I vividly remember that I played a pre-release version of Halo 2 at a Dutch E3 like event called Power Unlimited Gameplay. This must have been around September 2004, 2 months before release. It was a fully playable Zanzibar map and you had to beg to get in. I got in last minute and I remember the shield hud was centered on the top of the screen, instead of the bottom left we all know. But for the life of me I cannot find any images of that. Not even in this deepdive
Never a sure thing but sometimes those disks pop up on places, I wouldn't know what to exactly search but using languages specific to the region of the build could narrow things down, or even a mention further than what's known.
We need more content like this in the Halo community, rather than clickbait/"ZOMG 343 is XYZ..."/doom & gloom that most Halo RUclipsrs do. Great video, keep it up
Tbf you can only beat the same old dead horse so many times. After a massive 5 hour vid like this, what content is there left to make? 343 is an objectively terrible development company who have created an objectively terrible game with Infinite. What type of "positive" content do you expect people to make? "Wow, 343's latest update is... decent!" doesn't draw views so those videos are literally a waste of time to make. Don't blame the community for reacting to what's in front of them. If you're sitting at a table and the waiter serves you a steaming terd on a platter, are you going to eat it and smile just for the sake of not being "doom and gloom"? That would be absurd. Of course you're going to tell the waiter and other people who might visit the restaurant that you are unhappy with the terd you were served.
59:30 Paul Russel actually confirmed that in Halo 3 lore, Forerunners were ALWAYS humans. Non-human forerunners are a 343 invention. The terminals and the ARG show us ancient primitive humans on Earth. Was really hoping that the misinformation about the Halo 2 Vista test maps would have been resolved in this compilation. Earth City and Beach Day were both test maps that Hired Gun released back in the day as part of the documentation on how to build these maps, and how to use the different tilesets effectively. They were built to test the documentation and help show players how to build maps with things like water in them. The HiredGun Dev that made those maps went by the handle "NitrousOxide" back in the day (Dunno if he still does.) He had this to say about releasing the maps on the H2Vista forums, (eventually rebranded to Modacity) In a thread titled "Look who is releasing custom maps already" "NitrousOxide May 25th, 2007, 10:58 AM Thank you guys so much for the kind thoughts. These are only two of a bajillion maps I've made over here at Hired Gun. Some of those maps I'll probably get clearance to release, some of which will never leave these card-key-protected doors. These two are just simple example maps I've made to basically demostrate the ease of the editting kit. Both of these maps were developed in almost no time at all. It took me about a day (9-5 work day) to get each map to a playable, testable, decently polished state. Then, I took about the rest of the week to fine tune, adjust based on feedback and test, test, test. All in all, point is that these maps took very little time to develop, using basic knowledge from the Halo CE HEK and a firm passion for map making. Believe me when I tell you, ANYONE can do this. It's by far the easiest custom map pipeline I've ever dealt with for any game, including Half-Life and UT. I'm glad you guys like what you see. I apologize if the layouts aren't perfect and weapons might be unbalanced, and yes I know, the maps are relatively simple, but the point of them was to simply show off how rediculously easy this stuff is to do. The Library is fucking awesome. I love fighting the flood it's so satisfying blasting them with shotguns and pistols.
I get that it's long and repetitive but I'm glad it is, the longer the campaign the better. More Halo CE for me!
Bro, the Library is not a phase of the game. It's a test of mental stability 💀
And okay, I adapt to the Flood hordes, but really something this long gets boring. But I'll always play this test of mental stability :)
thank you for the perfect video to fall asleep to. exactly what i needed & i have a feeling a lot of others agree
Halo is such a perfect name. It fits the feel of the Bungie games so well.
There’s a cut scene in SSX 360 where you see two guys wearing the master chief helmet
damn boys, thank you for this vid. The Bungie era is really great to the extent that even in 2024 you can make content out of it
Man I miss watching rocket sloth back in the day
I swear that one time I was playing H2 campaign... riding around with Elites in a Spire... and I was trying to keep them all alive, so I was going about taking away their rocket launchers... and one of them said "Ass...hole?" I did have the IWHBD skull on and I would really like to know if anyone could ever verify if a sound file exists like that. Pretty sure I wasn't hallucinating. I know Elites don't like it when you take their good weapons but sheesh! LoL!
5 hours of pure cut content goodness. 😎 Also still can't believe my Dr Disrespect shitpost mod blew up so much.
2:56:00 Whoo, Titan! Man I wish more of the game was preserved, cause I wanna play with the features it had in the default Halo sandbox
I remember when i got halo 2 and the xbox for Christmas and my first xbox live session with my 4 friends 😂 man those days were so much fun, all those days on blood gulch and the warthog trick shots 😂
Killer video, took me 4 days to finish it lmao
this thumbnail changing while i keep coming back is too funny
Hearing Cortana sing is both awesome and haunting
oh damn i’m early live ur longer vids keep it up
