I understand what y'all trying to say, But I think there are albums that are 100% classics for the lanes they're in that aren't unanimously celebrated in terms of popularity. XXX & Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown or Pinata & Bandana by Freddie Gibbs for example I'd absolutely consider classics, Even if they aren't as widely known by the masses. I think there are several instances of this honestly, 1999 by Joey Badass is an underground classic, IMO the greatest mixtape of all time but the majority of people haven't heard of it. Veteran by JPEGMAFIA is an experimental classic, Probably the most unique, Off the wall album I've heard and the majority of people haven't heard of it. Also, I know people love to clown on Logic but projects like Undeniable, WTF or Under Pressure I honestly believe people would be more willing to consider a classic if his career didn't go in the direction it did, People forget just how highly regarded Logic was at one point before he dropped 1800 and slowly became the internets punching bag, Now people are even too afraid to give Logic any praise whatsoever cause they know they'll likely get made fun of, But his YS/UP days were legit.
Man, I really wish WTT was a morden classic, I think it would be at the top with TPAB, GKMC and MBDTF Also I wanted to take a hot take about Logic's The Incredible True Story (also sorry I couldn't type the acronym for the title for it because it would be extremely inappropriate especially with the RUclips guidelines, so I gotta keep it kid friendly for RUclips), but um now going back with what I'm commenting about, I believe it is a underrated and overlooked of a modren classic 🤔, and hear me out because it's his most focus and cohesive album I've ever heard and albums I've heard, the songs blend together as a blender very well in it's entirely, plus there are no skips for me on it (not a single one, I could easy play it to front to back), it is important when it first came out (I also wanted to note the first scene in the intro about how important it was going to be for Logic's career), it's also important because it is the first LP he went commercial, then he took off to be little more recognizable (after the release of The Incredible True Story), yes, before Everybody was the one, yes, there wasn't really no radio singles on it, but Like Woah played was everywhere on the NBA commercial, I believe it to be the 2016 one (don't quote me on that), but anyways, he even have the legendary voice actor who played Spike off of Cowboy Bebop on this LP playing a brand new character for crying out loud, imo it's still a classic you could disagree all u want, but don't poke fun of me, pls in the comment selection, keep it nice, you can't forget it's just my opinion 😁
I don’t understand how it’s not. It takes the zaniness of previous Eminem albums that leaned hard into the whole Slim Shady persona and cranked it up to 100 then ripped off the knob. In terms of the wackiness + depravity of Slim Shady, it’s the quintessential Eminem album.
He said himself on recovery. “Let’s be honest that last relapse CD was eh, perhaps I ran them accents into the ground”. There’s some solid songs in there but a lot of it was corny, saying this as a Stan. Its definitely an Eminem classic, but not a hip-hop classic.
This decade has given us 3 classics thus far: SIMBI by Little Simz, TFS by J.I.D and Alfredo by The Alchemist & Freddie Gibbs There are a few in contention like Pray for Paris, HWH8, Limbo, MMESYF, KD I II III and Magic 1, Cheat Codes, MM&TBS, Heroes and Villains and CMIYGL
Ik it doesn't fit the vibe of the album, but I honestly couldn't see Melt My Eyes without Troubles. I loved seeing T-Pain after he was gone for so long, the songs a vibe and I don't skip a single track off of Melt My Eyes. I would consider it a classic, definitely.
In my opinion J Cole only has one classic. Friday Night Lights in handicapped by not being on streaming, it’s gone unheard by even a good amount of Cole fans. I also don’t consider 4yeo a classic album. I think it’s good but its not up there with a pablo and 4:44. I think it’s better for its concept than it’s actual music. If 4yeo is a classic then so is Mr Morale. Also Future has multiple classics. Ds2 and Monster are trap albums. HNDRXX and Future are part of his legendary 2017 run and definitely classics to most future fans.
Troubles by Denzel is such a bop. Insane T-Pain performance and perfect Kenny Beats production. And zel delivers as much as he always does. Bad, bad take.
Magnum opus does NOT mean flawless Lu, it just means a piece of art regarded as the most important work of art for an artist. For many, many people they see C III as that for Wayne.
