад

      @@PaigePearceinsight yes, I should have been more clear than "balanced"....I basically did what you said in the vid. Got to full draw with my eyes closed and settled in....Then opened my eyes to see if the bubble level was set in the middle. It was, so I was ok, BUT I was not confident in this after watching your video....I am only running 5 or 6 oz on front and 16 oz on back bar so I do not have the huge weights that a lot of others have. Seems to work well for me, but we will find out just how well in a few of weeks in London, Ky!

    One important caveat to add in regards to setting your bubble with your eyes closed. Many people have issues with their balance proprioception when they close their eyes. This could introduce a completely wild variance when they go back to aiming with their eyes open.

If I run my back bar on the RIGHT side that might help me pull the bubble level. Of course I think I should still check my 1st, 2nd and 3rd axis, but I think they are still true. • @PaigePearceinsight
      @PaigePearceinsight  Год назад +1

      Running your bar out can help increase lens magnification, you can use the sight bar to help torque tune your bow if you want, and for me I’m running mine out for the scope power but also because I have to use such a small peep to clear everything up I have to run it out that far to be able to see the whole housing through my peep. If I ran it in I couldn’t center my scope housing in my peep at all. So it’s numerous reasons but it’s nice to have the option to do so just in case you need to run it out :)

    • @waynestevenson9613
      @waynestevenson9613 4 года назад

      Chris Christenson you should time your cams perfectly and then set the stops according to your draw length that you feel is most comfortable. Then you can add or subtract minor twist for upper or lower pre-contact with the limb stops. Like Paige said your searching for the best hold. I personally like my bottom stop to contact about a credit card thickness or even a little less, for me this helps me up into the target better. However, it’s something you will have to decide on. Experiment away!

      bullet 1379 I have tried one before. I honestly didn’t notice too much of a difference. It will change how the bow balances in your hand but I felt I aimed better without it. Just like I said in the video it’s all so customized that it’s worth a try to just test it! :) if you don’t like it you can always switch back. It’s just a dang guess and check game honestly

    Don’t you always want the cams hitting at the same time

      Nope. You can run it top ahead, even, or bottom ahead. And different amounts as well. If they are set with one ahead just make sure you pull hard enough that both stops still touch through your whole shot. If they don’t then it’s too much for you and set them closer to even.

    Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

    SOOooo Paige, would you still respect a guy that just wants to shoot target and not hunt?

    • @PaigePearceinsight
      @PaigePearceinsight  3 года назад +1

      Of course! There are a lot of people that shoot target but don’t hunt. Just like there are many that hunt and don’t shoot target.

      @@PaigePearceinsight Hello Miss Peirce, should you have time and consider answering this, I've heard you have been seeing Levi Tate? If I remember correctly the announcer at an Foley competition commented on how "steady" his aim was...... Could you point me towards one of his videos for advice on steadying your aim. I'm still struggling at 20 yards. Thanks 🏹🤠👍
