I am not very good at math and need slow step by step to follow. Your videos are great at helping me understand! Thanks!
I have a few questions about your math.
Thank you so so much!!!! Math isn't my strongest subject but your videos have helped me clear out so many things my own teacher didn't even come across.
Thank you so much! I don't understand why all teachers can't be so clear when they teach! I wish I lived closer to you, you'd be worth every penny.
I am so thankful for you doing this... You have NO idea how much this has helped me. I've been sick a lot at school and my teacher's one of those here's the notes do the work and never explains anything so this just made the lightbulb pop on. So just letting you know that I will be watching MANY of your videos! Thank you thank you thank you so much!!!!!
6:47, if you wanted too, you could simplify +6 +- square root of 52 / 2 as +3 +- square root of 13 by rationalizing root 52 as 2*2*13, taking the two out of the root, and then dividing all terms by 2.
Sweet Video man. I have a math quiz every friday and i go to youtube and look up videos. So far, you are my favorite pick.
@rmadrigalb i am pretty sure i am taking advantage and also sharing it with others
I love how you explain this, you're way better then my college instructor.
Whenever I have a problem with my regular math I look up your videos. You have saved me on more than one occassion. Thank you and please keep making videos :)
thank u sooo much! i was trying to do my hmwrk and i got stuck on these problems! i had a test coming up and over-reacted and got worried! but then i realized that i was missing a step! thank u sooo much! ur a life saver! i dont know wat i would do without u!!!!!! :D
@MadisonNoelleBlack thanks for the words of encouragement. i will keep doing what i can.
I WISH YOU WERE MY MATH TEACHER! THANK YOU SO MUCH! very very clear and makes you want to understand. THANKS AGAIN! keep them coming!
Your services to the internet community of "people who need math help" is much appreciated!
love ur vids! can u do some more hard questions?
Thank you so much! You helped me, I have been pretty much failing my math class since school started. Math is my weakest subject. I don't understand how I get 99's in Science, 100's in English but 30's in Math. Your videos helped me so much, I think I will pass this test on Monday. Thanks again!
The most important things you must know for general chemistry are scientific notation, graphing, and unit conversions. I'm not sure how far your class will get but if you want to major in chemistry, you must get very familiar with your calculator. In more advanced chemistry courses you will need to know about logs, natural logs, inverses, the quadratic formula, and statistics. Just remember chemistry is really easy in the begginning, however, if you don't pay attention you will get lost later on
@TheKingmoab i used to live there, probably will not go back :)
@hotnov no problem! good luck on the test!!
this is a life saver. I feel like we were talking different languages in my math class and I love math. therefore I was fustrated but you know what I love again, yeah!!!
@GearZNet happy i could help : ) good luck in your studies!
@bigd2cc no problem
i have a test tomarrow about this stuff and it makes more sence to me now thank you.
no problem! glad it helped!!
you are a saveuar stayed up till 12 doing homework and couldn't figure out this question but after watching this I was quickly refreshed
Thank you SO much, I was trying to study for my test tomorrow, but I didn't get it. After watching this, I finally understand! Thanks!
Since the 3's are opposite in sign and like terms (no variable [letter] just a number), they cancel. All that is left is x+x. They are like terms (both variables and same exponents) so we can add them together, hence 2x. Good day! :)
I have a test tomorrow and this cleared up every question I had about this.
This video helped sooooooooo much. My math teacher sucks at explaining this stuff. Thanks again
@BronzyPink1092 glad you like the vids : )
Thanks for making these useful Math videos. You teach this stuff better than my college Algebra teacher.
HEYY! I REALLY LIKE YOUR VIDEOS THEY ARE CLEAR- kinda kinda fast but ok
i have a question! how do i know when there are NO SOLUTIONS, depending in the result, in this case in the final result was ''3'' but i couldnt understand why is NO A SOLUTION. thanks
I really appreciate you taking your time to do these videos. They are very helpful and glad they are free. :)
thank you so much fer your vids i have raised my grade in preap precalculus from a 73 to a 91 i am so proud of my progress through your examples and applying the principles and methods from your videos to my teacher's tests... which are seemingly conjured from black magic lol
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you sooo much for posting these vids! You are an angel!!!
It wasn't the exact problem I was looking for, but it helped to clear up a lot! Thanks!
@Itsmyfaceonthescreen i am not sure. too many videos to remember
OMG u r a life saver!!!i finally understand ....thank you so much
now i'll take a bong hit for algebra 2 and for your help..thnx
Oh my god, I finally get this now. Once my teacher teaches a new lesson, I'll just look for one of your videos and you can be my actual teacher. :)
just watched the video,//i learn a lot from this video... it really helps me out for my homework..thanks!
for the second equation, you can factor further to 3+square root 13 and 3- square root 13
agreed
Gilbert, to answer your question. x - 3 + x + 3 = 2x goes like this.
x + x gives you 2x because the x's are like terms. So you combine your like terms.
-3 + 3 = 0. To make that easier for you to understand, maybe re arrange the two to make it easier. Example is +3 - 3 = 0.
Try this example.
x-5 + x+5=?
If you need more help, myself or Patrick here will be glad to help.
@ZGJDJD i have a video on evaluating numbers with fractional exponents
Great Video was struggling with 5 problems after watching you do the first one I did them all in about 6 minents thanks man great video!
Thank you! This was really helpful. I liked how you used two different colours.
I only watch your videos. they help me a lot.THANKS BRO!!!
