what type of wood do u use? do u need to seal it before applying gesso? thanks

Hello! We used cabinet grade plywood as it does not have any pits or defects in the surface. It was 1/2" plywood. We have also used 3/4" for bigger paintings. We did not seal it prior to the gesso. Only sanded the surface slightly and knocked down all the corners. Thanks! :)
