I hiked Mt Lemmon a few times this spring via Romero Canyon. Up and down 26 mile RT in 14 hours. I don't think I'd want to do out and back via Sabino.

it was a pretty boring hike -- if I didn't have the snow to slow me down for 4 miles and the shortest time of the year (mid Dec), I would've hiked/jogged down too

How’s Romero compare with Sabino? What about up one and own the other as in AllTrails?

I’m planning to do the loop track that’s in AllTrails tomorrow. How does the AllTrails track compare to what you did? AllTrails seems to indicate Sabino is overgrown

@@MrMarkrosen I'm not sure what alltrails track you are referring to so not sure if it matches what I did. But my way should be obvious from video and is the most direct way up from the main sabino canyon parking, about 17 or so miles to the top

@@HikingEngineer I found you via your comment on AllTrails’ “Mt Lemon loop.” It was up Romero and down Sabino Canyon. Romero looks more direct and has been maintained

@@MrMarkrosen there was no route for what I did on alltrails, so i commented on some mount lemmon routes. I started at the normal Sabino canyon parking, went up the road 3 miles, then went up the trail, eventually banged a left and got up to the ridge, then roughly followed the ridge to lemmon. If you look at the map this will make sense with trail lines and is the most direct way up from Sabino canyon, it's about 17 miles up. I am not sure about current conditions but it was fine when I did it (December 2021 I think? Maybe Dec 2022)
