Nephi is one of the greatest prophets whose example shows obedience. So grateful for the Book of Mormon brought forth for us in these Latter days. It is evident of so many individuals around today with attitudes of Laman and Lemual who are unfaithful and unbelieving. Heavenly Fathers love today is much more evident to those who are obedient and keep His commandments. His love is felt daily and He gives tender mercies daily to the obedient. Same today as of ancient days. Correct source : lds.org
This isn't how I imagine this happening . 1. We know Laman and Lemuel tried to kill Nephi many times. 2. When they got angry, they attempted to murder their brother. 3. Laman and Lemuel were admonished not to place their hands on him because they were trying to seriously injure or kill him, but Nephi was on God's errand. The murderous brothers tried to seize him but we're rebuked. I believe this was the moment the Lord told Nephi to extend his hand and he would shock his brothers. I could be wrong but this is just the way I've always thought about it.. These were not unimportant matters, this was life and death and entire continents of civilizations and many, many generations at stake. This was not a game, it was the power of God unto Salvation. Millions of people's fates were in Nephi's (the Lord's) hands, including ours. There would have been no Book of Mormon if Nephi had not had the faith to do what the Lord commanded of him. He was so powerful because he prayed and had faith in Christ, so he could have split the sea, or turned it into land if God commanded him to do so. He obediently shocked his brothers because God asked him to do it, and he did. It's amazing how with faith in God, all things are possible.
@Mike it wasn't just that they hated God or tried to kill their own family (they would have if God didn't protect His own). It wasn't just that they refused to obey after seeing an angel, having a prophet brother and father, and the miracles of God all around them. It wasn't just that they became a dark, loathsome and filthy people. And it wasn't just that they refused to partake of the love of God when everyone around them were beckoning them to come. Laman and Lemuel did not realize either that a loving God will inevitably be a tutoring Father, who wants His children to be truly happy and to come home. Not understanding God’s “dealings” sufficiently, Laman and Lemuel missed the most important attribute of God’s character-His love! Thus their murmuring was a symptom of a pathetic pathology. Laman and Lemuel did not understand the relationship of mortals with God, and, worse still, they did not really want to understand. They sought to keep their distance from God. Furthermore, being intellectually lazy, they did not count their blessings, when gratitude could have lessened the distance..... www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/1999/10/lessons-from-laman-and-lemuel?lang=eng
Nephi speaks with power and authority to his two older brothers, Laman and Lemuel, who mock him. Nephi reminds them of God's beneficent dealings with their ancestors, the children of Israel. He also reminds them that they themselves have seen an angel and that the Lord has spoken to them. As Nephi speaks to his brothers he is filled with the Spirit of God. #FaithToAct
*Lemuel: You are not Moses.* I know it’s the video, but aren’t we told the same thing by the adversary? “You can’t do this, even with God’s help-you’re no so-and-so.” Speaking of Moses, Satan tried to call him “Son of Man” after he’d just had a vision where God called him his son. The adversary tells us we’re worthless; God tells us we’re precious, and we’re His. Man, I need to remember that.
Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, younger brother. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the brass plates or given you clairvoyance enough to find the promised land. I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Thanks again for another well made, truth filled video! It makes my day and fills my heart with joy and happiness and peace and the Spirit of God!

Why aren't the videos in proper sequence ?
Great cinematography. Wish they had not done the voice overs, kinda ruins the scenes.

Did you notice they have the same hair dresser? I believe what Nephi said in the BOM.
Nephi: Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side.
