Mom had many of the same books you displayed on your table. I wasn't able to keep many when she passed, but still have some of her favorites. Mom was also a personal friend of Dorothea Johnson (re: 7:03), and that's where her love of tea and etiquette began. Fun fact: Mrs. Johnson is the grandmother of actress Liv Tyler. 😊

What great fun facts! I did not know Mrs Johnson’s connection to Liv Tyler. I bet your mom’s tea book collection was excellent.

I always look forward to seeing your Sunday tea videos Sonya. ☕❤
That's a fine collection of books you have there. I'm a book lover too. All my bookshelves are full. I only wish I had room for more. I suppose I could squeeze a few more in if I tried really hard. Such as The East India Book of Tea which I just ordered. 😁
Thank you very much for the mention. 👍I'm sure you'll enjoy Maw Broon's Afternoon Tea Book although you may have a little trouble understanding some of the Scottish words. 😀 Taking another quick glance through it I note that it has a section on what to do with napkins. When you leave the table you should put them to the left of your plate Do NOT put them on the chair when you leave the table as someone sitting on a jam stained napkin is a sure way to ruin an upholstered chair.
Further on, one of the bairns has 'scribbled' a little note in the book saying 'When you are stressed you eat ice cream, cakes and sweets...because stressed is desserts spelled backwards.😂
Another English tradition is the Tea interval at a village cricket cricket match. The wives and partners serve everything you would expect for tea and sometimes for exotic things. One year they had competition, broadcast on the test Match Special programme, about which village made the best tea. The judge was ex-England cricket captain Mike Gatting, who is well know for his enjoyment of food. He's the spitting image of King Henry VIII. 😁😁
I'm listening to county cricket commentary at the moment and they're debating on how to make a good cup of tea. One commentator is shocked that his co-commentator doesn't like tea from a pot! He's so shocked he can hardly commentate.' A tea bag in a cup is the modern lazy way to do it' he says. Then he goes on to explain how to make tea properly in a pot.

The moment your video started,my eye caught the tiny tome "Tea Time" and I thought 'Hey! I've got that! I've had it for years!' Looking over your collection, you have so many of the same books I have in my own library. 😊

After living the UK, I collected many books on English methods of tea, then after living in Asian I've expanded to Japanese tea service, Chinese gong fu, I'd like to learn more about Russian tea as well as Moroccan! So fascinating how many cultures enjoy tea. I do recall while in the food hall of Fortnum and Mason's in Piccadilly (once the only location when I lived there, now it's all over) they have a centuries old large board on the wall listing all the major cities of the world and which tea goes best with the local water!

Robert Fortune, who stole tea from China, wrote a book about his travels (ahem), & it's a fascinating read as far as primary sources go.

Would you be allowed to share which social media tea groups you belong to? Many times I have googled for tea party groups online but I keep getting "how to have a tea party" or its political. thank you

If you are on Facebook, do a search for ‘afternoon tea’, and a long list will pop up! Look for those with a good amount of members and ones that average a post of several times a day - meaning they have involved active members. Afternoon Tea Across America is a large group with a number of active members!

@sonyavs455 Article on our local news.
'Tea lovers have just been given a huge range of choice after a store with 100 blends opened in Newcastle city centre.
Bird and Blend Tea Co. opened its new store on Grainger Street this Monday (May 20), with six new roles created. As well as serving the classics like Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey, there are weird and whimsical flavours on offer such as "moondrop dreams", "bonfire toffee", and "enchanted Narnia".' 😁