Hi nfr im the 2001 take guy and I would like to explain why I wrote that comment. I recently decided to listen to 2001 all the way throughout a few weeks ago (im only 15 and new to hiphop so i've never listened to it) and my expectactions were high as hell, not only cause people talk so well about it but also because I absolutely LOVE some of its biggest hits like still dre and forgot about dre(those are like my favourite songs ever lmao) and I dont know why but that was prolly THE most disappointing listen ive had since I started listening to hiphop, and thats because my expectations were so high I was expecting every track to be a forgot about dre or a xxplosive, but I ended up not getting CLOSE to like it as much as I wanted to.I just got frustrated by how i wouldnt find a song id love as much as a still dre, so every other song i came across on the album felt like a skip to me(hope that makes sense lol).Ima have to listen to it again whit a open mind to be able to understand the hipe.
this makes sense but just know this kinda stuff always changes with time. i used to only like the hits off of MM FOOD by MF DOOM but now when i revisit it i appreciate the deep cuts wayyyyyy more. 2001 is an album like that. you’ll come to appreciate the deeper cuts with time
People do overuse the classic status but cmon be serious. Take care and nothing was the same are easily classics, so is born sinner and fhd. Fhd literally went platinum with no features and I’m not a big future listener but most consider ds2 and monster classics. Don’t be a kdot Stan bruh lol.
I think the Off-Season will go down as a classic, in my opinion, not a single skip maybe apart from Amari, on the album and we have J Cole rapping his ass off, before anyone criticizes, go and listen to the album all the way through again.
notice how Ant read "Ed-Ucation" and "The Car Bomb" but not "Pause For P*rno" because he could not physically bring himself to say its not a skip 🤣 I know its just an interlude but imo its by far the worst and most tasteless interlude to ever be recorded let alone released... To be fair tho I also think "Ed-Ucation" is lowkey one of the top 3 best interludes ever so I guess it balances out the album🤷♂
@chemicaldeath9866 Did “f me” by Biggie never happen because if you want to look at distasteful interlude that is the song to look at (only skip on Ready To Die as well)

Thank you. This should be printed out and framed in the NFR studio
WE NEED YUNO MILES X NFR NOWWWW
the chocolate analogy was good
14:14 ant yawning 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yuno Miles gettin his flowers finally🙏
Man, I really wish WTT was a morden classic, I think it would be at the top with TPAB, GKMC and MBDTF
Also I wanted to take a hot take about Logic's The Incredible True Story (also sorry I couldn't type the acronym for the title for it because it would be extremely inappropriate especially with the RUclips guidelines, so I gotta keep it kid friendly for RUclips), but um now going back with what I'm commenting about, I believe it is a underrated and overlooked of a modren classic 🤔, and hear me out because it's his most focus and cohesive album I've ever heard and albums I've heard, the songs blend together as a blender very well in it's entirely, plus there are no skips for me on it (not a single one, I could easy play it to front to back), it is important when it first came out (I also wanted to note the first scene in the intro about how important it was going to be for Logic's career), it's also important because it is the first LP he went commercial, then he took off to be little more recognizable (after the release of The Incredible True Story), yes, before Everybody was the one, yes, there wasn't really no radio singles on it, but Like Woah played was everywhere on the NBA commercial, I believe it to be the 2016 one (don't quote me on that), but anyways, he even have the legendary voice actor who played Spike off of Cowboy Bebop on this LP playing a brand new character for crying out loud, imo it's still a classic you could disagree all u want, but don't poke fun of me, pls in the comment selection, keep it nice, you can't forget it's just my opinion 😁
Always feels like I’m chillin with my nerdy friends who are actually the coolest. Also, I suspect tism.
I liked the chocolate analogy 😂
Great to see lou thinks Baby on baby is a certified classic. Keep up the takes!
Future has 3 classics: DS2, Monster, & 56 nights
Relapse deserves to be a classic
I don’t understand how it’s not. It takes the zaniness of previous Eminem albums that leaned hard into the whole Slim Shady persona and cranked it up to 100 then ripped off the knob. In terms of the wackiness + depravity of Slim Shady, it’s the quintessential Eminem album.
