Super how he plonked the movement down on the broken glass. That’s expertise for you !!!
Ghetto restoration. These home brew jewellers are pathetic.
He obviously does great work otherwise he wouldn’t have rolexes to repair, only timex and casios, Rolex watches are trusted to only a very few watchmakers, food for thought 🙄
martin luther king was a filthy commie puppet
Says who?
Quite shameful really Hector. With high end watches it’s critical to give them to an expert . It’s worth paying the extra money for peace of mind.. Skill comes at a price.
A very good indicator is to see if the back screws are gnarled. If so, the screwdriver that has been used is the wrong size. It’s important that it fits the slot well before turning.
On a Rolex screw on back again the serrated tool that opens it should be a quality piece of engineering that fits perfectly otherwise gnarling can occur..
I love Clark’s crystals and gasket. I got one with a AR coating for my sub and a little higher gasket. Looks amazing.
So much information condensed in a short video, thanks Peter
its common sense hector
Very interesting thank you, when you get a chance, I'd love to see a water pressure test, and in another video you mentioned about making a part on your lathe, God that would be mind blowing to watch too. Thanks again Pete, always a thumbs up!
I just got a gift from my partner a submariner I honestly have no clue about Rolex except for their price, thankyou for this video very well made and so in-depth without being boring, thank you, will be watching more so maybe I can do a service on mine when the time comes ❤️
I find rodico leaves residue on glossy dials.
I am trying to replace my crystal in my Rolex 16613 Sub... I was REALLY hoping to see how you removed the crystal bezel! I bought a bezel remover tool but it seems like I have tightened it all the way and it isn't budging!
Good video, thank you
HELLO' PETER : THANKS FOR YOUR TUTORIAL VIDEO'S LEARNING A LOT
MY 50 YRS OLD ROLEX ACRYLIC CRYSTAL CASE 1675. I BOUGHT A COUPLE CRYSTAL ACRYLICS BUT DURING ASSEMBLY BRITTLE OR DAMEGE', HOW TO PREVENT DAMAGE AGAIN; DOES NEED TO REMOVE THE BEZEL INSERT??? TO PREVENT FUTURE DAMEGE. ALSO VERY DIFFICULT TO ALING ON THE CASE WITHOUT ANY, SLIT THAT HOLD IN PLACE OR' NEED A SPECIAL DIES' FOR THE ABOVE CRYSTAL OR MODEL ( RLX'GMT PEPSI BEZEL CAL 1570&) CASE 1675.
Can you do this without removing the movement?
Why put the movement on top of the broken glass.
You did see all the glass on the watch! Didn’t you?
@@watchesandjewelry justifying sloppy work, I see..
Can you take the crystal out without taking the movement out? I dropped my 16613 an now the 12 o’clock indices is floating around.
Yess
is there anyone in London that can replace the glass in my submariner?
I can not believe you turned the exposed movement on top of the shattered dusty glass , where did you learned your craft ?
i literally flinched
Does it affect the resale value? After restoring
Aftermarket crystal can sometimes effect price. Orem crystals are not difficult or expensive. Older watches or those with plastic crystals, normally have no effect on price. It is important that the watch be pressure tested. Water damaged will effect the value of any watch.
That chart doesn’t come up for me
How to change new submariner crystal
Make a video for new Rolex 41 mm Wimbledon watch crystal replacement
you dnt have a rolex
Just as a matter of Interest did that watch have a Rolex crown lasered on the inside at 6 position it's very difficult to see
No it’s a older reference
Now it looks like stars, I would probably leave it. Gives some character.
TY,,,,,,WOW 1st class incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work
How much does something like this cost to do
Between 75.00 and 125.00 usd.
@@watchesandjewelry I’m getting quotes of 750$ and up ! I just shattered my 36 date just. The watch is also not working
Did the crystal shatter and did glass get inside? If so then the watch will need a service. New crystal and full service on average for an out of warranty repair is about 450.00 to 500.00 in that case.
Keep in mind that two factors apply. How much glass got into the movement and if the watch is new and in warranty.
@@watchesandjewelry yes there’s glass inside
NEVER EVER PRESS GLASS INTO A DIAL! I use an automotive vacuum with a long Brush or masking tape that only touches the dial in one place, constantly spinning the tape to a fresh spot. You have glass embedded in your Rodico and every time you press it into the dial face it is pushing that embedded glass into it making new scratches. Glass is much harder than anything in the head itself. As soon as you apply pressure you will get indentations into the face. If this were my watch I would be very upset.
"Nothing I can do about that" MAYBE BLOW IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!? Cover up the hole with masking tape? clean the hole with a damp swab or iso swab? no. Instead blow glass in there and charge a full service. Come on.
😂
Really $hitty workmanship
DO NOT DO THIS, YOU SHOULD BE A PROFESSIONAL BEFORE YOU POST INSTRUCTIONS!!!
All I see is purple gloves.
