The big 3 conversation is so stupid lol. Said “jcole doesn’t belong in the big 3 because he isn’t as influential” in what world does being the best rapper require you to be the most popular/influential one? Old Tyler hate is unfounded. Even in his early years he had a huge impact on the game, on Supreme as a brand, founded his own rap group and didn't have a single album that was below average. He produced for famous artists, produced all of his own music and had a completely unique style that no one else had. Has obviously collabed with very notable legends even in the early days. The only reason that critics like to hate his early work is because of his subject matter. That's why he was never able to get as popular as he should have. So the only thing he lacked was popularity.

I think that future’s influence, consistency and cultural significance out weighs what cole has done. Future helped boost Atlanta into arguably the top 3 cities in the world for rap. He created his own sound and when everyone copied it, he kept evolving his sound which helped him become one of the most developed artists in the genre. And in terms of the sheer amount of good songs in a catalogue, you’d be hard pressed to find a rapper that would beat future.

Lu's arguments for Tyler not being on mt rushmore of 2010s is the exact same reason i dont think j cole deserves to be there either. I feel like music and hip hop would sound the same if not for Cole, whereas some other people has had a HUGE musical impact on the 2010s.
Also I feel like Tyler kinda laid out the blueprint for what was to come with soundcloud rap in that it was self-released, online fanbase, unpolished, at times heavily distorted and in general kind of punk vibe, which is never a point people talk about
