Awesome video and the bike turned out AMAZING PAL. And yes I hear ya I'll try and keep up with it and keep it clean. Like u said I ride the crap outta this thing and don't spend much time cleaning. So thanks again Steve for treating my BABY with some tender care.
Another Great video Steve. I usually buy some multi packs of microfiber towels from Harbor Freight, to use as wipe down towels. I’ve began using your tip with the ziplock bags.
Hey Tony!! We jst got a Harbour Frieght here in my hometown...I call it the Toy Store haha Been in there a lot. Excellent man im glad you got a tip out of the vid. Very easy and cheap way of keeping your tools clean in the ole dirty garage. Have a great Christmas my friend!!
Just watched this vid, had to subscribe. I've watched about 15 other RUclips people on detailing and yours was step by step, why this step first with what product and results you look for in each step. I put on about 20k, or a set of tires a year on my street bike, currently a '18 electra glide ultra couch. The bike lives outside with a full cover in bad weather and a 1/2 cover used daily. Here in the desert, Winnemucca NV. there is a lot of wind driven sand in the air, daily dusting in the house it is so bad at times. I'll watch both vids, need to watch 1st vid now and purchase products you suggested. My method has been weekly rinsing with a small weed sprayer, hand washing with turtle wax brand car wash then turtle wax spray n wipe to finish it. Never looks showroom shiny/ doesn't pop like what that bike looked like. Thanks again for your content.
I just bought an HD ultra classic that has lacked TLC. I bought a compound polish to take out the deep dirt (from many years) used a small hand power polisher wow, Meguires 205 fine polish (power polish) and Meguires clear polish and (power polish) now I can see my face in the paint. I also use the compound and Meguires 205 on the Chrome (power polish) and finish using microfiber and cotton to finish and buff. Incredible. Thank you Meguires.
Finally someone who doesn't soak down a bike with soap and water/foam cannon, etc... there is so much bad info on RUclips. Thanks for a great vid sharing useful information. Subscribed.
What’s wrong with soap and water? it does the same job in less time. I don’t think a foam cannon or pressure washer is needed though. It’s more of a personal preference or on some jobs you have to use the waterless wash it’s just more time consuming. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from detailing my own bike
Thanks for the great videos! I really like the way you present them and the level of detail (pun intended) that you cover the steps. I need to do some paint correction on my black Softail, I think that clear coat is made of butter - it scratches if you look at it wrong. Now I am inspired to get it done! I wish I could use my porter cable but there are so few spots where you can use it, it's probably easier to do the whole thing by hand. This will be my first attempt hand polishing a bike.
Even LOL I feel your pain ...Ive detailed so many black bikes..they all come in looking like they were cleaned with a weed eater. Doing it by hand is much more time consuming for sure. There are spots on these bikes I have to do by hand just because I cannot get the 3" pad in there. But when its done...whew! like glass!
Great video Steven, I picked up some new tips even after doing bike detailing for 40 years! I like Wizards products also but I'm gonna try some of that H2NO. I especially liked the claybar instruction!
Did you use the HD engine brightener on the exhaust as well? Or is there another product/wax you used to make the flat black on the exhaust to shine a little more?
Thanks Jimmie...yeah this bike has never seen a hose and maybe caught in the rain a few times but thats about it..super easy to clean with the mess of washing with a hose and the trying to dry everything. Thanks for checking out the video!
Can u send me a write up of everything u used from start to finish my bike has been sitting for the past two years and I need to get it looking new again. Thank u
Hey I just talked to Ron over at KW Illinois and he said he is in demand of the product but doesnt have any in stock...Ive reached out to Art over the main KW in cali and had no response yet on when it will get filled.
Steve My H2no seems very thick when I spray it! I have tried shaking the bottle to mix it up but still comes out thick! Yours seems to spray out in a nice mist and covers the bike well! Mine is just a glob!
Hey Adam...check the filter in the sprayer itself....run some hot water through it and make sure its not gunked up for some reason. Pour some out into a bowl to see how viscous it is....if its really thick I would add a touch of water to it....its all water based.
Nice job Steve 👍. Great videos on the products and how to clean the bike...lot of good information. How about you come clean my bike lol. Merry Christmas happy holidays
hey, great vid. the clay bar you used to clean the one one on your video, is it easy to use that in the wrong way and cause a problem, as long as you keep it wet? thanks
as long as you keep the bar and surface wet and continually flip and knead the bar it will be fine..you shouldnt bee taking out huge chunks of anything that may scratch the clear.remove that stuff by washing or other chemicals depending on what your removing..then clay...this is for fine contaminants
hahah yeah man...she was a bit rough! I shot this video a few years ago and this bike is actually in my shop right now again for the same treatment. lol
Awesome video, I appreciate the content. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from killerrwaxx after watching your videos. What does lighter cleaning in between these deep details look like? Coming back from a ride and getting the road grit and bugs off. Thanks in advance
@@sikbaggers hey sikbaggers!! From chicago too!! How would clean the boke after a ride after a nice detail like this one??? Also, what kind of liquid did you use to clean engine and wheel?
This is a great video. I'm not sure I can find H2NO right here (I'm in France) so I bought Ecosmart By Chemical Guys (Waterless wash product too) So as to clean the engine with the toothbrush, what is the product that you use?
The Chemical guys stuff is pretty good too...as far as cleaning the motor I use a simple degreaser and toothbrush and some shop towels to wipe it up...you want to use a shop towel that isnt going to leave fibers all over the black wrinkle finish.
Hi Steve. Could you give me some info about the clay that you use. Like what it's called and where to get it. Are there different grits of it. I'm a new subscriber and I need to clean my Road King.
Hey David been on vacation sorry about the late reply..this is the clay I use on everything..also just use any quick detailer you like with it smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G3EAGFG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not if its not neccessarry, no. I usually consider decon on an "as-needed basis. but if you are going to use an iron remover, then yes, before clay is my preferred method.
Nice video. But I have a question though - how do you clean or detail the gloss black engine covers that Harley-Davidson now loves to use on many new models? I mean can you repair scratches just like you would on a regular paint and should you wax it given how hot it gets from the engine?
Your doing it wrong bro Squeeze a little dawn soap and water in a spray bottle spray the whole engine with it use a soft bristle pointy brush after that you use a water hose to rinse the area you will not get anything on the speakers.
weird... a make a shit ton of money "doing it wrong" While your method will work..I don't use a water hose in my shop....why would I want all that mess in my shop? come on man
Yeah I really only bust out the hoses on the bad bad bikes..and if they aren't covered in aftermarket audio...some bikes really just need the hose lol but yeah 98% of time..waterless.
well f11 is a sealant...your paint has to be in the best possible shape you can get it, as shown in this video, before you aply the f11. There is nothing wrong with f11 other than most folks are mislead as to what it does or can do. If your bike is brand new...apply it...if its not..you better get it right before you apply it...it wont "magically restore' your paint.
I just bought a 2005 Dyna Custom after a 23 year hiatus. Beautiful job. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you Stephen..much appreciated man.
Detailing a motorcycle for the first time today and part 1 & 2 are exactly what I needed. Much Appreciated guys!

