    I'm in Australia so I don't learn anything and I'm in 8th grade. Learned Calculus and matrix from some random guys textbooks and then I came here to learn everything by video. Who needs teachers when we have this guy who teach us pretty much anything we will ever need to know.

    You know I've taken and past algebra a few years ago with the help of Patrick JMT but I still come back here when I need a refresher. Today I needed one in the quadratic formula and here I am, once again. Thanks Patrick.

      i guess the 3 is lost as i observe 3 divided by to 6 and 24 = this will happen 3/3 =1 3/6= 2 3/24 =8 thats whyit comes out 2x - 8 and he factored by -2 and 4 ... sorry bad explanation

    • @joshnewman9311
      @joshnewman9311 10 лет назад

      dirkmonks CooLeR In the second equation, he factored out 3. But you can just divide both sides by 3.

    You are really helping a lot of people to get a better understanding of maths and I am just one of the many. I have a watched a couple of your videos and they are really amazing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with those of us who are not so good at maths or those of us who just were not taught properly by our teachers. Very good upload. Thanks.

    @cloudlockheart93 if there is no term involving x (as in this case), you can just subtract 36 and square root both sides (so here you are square rooting a negative number so that you would get complex / imaginary solutions)

    Everyone on here giving praise to you is exactly right, I failed algebra 2 my sophomore year and i am now taking it again as a junior, and i wasn't getting it again! But your videos really have helped me understand my work better. With your videos i was able to get an A last semester and most likely an A again this semester. I appreciate all the work you've put into all of your videos, even though i've only seen a few. Keep on keepin' on my dude!

    I'm slowing going down in my quality of math work and so are my grades. For some reason even though quadratics are easy for me on work sheets I couldn't do them on test. This defiantly helps by nicely explaining it and getting to the point, which most vids fail to do.

    I had a teacher that constantly mis-phrased everything and stated the opposite of what she meant, and simply could never answer any questions. I passed the class with an A, because I went out and taught myself using the Algebra for Dummies book. Mind you this was nearly 12 years ago, but it still is relevant today. Everyone that want's to learn math should make an effort to learn it on their own, because most of the teachers I have met simply can not do it themselves, so how would they teach it?
