Great video! We don't have a well-developed high-speed train network in the US due to many political and territorial constraints. When I took the TGV and ICE, I was so impressed by the fact that those trains are so much faster than cars, and even sometimes planes.
The US spent its money on expressways.
"I was having coffee without a care in the world while traveling at F1 speeds". Haha It's been a while since I didn't travel on the TGV and your video made me want to go to Paris or whatever just for sake the TGV experience.
My first experience with TGF was Zurich to Paris in 1985. I was fascinated by it. At one moment I was stunned by an opposite traveling train that was close enough to make my ears pop. I always thought the name TGF was for tout grande vitesse.… I enjoyed the video!
Thanks a lot!
Thank you. Your video is clear, concise and to the point. I am now a subscriber!
Thanks a lot!
In France almost any long route have to go through paris, and in some case we have to take the subway in paris... And good luck booking a ride from Luxembourg to Toulouse for instance
l'appellation (the brand) INOUI inscrite sur le TGV est un jeu de mots qu'on peut traduire en anglais par incredible ou umbelievable
It's really amusing but I guessed right away from your accent that you are from Luxembourg. I was going to write in Luxembourgish but I can't remember the spelling. I've been living in Paris for forty years now and äusser wann ëch matt menger Mamm schwätzen, héieren ëch jo baal kee Lêtzeburgech méi. Not even sure the spelling hasn't changed since my time in school.
Nice video.
I pref the old design by far
Really liked your video. Keep making more videos ❤
Thanks!
A wonderful video 👍🏻
Thanks!
1:00, Really? No way, wow. Miami is also included, but only for some public transportation like train and bus I believe. Question, is it safe to visit Luxembourg, drink tap water, is it free to use public restroom or have to pay and restaurants accept credit card?
Yes to everything.
Got it. Thanks.
No stepless access for wheelchair users?
not on this model but TGV M will be full accessible without any assistance
I wonder if it wouldn't have been faster to go to Paris then south, since Paris south stop way less and is faster. About 3 hours to go to the south 3h15 to Montpellier , and Strasbourg Paris is fast too. 2h20 (maybe it do not go max speed very long.
Paris Montpellier 750 km 3h15. It pushes to 340 km/h on this line, and have only 2 stops before Montpellier. And I think it could be faster if you take the station on the speed track, (Montpellier sud de France), but not crazy faster 5mn.
Strasbourg Montpellier 621 km, 7 heures on your train, it's huge. TGV is not very useful on the one you took. I have seen some taking 5h47, but it's still long for 130 km less.
Plus in 2025 to start, the line Paris Lyon to south will have the brand new TGV M. 😉 They look way better inside and outside. The nose is longer. And because of all the new stuffs they are 20 % more efficient. It seems that it will be white, very light grey, and few parts in red... Not really a fan of white (the dominant color) for terrestrial transportations, it looks so ordinary, but it is what it is.
Paris - Strasbourg by TGV is 1h45.
@@lours6993 encore mieux 👍 je trouvais ça long aussi 2h20
Ich like the speed but I don’t like French train design. It looks old fashioned and pretty crude.
It’s easy to built a network if you have one centre in the country. In Germany we don’t have, so the approach is to serve all cities equally. That makes more difficult and expensive.
As he explains this train was an older model, that's why it look a little vintage. Many have been updated but the new TGM M is being rolled out starting this year so these train are not being upgraded but replaced altogether.
It looks retro but it's super-comfy. That's like saying you don't like riding a Rolls Royce Phantom because it's old. It's still amazing.
