I'm in Australia so I don't learn anything and I'm in 8th grade. Learned Calculus and matrix from some random guys textbooks and then I came here to learn everything by video. Who needs teachers when we have this guy who teach us pretty much anything we will ever need to know.
You know I've taken and past algebra a few years ago with the help of Patrick JMT but I still come back here when I need a refresher. Today I needed one in the quadratic formula and here I am, once again. Thanks Patrick.
i guess the 3 is lost as i observe 3 divided by to 6 and 24 = this will happen 3/3 =1 3/6= 2 3/24 =8 thats whyit comes out 2x - 8 and he factored by -2 and 4 ... sorry bad explanation
Dude, I have to listen to some guy that can barely speak english for hours a week on pre-calculus stuff..., I learn everything he goes on about for hours in ten minutes in your videos. I appreciate it man.
You are really helping a lot of people to get a better understanding of maths and I am just one of the many. I have a watched a couple of your videos and they are really amazing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with those of us who are not so good at maths or those of us who just were not taught properly by our teachers. Very good upload. Thanks.
@cloudlockheart93 if there is no term involving x (as in this case), you can just subtract 36 and square root both sides (so here you are square rooting a negative number so that you would get complex / imaginary solutions)
i have the grade 12 math provincial exam tuesday , this helped me a lot ! and same with the completing the square video. im so happy i found this channel, THANK YOU !
Everyone on here giving praise to you is exactly right, I failed algebra 2 my sophomore year and i am now taking it again as a junior, and i wasn't getting it again! But your videos really have helped me understand my work better. With your videos i was able to get an A last semester and most likely an A again this semester. I appreciate all the work you've put into all of your videos, even though i've only seen a few. Keep on keepin' on my dude!
@BayBeeJwlz you can just leave the solutions with the +/- as they are. not every quadratic has nice whole number solutions! but of course, ask your teacher and ask what they want you to do
this is very helpful!! thanks!! bTw i'm an engineering student here in philppines. it really helps me a lot. our proffesor didn't explain in that well.
i wish youtube had this special part of youtube just for learning stuff like math because youtube helps better than my teacher half the time if not more
Thanks patrickjmt. im in honors algerbra 2, im a sophmore in highschool and ive watched alot of your videos in my current class and when i was in geometry. They are alot of help thank you!
Thank you so so so soooooooo much!!!! an hour ago i was so confused and had no idea, but now i can actually complete these types of questions. Personally, i find it a lot easier to use to formula every time. THANKS A MILLION!
5:35 thats what i came here for, thx man, the final algebra test of the year is tommorrow and its all on the formula, you just helped me alot, i feel like ill be able to pass it now ^_^ im subscribing to you just in case i need more help, keep it up
@SublimeAmiga projectile motion, rate problems (a can do a job in 4 hours, b can do the same job in 8 hours, how long will it take them together) are two off the top of my head
Thanks man. I have understood this in like less than 10 mins. I had a two hour lecture on quadratic formula last week and the only thing I learnt was my lecturer probably smokes weed.
Really love your videos. I understand math just fine, but why spend hours reading my textbook when I can watch videos that are way better. Thanks for your videos. I would readily suggest your videos to any of my struggling classmates. They are amazing.
i first encountered "quadratic equations" on your rational exponents video. so, after i watched it, i searched for this video and - ping! - already understood it before our teacher discussed it to us.
You just saved me from failing my test tomorrow. OMG. THANK YOU. You're WAY better than my teacher who is a joke, I wish I can changer her for you!!! Omggg. Thank yoooouuuu!!
Left handed like me :D thank you a lot, great video! I don't know if I'm the first person to say this but I would suggest that you give us 2 or 3 problems to solve by ourselves and then in the description box write the answers
I'm slowing going down in my quality of math work and so are my grades. For some reason even though quadratics are easy for me on work sheets I couldn't do them on test. This defiantly helps by nicely explaining it and getting to the point, which most vids fail to do.
@Zeegoner youtube had a program where people with popular channels could charge for downloads; it was not successful and they discontinued it. so, i can not make this an option on any of my new vids, although they left it in place for any video that was already set up for downloading.
This was a life saver. thanks for posting this video. ive forgotten all of this stuff since ninth grade and colege algebra is pretty tough w/o knowing this lol.
I had a teacher that constantly mis-phrased everything and stated the opposite of what she meant, and simply could never answer any questions. I passed the class with an A, because I went out and taught myself using the Algebra for Dummies book. Mind you this was nearly 12 years ago, but it still is relevant today. Everyone that want's to learn math should make an effort to learn it on their own, because most of the teachers I have met simply can not do it themselves, so how would they teach it?
glad you like my stuff! i posted a link on the 'feed' tab of my channel page about how you can recommend to KA directly that they use my videos as well. we have discussed the possibility. any support will help!
what do you do if you are given the characteristics of vertex: (8, -2) and range -2is less than or equal to and f(x) is less than infinity and have to which function A) 1/2x^2-8x+30 B)1/2x^2-8x+31 C)-1/2x^2+8x-34 d)-1/2x^2-2x+6