@guitarsession100 probably not
I a not attempting to brag or anything of the sort... however I must pay you with the highest of respects Mr.Patrick. I am a 13 year old who is taking the time of his christmass break to learn everything from Pre-algebra to Trigonometry in order to take the ACT and move on with my life. I am extremely close. Thank you
thank yo so much for making this video you really helped me out man
Keep up the good work
Brother man, you just saved my life. I cannot thank you enough.
You teach me the things my math teacher doesn't. Thank you SO SO MUCH! ♥
@jasonhan8733 if i did not like austin so much, i might think of moving to toronto
This may be confusing to some, your instant reaction may be to cancel out the x-3 and x+3 to 0, and that can't equal 2x because it's a contradiction. However, the first term, x-3, does not have a -x. So, x-3 + x+3 is equal to 2x, because only the 3s cancel out, not the x's. Hope that answers your question.
Im doing like a marathon of these videos to study for my Alg. 2 final tomorrow :P
how would you solve: The height in feet of a water rocket that is launched can be modeled by the function f(t)=-16t sqaured+ 64t, where t is the time in seconds after it is launched. Find the rockets maximum?
at 5:48 i thought you were going to write on the table :)) very good job man thanks
even though you commented 3 months ago, I can answer your question.
@ 8:11 x-3 + x+3 = 6. The x's added together are 2x. The -3 and the +3 cancel each other out. You are then left with 2x = 6.
again, as i say for every video of yours.. I LOVE YOU.
If I graduate next Friday, its all thanks to you. I've been struggling with math my entire life!
i wish you were my teacher instead of who i had now :D
i think an explanation of more complex equations would add a lot to this video. take it a step further with an equation like,
y-15 2y
____ = __
15 5
@patrickJMT why does x squared multiplied by negative 5 over x = negative 5x
I was solving with you on the 2nd problem but my final answer has different signs. The difference was you made the LEFT side equal to 0 while I made the right side equal to 0 which made my answer like this -x²+6x+4=0
which made my values a= -1 b=6 c=4
the final answer i have is = -6±√52
-2
Is it incorrect?
@casper09021992 i can only turn water into beer though
Thank you so much Sir, this is very Good!!!and thorough...Tops!!! Much love ...hope to see you in the future....older student returning to college!! may God Bless you. Atl Ga
Your videos are all very helpful. Thank you!
ms rashkovan?
You helped me more than my teacher does.
im going to tell them how much of a great help you are.
Your examples always has the number 1
Thank you for the video! :) Can you make another one? Problem solving about rational equations? Thanks :D
Thanks for your videos. You do a good job. I think you can reduce your final answer on the second problem to 3 + or - the square root of 13. (Sorry, don't know how I could type that any other way here.) Is there a reason you chose not to reduce?
Thanks. This helped a lot. I like all ur videos. Keep on making more
@Papu1234 you can love me in whatever way you want; i find them all acceptable.
You can't divide the root 52 because the 2 is outside the sqr root. You can divide if it's inside, but not outside. You can divide the 6 by 2 though.
This is really confusing!!'
i swear i may pass my math final because of you man!
Can you have some examples of solving Rational Inequalities?. Thanks.
@Nexus2Eden ha! i will start a harem with all my many math fans
I hope you do realize in the first problem you added 4 to -8 to get -4 when you should've subtracted and that would've gotten you -12 and you could've factored which would have saved you from doing the quadratic formula.
@TheTereminator ha!
My hitler-like teacher is giving us a test over everything we learned in algebra 2 last year, and you sit have saved my life.
thank you soooo much, I was lost the entire time in my math class.
I'm pretty sure the quadratic formula is:
x=-b+- sqr rt(b^2-4ac)/2b, not
x=-b+- sqr rt(b^2-4ac)/2a.
AP chem and algebra go hand in hand later on, maybe you should start watching more of these videos :D
Thank you ! Now I Know What Is Quadratic Formula
so I have this Equation that I'm having a hard time working it out.
Equation: k+4/4 + k-1/4 = k+4/4k
I break it all down until I get to the last few steps and I just cant figure it out!
^=squared
I end up with 2k^ + 2k - 4 = 0
and I'm stuck.... I don't know where to go from here
I'm thinking it's supposed to be (2k + 2)(k - 2).... BUT do I just divide 2/2k? Which would leave me with k = 1 and k = -2????
Your Videos are amazing keep up the good work. I tend to use these videos as my notes. I was looking down at my A4 paper writing down the examples and my ears confused me at 08:07 . Thought you said "On the right side I'll simply have sex".
dude, thanks. i have a test tomorrow, atleast i understand some of it now.
now time to study for bio DX
thanks bro. i was having trouble with my homework
thank yu this helped me alot in class
Awesome totally made me usertand rational expressions :D thanks so much
the last example relly helped me,your relly awssumm:)))
Could you do one where ther's a whole number in front of the variable in the denominator?
hello Patrick I have a question on one of the formulas where you used the quadratic formula and you ended up with +6 +/- the sqrt of 52 / 2, can you cancel out the 2 and six ending up with +3 +/- the sqrt of 52. Leaving it with no denominator??
in your first problem; why did the "x" come out to be x^2 over x? Aren't you multiplying it?
there is a rewind button
You are very intelligent. God bless you. Take advantage of this blessing
Thanks a lot. Really helped out!
How did it came up with -6x in your second problem? Wtf?!
Harvey Jay transpose it to the right which was -2x - 2x - 2x = -6x
then would -2x be positive since transposing it?
hey patrick, i love your videos and your presentation, but i suggest that if you go and do everything step by step, even for the basic stuff, it will make more sense to people like us who might get lost sometime while watching the problem. Thank you.