He said himself on recovery. “Let’s be honest that last relapse CD was eh, perhaps I ran them accents into the ground”. There’s some solid songs in there but a lot of it was corny, saying this as a Stan. Its definitely an Eminem classic, but not a hip-hop classic.
While I agree that the first Future take is dumb, it kinda makes me sad that no one considers my favourite project of his (Evol) a classic
This decade has given us 3 classics thus far: SIMBI by Little Simz, TFS by J.I.D and Alfredo by The Alchemist & Freddie Gibbs
There are a few in contention like Pray for Paris, HWH8, Limbo, MMESYF, KD I II III and Magic 1, Cheat Codes, MM&TBS, Heroes and Villains and CMIYGL
You got the forever story in here but not the off season?
KDII and KDIII should be up there, with Blue Lips and The Off-Season being in heavy contention
Really feel like people overrate SIMBI a lot compared to other UK rap albums
@@colej6108 Lmao. The Off Season ain't even as half as good as TFS. It's a good mixtape, like top 3 Cole project but c'mon now...
@@fantasythinkerfan Psychodrama and Conflict of Interests are the only albums of the last 5 years that come close in the UK rap scene
We dont trust you is an easy future classic and imo monster, ds2, 56 nights, future and high off life are all classics
Swap out WIZRD for High Off Life and I would agree with you
sftsaftm will 110% be a classic, and faith
So cool of you guys to start out with a Shawn Cee take
NFR never fails to ruin my day 🙌
A classic has to be a 10 and influential imo, something can be revolutionary and not be a classic
You guys should react to hot takes about Chicago Rappers
Melt my eyez is a 10/10
Troubles by Denzel is such a bop. Insane T-Pain performance and perfect Kenny Beats production. And zel delivers as much as he always does. Bad, bad take.
nah fr and they said it doesn't fit the tracklist... both thematically and sonically it fits in perfectly
Future being ahead of j cole is such a standard take 😭 disagreeing with that is crazy
Magnum opus does NOT mean flawless Lu, it just means a piece of art regarded as the most important work of art for an artist. For many, many people they see C III as that for Wayne.
Forest hills drive is a classic it was the first album to go platinum no features and it elevated to a top 10 status
2001 is an album like that. you’ll come to appreciate the deeper cuts with time
I might agree that future will pass Drake in classics in the future but j Cole and Kenny prolly not
😂😂😂😂 keep hoping clown
Troubles on MMESYF is 🔥🔥🔥
Tie My Hands is dope. Wth Are u Guys on?
i liked the analogy
Cole, drake and future have 0 classics. Kendrick has 2/3 . Y'all overuse the 'classic' status
0????? alright bud
People do overuse the classic status but cmon be serious. Take care and nothing was the same are easily classics, so is born sinner and fhd. Fhd literally went platinum with no features and I’m not a big future listener but most consider ds2 and monster classics. Don’t be a kdot Stan bruh lol.
Random opinion: Yo guys should make a public playlist
I think the Off-Season will go down as a classic, in my opinion, not a single skip maybe apart from Amari, on the album and we have J Cole rapping his ass off, before anyone criticizes, go and listen to the album all the way through again.
AT.LONG.LAST.ASAP is a classic to me
Ant is underrating how good Monster is
notice how Ant read "Ed-Ucation" and "The Car Bomb" but not "Pause For P*rno" because he could not physically bring himself to say its not a skip 🤣
I know its just an interlude but imo its by far the worst and most tasteless interlude to ever be recorded let alone released... To be fair tho I also think "Ed-Ucation" is lowkey one of the top 3 best interludes ever so I guess it balances out the album🤷♂
@chemicaldeath9866 Did “f me” by Biggie never happen because if you want to look at distasteful interlude that is the song to look at (only skip on Ready To Die as well)
Forever story is a classic
The last classic album is definitely the forever story. Give it some time.
CLB will be a classic, way 2 sexy is not even close the best song on that album
Only album from Cole that can arguably be considered a classic is 2014 Forest Hills Dr. (I personally wouldn’t consider it one. But most will.)