thanks for the kind words and thanks for recommending me to your friends!
wow!!! where have you been all my life? you make me wanting to love Math, you break this factoring down for me. God bless you and thank you much.
Why RUclips math tutorial is more understandable than my Business math class --''
Cause I'm good!
+patrickJMT thanks man u helped me out for my exam! I appreciate that! (Dj Khaled voice)
agreed
cause your business math class is garbage no offence
same

going back to school after 7 years. this stuff is godsent

Thanks a lot for posting these videos, i have my year end math exam in a hour and i feel like this has helped me greatly
Your quadratic equation videos have helped me the most with this area of the math
This makes so much sense... but I'll probably forget it before the test next period....
i guess the 3 is lost as i observe 3 divided by to 6 and 24 = this will happen 3/3 =1 3/6= 2 3/24 =8 thats whyit comes out 2x - 8 and he factored by -2 and 4 ... sorry bad explanation
dirkmonks CooLeR In the second equation, he factored out 3. But you can just divide both sides by 3.
Dude, I have to listen to some guy that can barely speak english for hours a week on pre-calculus stuff..., I learn everything he goes on about for hours in ten minutes in your videos. I appreciate it man.

Thanks a lot man, it really helps to have a teacher even at home!

You have helped me so much in my Algebra 2 class. Thank you so much!
I seriously love your teaching, my current math teacher is a diagnosable dumbass. Good to know somone's sane, thankyou
wow you are the only person in the world who can help me understand factoring quadratic equations. thanks sir you helped me on my retake.
Im glad for you videos, my collage algebra teacher explains this stuff 100 miles an hour, skips some of the steps and I get nothing out of it.
One of the best channel on youtube for maths.
Recommended.

i wish my math teacher is like this
I LOVE the way you teach, I have struggled trying to understand what and why we are doing this and now I get it =) So happy TY!!
@BayBeeJwlz you can just leave the solutions with the +/- as they are. not every quadratic has nice whole number solutions! but of course, ask your teacher and ask what they want you to do
thank you very much!, I missed a day of class and, in just 13 minutes, I was completely caught up.
You're a god. Saved my life for an exam two days from now..
@TheNeisha17 factoring, quadratic formula, graphing, completing the square. those are the typical ways to solve a quadratic equation.
Thank you buddy...you won my subscription... keep the vids coming!
@bethanyjchan you are welcome
this is very helpful!! thanks!! bTw i'm an engineering student here in philppines. it really helps me a lot. our proffesor didn't explain in that well.
Thanks, I have an exam on this in a couple days so this was helpful
i wish youtube had this special part of youtube just for learning stuff like math because youtube helps better than my teacher half the time if not more

