How to Improve Recording Quality in OBS Studio - Fix Blurry Recordings

- In this video I show you how to improve recording quality in OBS Studio. There are a few reasons why you may have poor recording quality. One of the more common reasons being that the output resolution is set too low. If your output resolution is set low then you will have bad recording quality as there isn’t enough pixels to create a high quality image.
Another way that you can improve recording quality in OBS is to increase your bitrate. Your bitrate controls how much used to make every second of the video. Having the bitrate set too low will cause bad recording quality as there isn’t enough information being saved. Using a bitrate of at least 10000 for 1080p recordings will give better quality recording without having the file size be too large. If you have a good PC you can always increase the bitrate further to improve recording quality even more.
If you’re using the CQP rate control option then you can adjust the video quality through the CQ level. The lower the CQ level the better quality your OBS recording will be. Typically using a CQ level of 18 will work fine, providing a decent file size and good recording quality.
Another option is to reduce your frame rate, however, this isn’t recommended for gameplay. The frame rate or FPS controls how many times the video is updated per second. Setting the FPS to 30 means your bitrate is being used across 30 different images, not 60. This allows you to improve recording quality without increasing the bitrate.

i ve seen so many videos but nothing seems to work for me , might be a problem with pc/internet at this point idk
i have an amd cpu 5600x and amd gpu 6650xt .. internet upload speed is 10 mb/s
not sure if these are enough for 1080p 60fps recordings
Thanks for the video. I was wondering what king of magnifier/zoom in tool are you using?
Adobe Premiere Keyframes - Ease out the first keyframe, ease in the second keyframe.
You can set up keyboard shortcuts to apply the ease in and out effect to make it easier
love you :)
thanks
for some, the encoder settings might be in a diff section
do you know where?
under streamingt
work thx
I can’t find the encoder menu? I am genuinely considering giving up on obs because I have spent the whole day trying to fix I need some help!
what is this version
Can i set both base and output resolutions to 1440p?
You get the best qualaty when you cgo to encoder setting and go to rate control and click CQP , then clik the CQ level , so lower that level so higher is your qualaty , i have 14
Theats best
i dont have bit rate option in settings
Mine doesn't have preset, tuning multipass mode how do I navigate that?
my encoder settings under rate control says says ABR?
Can't find encorder settings
click advance
Still cant@@shredy.productions
I dont have encoder part
What if we have potato pc ?
I don’t have encoder settings
i don't even have the encoder section in recording.....
U need to change the video encoder setting
You have to first select a Video Encoder, located right under Recording Format
My recording still looks like dog
I can’t find bitrate
i dont see the encoder settings
Hi, I need help. I recorded videos with CQP 15-20 and CBR 15-20 kbps. They look fine in the raw file and in my editing software, but when I upload to RUclips, high-motion scenes get blurry (I usually play GTA Online).
Are you rendering the video in your editing program before uploading to RUclips? Also what program are you using?
@@slurptechYes i am rendering the video before uploading to youtube, i am using clipchamp for editing and it only has one free export option and no other settings so my video was capped at 1080p 30fps(i record in 1080p 60fps), now learning premiere pro as i have adobe software
ahh i needed to fix the bitrate thats why
My encoder doesn’t even have a cbr setting it just says ABR
try updating your obs
Obs is actually starting to piss me off I been threw so many videos and nothing works it always come out low fps recording when my pc has no performance problems when I record I don’t know what can be the problem
Is it a quality issue or lag/stuttering? Also what GPU and CPU?
Qualityu improved but video starts lagging
i donmt see encoder
did all of this and it's still blurry as hell
i use 2500 bitrate :(
LETS JUST APPREACIATE THAT HE SOUNDSLIKE A ROBOT
