Thanks for showing the helo following the ship. I wish you expanded on these options for the advanced waypoint action. Good that ED finally included escorting ships, no more need for the script. Thanks Gaz. Well done!
Awesome tips and information, thank you for this information. There is one correction, the SH in "SH-60" does not stand for Sea Hawk. It's a US aircraft designation for Anti Submarine Warfare - "S" and helicopter - "H". Remember the Sea King was also an SH- and was designated as the SH-3. The plane guard helicopter is normally placed to the right of the ship, not over it. While they can, helicopters don't routinely hover over a stationary object or moving object because if it has to ditch the pilots won't have to worry about hitting the ship on the way down. Everything else was perfect.
Hey thanks Radiodoug Dougradio for those tips & corrections. Yea the S H was an uneducated guess. I appreciate the feed back & the kind words too & also thanks for checking out my ch. Cheers
From what I remember, the plane guard helo - "Angel" - performs a racetrack orbit as it follows the ship. I believe it's more fuel efficient and it _may_ also be safer (or may not, it's conjecture on my part) if an auto-rotation has to be performed because of power loss. Regarding the depth of water, I know there's a rule or at least rule-of-thumb that carrier captains and navigators follow; I think they maintain a depth that's two times the draft, so a draft of 40 feet would mean 80 feet under the keel. But thanks to my poor memory that figure may be wrong.
I knew if I kept searching, someone would be able to show how to keep the SH-60B in line with the carrier.... and you did it. Thanks for the how-to! A question that remains un-answered is all my carriers have no line markings when I am in mission editor mode, except for Stennis (makes static item placement a hassle). Stennis has all lines and even shows the tie-downs on the surfcae of the carrier, all the other carriers have just a grey surface. Any clue as to how I get the red/white and yellow/red lines to show up? Keep up the great tips and videos!
Thank you big time Jim, much appreciated man & I hear you brother. I'm just now finishing off a mission build & again yep I couldn't see jack on deck, it's a pain in the butt. I think it has been raised in Forum but I'm not entirely sure.
@@GazAce Thanks for the reply. I did some research on US carrier ops and found the SH-60B is typically flown at a position on the port side and astern the carrier during launch and recovery activity, so i used a -300 interval value to move it to the port side. Once again thanks for the insight on how “follow” task works!
Could you explain how to place a flyable aircraft parking cold any where on the deck along with AI aircraft. When I to place a player flyable aircraft it always puts it on the front right ramp in takeoff position and the AI aircraft to the left and the other 2 AI aircraft on top of the player aircraft. I would like the aircraft in a position on the deck so I have to get into position myself and the same for the AI aircraft. Thanks!!!!!!
I will check DCS Super Carrier AI & Player AC positioning & get back to you ok? Also.. while I'm checking this, if you wish go here for WAG's vid on Supercarrier & AC placement. He does a "Cold Start" on deck of Supercarrier for F-18C. ruclips.net/video/9RfuMExxqDU/видео.html I just checked Supercarrier AI & Player AC placement with many different settings & all is working fine, no issues. Don't forget, when you set as "Player" AC set to "Take off from ramp" (Cold Start) you will always be positioned just behind CATS 1 & 2 & will only change when you choose "Take off from runway". Now, even if you set yourself as "Take off from parking hot" you will always still be behind CATS 1 & 2 with all your systems active. Finally, if you select "Take off from runway" & your on your own with no other AI AC on Deck about to depart you will be by default positioned to CAT 1. If you add any other AI AC as "Take off from runway" you will be moved along to CAT 2 & if you add another AI AC as "Take off from runway" you be shuffled along to CAT 3 & so on. Sorry for the long winded reply but I needed to explain it correctly. I hope this all helps. GA 😉👍
I'll try & help you BISWAS. Can you explain a bit more in detail brother? Like what aircraft pic do you mean? In briefing panels or where mate? Is it in my video here that it does show? If so, tell me the time stamp in vid & I'll check it out. Do you mean your Aircraft in mission? Did you select "Player" from Drop down box or "Client" for Multiplayer?
@@biswabasasahoo9033 No need for sorries, all good man. Have you purchased Super Carrier? If Yes.. then in ME ( Mission Editor ) go to left & select the little Ship icon then on right hand side interface under Naval Group select from drop down box "Type" then which vessel you want CVN-71 to CVN-75 click on map & it will appear. Also make sure water depth is deep enough for your SC. If no joy with that or I'm not getting what you mean here.. PM me in ED Forum & we'll check it out in more detail.
Your voice and the music made this so peaceful to watch.
Thanks so much A2Moonclaw, much appreciated brother 🙏

Letting the Govt imprison you over the sniffles will get you much worse things.
