Nephi Breaks His Bow | 1 Nephi

- Hard times always follow blessings. The wooden hunting bows lose their springs, and Nephi's metal bow breaks, leaving them unable to kill game for food. Even Lehi begins to complain about the Lord having abandoned them as they suffer for lack of food.
1 Nephi 16:18-22:
18 And it came to pass that as I, Nephi, went forth to slay food, behold, I did break my bow, which was made of fine steel; and after I did break my bow, behold, my brethren were angry with me because of the loss of my bow, for we did obtain no food.
19 And it came to pass that we did return without food to our families, and being much fatigued, because of their journeying, they did suffer much for the want of food.
20 And it came to pass that Laman and Lemuel and the sons of Ishmael did begin to murmur exceedingly, because of their sufferings and afflictions in the wilderness; and also my father began to murmur against the Lord his God; yea, and they were all exceedingly sorrowful, even that they did murmur against the Lord.
21 Now it came to pass that I, Nephi, having been afflicted with my brethren because of the loss of my bow, and their bows having lost their springs, it began to be exceedingly difficult, yea, insomuch that we could obtain no food.
22 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, did speak much unto my brethren, because they had hardened their hearts again, even unto complaining against the Lord their God.

This lesson taught me things. Last winter I lost my mom and when the county shoved that inheritance tax down my dads throat I almost lost everything. I'm slowly trying to rebuild my life but it will take time and my dad, my brothers, my sister, and my sister and brother in-law plus my nieces and nephews will help me along the way. The Lord gave the Liahona to Father Lehi for a reason he needed it to guide his family. Leman and Lemuel, Sam, and the Sons of Ismael rejected its teachings only Nephi and Jacob were faithful and fallowed its teaches. The Lord will help us he helped my family after I lost my mom all we have to do is listen to the spirit and read the words of the Lord and we will never get lost.
"Stay on the path. The Lord will provide." I'll remember that.
I'm grateful that this book teaches me so much about Jesus Christ. He is in fact my #1 home dawg. I've been watching these videos before bed; I feel peace enter my room every time I do. Can't wait for the next episode.
I just love Fridays when the new ones come. But I am also grateful for the shorter versions. Great for teaching and seeing small things we otherwise don't notice.

It's hard to believe a man of faith such as Lehi could fall so low as to murmur against the lord, but it is important to remember the only perfect man on earth has come and gone and will come again.
We all get tested and everyone has a breaking point.
Music, Reminds me of Moses's story of weakness and small things he did that were not pleasing to the Lord.
People were surprised when Moses got 'called out' by God and punished. The people couldn't understand that such a great prophet as Moses got caught and punished... the Lord reminded the people "NO UNCLEAN THING CAN ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD".

srini, yes, really breath taking... as the new generation (grandkids of Lehi) came forth to him for their grandfather's blessings. I cried and cried to see how strong and believing they were.
I just went through that this last winter I lost my mom and the county shoved a death tax down my dads throat. I almost lost everything and had to rebuild. It will take time but my family is here to support me and thats what counts.

Nephi and Jacob did not reject the Lord and Nephi went out and did something about it as you will see in the next part of this presentation. We need the Lord he will always be there to help us if we just listen.
How can anyone watch this movie and not blink normally oh well, Tomorrow the Temple
