    I’m always surprised at the lens by which miniaturists view the world. Who would have thought an earring back would look like faucet hardware? That grommet is a perfect drain.

    • @queencityminis

      I'm so psyched about that. I just bought the earring backs very recently.

    First of all, BRAVO for not using a 3D printer to make this. I absolutely appreciate that the sink was totally hand made. It turned out perfect - looking at it, I would have thought it was purchased. Second, you CRACK ME UP. I love your dry wit - "to be safe, have someone else hold it" - yup, love it!!! ;)

    i am so in love with this porcelain look! miniature "toilet aisle at lowes" project here i come!!! In my real 1870 house, we have a lot of iron pipes used for little handrails on all of the outdoor stairs. These q-tip pipes are going to make an appearance as railings for sure! good stuff!

      @@queencityminis it'd be super easy. I'll just get a victorian dollhouse and an ebay lot of barbie clothes. Cover every surface with laundry .. piles and piles of tiny laundry. Voila! Seriously though, I'm currently sketching out a little courtyard area of our yard that I want to put inside a fancy victorian greenhouse that I'm making as a stained glass project. Also my 7 y.o. daughter and I are planning a dollhouse rehab youtube channel as a summer project, for better or worse. I don't know how you content creators manage ideas and projects so well!

      Thank you! I didn't realize how truly ugly the beginning stages were until I read the comments. I knew it turned out great, so I was unconcerned. It really did look like a mess in the beginning 😆 I like creating shapes likes this by baking a simple shape first and using liquid clay and clay to add basic shapes around it. It's so much easier than trying to sculpt all of it at once. This was easy; baked basin from a sheet of clay, then three sheets for the top, front, and back.

    • @queencityminis
      @queencityminis  11 месяцев назад +1

      To make it easier to sculpt, I baked the bowl part separately to hold the shape. I didn't want to have to keep fixing it as I added the flat sink part and formed the back. It's easier to make a couple different geometric shapes and combine them than it is to sculpt everything at once. I only baked this one as I was making it, but a more complicated shape would be baked multiple times.
