I’ve been using this video to cut my hair for 5 years, and have only had a professional cut it once during that time. I get compliments all the time. It’s the best hair cut ever. Good job Farah!

You did a great job explaining! I didn't think you sounded repetitive at all. To me it just sounded like someone thoroughly explaining each step, as it should be! I like thorough explanations, especially with something like cutting hair, something that many of us watching don't have experience with.

I usually never comment much on videos. But i just tried this haircut and turned out amazing. I love it. Lots of volume. However, i watched the video like 50 times and played it while i was cutting my hair. You HAVE to pay attnetion to her instructions and follow excatly. Thanks, love my layers!!!!

Goodness gracious, haters out there for teaching us how to cut our own hair as well as you did! Well done, Farah! The hairdressers don't want to lose their business. You're not annoying, it's okay to reiterate important points. People will complain anyway, either because they think you said it too much or too little... Do what do you do; you're awesome at it. I'm very thankful for you and your videos.

I have been looking all over youtube for the perfect tutorial to cut my own hair. I came across yours after months of searching. I have never ever cut my own hair before, which is why I so patiently waited to find the right video. Long story short, I've been on bed rest since about 3 months into my pregnancy, but I desperately needed a haircut. I have extremely long hair, so I figured I can definitely save a few bux, cut my own hair in the comfort of my own home. SO THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS TUTORIAL!!!!! YOU ROCK!!!! AND YOU ARE SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!! :D

I had a hard time sectioning my hair to combing it up at a 90 degree angle cause my arms are too short hahaha so I had to have someone help me. It turn out so amazing! Thank you so much!

After being extremely dissatisfied with the professional haircuts time after time I will most surely be trying this out in the future when my hair is long enough 😕 I recently got a haircut, well i wanted more of a trim the ladycut about 10inches of my hair 😩 i feel naked with out. Thankfully my hair is healthy to start off with and i know it will grow fast. Thankyou for taking the time on this, hair is soo precious and cutting it yourself when you are not a pro it's scary...thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!!🌸🌺🌻

Honestly you are the best! I don't just mean this video, I mean all of your videos. I love how you use natural methods to take care of your hair and skin, which is really important to me too. It's also nice that you're brown and you totally understand the issues we have to deal with (i.e dark armpits). I'm so glad I found your channel. The added bonus is that you're Canadian and I can find all the products you use! Keep doing your thing girl!

When I finally went I asked for layers and didn't get any! It was barely a trim. I built the courage to follow your tutorial and it looks great! so much easier to manage when baby comes and looks so much better than before. Thank you again xxx

So, I tried this method for my dreadlocs and it actually worked! I needed to cut it, but I didn't want the ends to be blunt so I used this video as a guide and it's PERFECT! Thank you so much for such a thorough explanation of everything! I've always cut my own hair and it's always been ok, not great, but not horrible, but now it looks like I went to the salon! Thank you, SO MUCH! Oh, and I have to say, you have the most beautiful head of hair that I've ever seen.

After a year and a half of not cutting my hair i finally did and it feels so much better. I was kinda worried about the face framing but it turned out alright. Only thing is I didn't get as much volume and layers as you did. Could it be because even after I cut it, I noticed my hair is still longer than yours? I used to have voluminous beautiful hair but i guess after not trimming for a year and a half its been neglected. I also had A LOT of breakage. And I noticed when i was cutting my hair and how thin it has gotten. I definitely need to start giving some TLC to my hair...

I used her method. it's logical and simple. I had a good result. lost hardly 2 inches. lost all split ends. if u want to give it a try be patient and don't hurry. less is more. use good scissors and comb. difficult for very long hair. my layers are only in the last 3 inches of my hair

This is so flawless! oh god I used to have my hair endlessly long, then I had to cut it down a bit due to the major hair loss I was having cause it was apparently too long for my roots to keep it healthy or whatever.. and it was all flat and boring after cutting it down so I have been wanting to give it some volume, movement and life for forever and this tutorial helped me so much!! you're so genius! I love it!

I can't believe I've never seen ur page until just the other day! I've been tryna find a video that explains how to do these layers by myself but every other video is confusing or they don't go into vivid enough detail for me (Ima freak about details, I really need them lol) urs is BY FAR the best/most professional technique I've come across & I actually love how u repeat everything step by step & really u should because like u said, is ur hair u don't wanna screw it up! My mom always said "ur hairs it pride, ya ain't got hair, ya ain't got pride!" LOL anyways, now FINALLY I feel confident enough to do it myself following ur video.. I only wish u knew a way to blunt cut ur ends by urself cause my ends are bad...

Hi, I just wanted to say a big big thank you for posting this video!! :-) For years I have been unhappy with my haircuts from the hairdressers, they always seem to cut it uneven or too short. Your video was easy to follow & My hair has turned out great & the way I like it! Thanks again 😊

You're pulling everything up. This is 180 degree hair cut. 90 degrees is pulling everything out from the curve of the head. Sorry to correct you but I'm a hair stylist.

Thank you so much for this video tutorial! I also had a horrific haircut by a professional a few years back, and aside from just trimming my ends, I've been too afraid to try much else. Well, after watching your video a few times, I tried it myself, and it's amazing! While my hair isn't as long as yours (mine is a little longer than shoulder length) it came out great! Thank you so much, and keep making these awesome diy videos! : )

My hair is as long and thick as yours but I've been having a lot of breakage lately because I haven't cut it in years and I'm SO glad you posted this video because I didn't want to cut off too much of my length because I love having long hair. Thanks! :)

you're awesome farah, thank you so much for this vid.everytime i go to the salon, which is very rarely, like every 3 years type of rare, i tell them i want long layers.they say "well if you want you shortest layer to be at your shoulder i have to cut off a lot of the length".i knew it was freaking possible to not cut off all the length, they have been screwing me for years.now i can do it myself.thank you.and at the end your hair looked so gorgeous, exactly what i've been wanting for like 8 years.

Thank you! This was so thorough and helpful! I recently moved and don't have a new hairdresser yet and I'm always scared to try somewhere new so I thought "hey, why not give it a try myself?! If I fail, at least it was free!" So I found this video and just cut my hair the way you explained and I LOVE IT!!! Thanks again!

You are my hero. Thank you for such a detailed video! I have long, extremely thick hair and need the guides in order to keep everything together. This has been so helpful. Trying this tonight!
