I've only just started HRT, but have identified as TG for a long time. "Two Spirited" was a term that got me through for a bit, but in the end I had no choice but to transition. You are right in having a good support network of friends. They have supported me for a long time and are with me now - they know this won't be easy. Online support, therapy and even RUclips are invaluable as well so you can have questions answered and not feel alone or that you may be crazy.

Amber! This has cleared some things up for me, even after today I had my official diagnosis of Dysphoria and have been able to start my long awaited journey towards hormones. I have been watching your videos hoping for support and you've given me that and so much more! I realise now that I can be who I want to be. Much love, Laurel

I think I would be dead if I hadn’t transitioned.I had a couple of mental breakdowns prior to transitioning where I just couldn’t cope with life. Its not great being transsexual but at least you are being true to yourself and living an authentic life.I have been mentally stable since transition and feel at peace with myself and like who I am .I think those are the biggest benefits for me.

Having started transitioning in 2009 and living full time I was full of life but now that it's 2021 and I have failed to achieve surgery several times I do sometimes wish I hadn't bothered. I'm now just feel like I'm living as a crossdresser with no hope of surgery. Feel lost and abandoned by the gender clinics now especially since covid.

Great answer! I'd just like to add my little contribution to add to people's knowledge both for people who feel trans but are still questioning, closeted or early on in transition and also for cis ppl who may not use the best wording or know the best words to use in discussions like this.
For anyone closeted, questioning or early on in transition: being trans isn't something people can choose - if you're trans/gender nonconforming/genderfluid or any other nonbinary gender that's who you are and it'll never change. You make the choice of if and when you come out. Yes trans ppl in unnacepting or transphobic environments don't always come out at the same time if ever and some do commit suicide regardless of whether they are closeted, come out or are anywhere in transition and if anyone out there is feeling suicidal please do talk to someone be it a friend or a helpline 💛
For cis ppl looking to educate themselves or become better allies: no transgender person chooses to be transgender. We all are transgender and that doesn't change. It isn't about wanting at all. It takes more guts than anything to come out as trans, to transition and to present as ourselves and it takes do so much to do it. Please treat every trans person as an individual no matter what stage they're at or where you meet them and it never hurts to ask about their experience of being trans as long as you respect their name, privacy and pronouns. It doesn't hurt or cost you anything effort or money to just ask, just please never ask about our genitals, sex life or dating life as it's offensive and you wouldn't ask a cisgender person what genitals they have or how they have sex.
And for anyone closeted, questioning, going through transition or who has transitioned however is right for them I'm always here for you should you need someone to talk to 😊

I thought you handled this question with a lot of class, concern, and love for the person who made the original comment.

I was wondering if you've done a video on how being transgender can impacts the realationship you have with your family