Thank you, I really needed this, I fell asleep during class.
OMG YOUR A LIFE SAVER! Your actually a better teacher than mine.
your vids always help me , you have the clearest explanations. thank you!
glad to help. and in regards to the advertisements: that is why it is free to watch these videos! :)
@pscjenny yes and no, i guess. would be nice to have a bit of motivation though!
Thank you so so so soooooooo much!!!! an hour ago i was so confused and had no idea, but now i can actually complete these types of questions. Personally, i find it a lot easier to use to formula every time. THANKS A MILLION!
you are one of the most clear explainers on youtube thanks so much!
Thanks for the help. This is the best explanation I've gotten on these concepts thus far.
Thank you i learned more in 12 minutes then what i was supposed to in 45
5:35 thats what i came here for, thx man, the final algebra test of the year is tommorrow and its all on the formula, you just helped me alot, i feel like ill be able to pass it now ^_^ im subscribing to you just in case i need more help, keep it up
Man you just gave me a better under standing at this, i also went ahead and substituted X for -2 in the original equation and i got 0 !!!! cheers
@SublimeAmiga projectile motion, rate problems (a can do a job in 4 hours, b can do the same job in 8 hours, how long will it take them together) are two off the top of my head
You are better than my college professors!
@jiuop i would use the quadratic formula in that case to find any roots/ zeros / solutions
my pleasure, happy to help :)
another math teahcer that does lessons online through his channel on youtube or website!! he is known to be one of the best!
You explain it so clearly!! Thank you so much.
thanks dude this helped a lot hopefully I'll remember this on my test tomorrow lol.
Thanks man. I have understood this in like less than 10 mins. I had a two hour lecture on quadratic formula last week and the only thing I learnt was my lecturer probably smokes weed.

I may not be ready for this kind of math in my school but I need to know it asap and this maybe next of what we are going to learn
DUDE!!! U soooo just did my math home work!!! Sooo mich better than my teacher!!!! Thanks!!!
dude i actually love you i am in gr 10 academic math and im really struggling im just nearly passing you helped me alot! :) thank you!
you've made me understand this better! this'll really help me in physics.
thanks so much for this video. Just shared it with my college class!
You sir, are the reason i'm NOT going to fail this test tomorrow. Student teacher couldn't teach. Glad someone can
Hey, this video really helped. I learnt this at school, but this completely refreshed my memory.
Thanks a lot!!! Very...very good teacher!!! Amazing how maths can be easy depending on the teacher!!!
good luck!!
if you run into magnus carlsen, tell him patrickjmt says hello.
please make more!!!!! i aced my igcse exams because of this THANK YOU
Great help for students like myself taking online courses without a teacher. Thank you
Explanation is really good thanks man
i first encountered "quadratic equations" on your rational exponents video. so, after i watched it, i searched for this video and - ping! - already understood it before our teacher discussed it to us.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am not failing math anymore thanks to you!
You just saved me from failing my test tomorrow. OMG. THANK YOU. You're WAY better than my teacher who is a joke, I wish I can changer her for you!!! Omggg. Thank yoooouuuu!!

@Killadelphi420 ha, no problem
Thanks this video really helped!!! Great job you spoke clearly and slowly and explained things fully. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much! I understand your videos better than my own math teacher! thank you thank you thank you!
i missed 6 months of grade 10 (austrailan to canadian courses) and missed all that. THank u very much

Thanks my new teacher!
man, thanks a lot, this is the clearest tut about quadratic equation, and i got leaned from it! THANKS!
Great Job with the explanation. Had a little problem with the solution breakdown from educosoft tutorial, and your video helped.
Well this explanation was way better than my teacher's. Thanks! :D
Got a big test thank you for the help!!!
Thank you for your videos, they are helping me make progress and shed light on the subject at hand. :)
dude thank you so much!! why I never learned this is beyond me
I had a teacher that constantly mis-phrased everything and stated the opposite of what she meant, and simply could never answer any questions. Good job, man.
glad you like my stuff! i posted a link on the 'feed' tab of my channel page about how you can recommend to KA directly that they use my videos as well. we have discussed the possibility. any support will help!
Hi Patrick, please answer this! How did you get -4 at the end of the second equation?
I Subscribed to you since i was in grade 9,you helped me ace more than 20 quizes and exams :'D
no problem!
@matxloco I don't know if any1 told you, but you just minus it from the right and the left so you are left with 9x^2-12x+1=0
Thanks for the great explanations. You make algebra understandable. Awesome job!
you're a king.
Thank you so much!! I now understand quadratic equations better, thanks to your video. :)
This really helps! Thank you!
Thank you so much your saving my grade in math God is surely going to bless you

@pyreshadow good luck on the test.
your handwriting and the way you teach is better than my teacher.