What do you use to polish the chrome?
Awesome video!! Going to do this for my street glide from now on. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for checking it out Monique! Keep em shiny!

Steve, i just got a email from sam, they now have my color. Thank you for all of your help.

i use alcohol to clean my chrome. pour some in a spray bottle. Like Windex to glass
Nice...only used alcohol on chrome when i was removing stickers...I always followed it up with some wax though.
Wow, what a difference! Great tips .
Thank you...much appreciated
Great videos! But seriously, say Guys ONE more time! ;)
Ahhahhahhhha Yeah...I notice that when I am editing.. Been trying to crop that out. Thanks for checking them out though...much appreciated
you guys are too sensitive about you guys.
What's ur opinion on using ceramic coating liquids
I was wondering that as well. I saw one video on it.

Not if its not neccessarry, no. I usually consider decon on an "as-needed basis. but if you are going to use an iron remover, then yes, before clay is my preferred method.
Will the pineapple express work with the clay bar also. I seen you used the northern lights detail spray.
yes it will..any kind of quick detailer that doesnt instantly dry up when wiped will work as a lubrication

I clean them up with the h2no and wax them...it seems to have a clear on it and you could use a polish on them if you get scratched up. It cant hurt.
What stand do you have this bike on?
This is an older craftsman stand.
Sucks that Rim job is out of stock
