    Literally the BEST video I've seen so far about brainstem nuclei. Can't understand why my med school doesn't teach it this way! I thought the issue was with me not being smart enough to understand this but realized now it was just the way it was presented to me. I can't thank you enough for this clear and logical way to learn the nuclei vs blindly memorizing everything with no rhyme or reason. Thank you for teaching me HOW to think!

    • @marcielariccia9520
      @marcielariccia9520 4 года назад

      Hopefully you’ve figured out that yes you can learn this prior but they’re still going to take the time to teach you for board exams in med school

    • @vhscopyofseinfeld

      @@Andrew-kh7rz mark my words, if you get into medical school you’re going to cringe at the realization of how remarkably dimwitted your comment is. At your place now you can’t possibly fathom the volume of knowledge you are tested on in med school. You think you can & that you do, but you don’t.

    Why do you neglect the spinal nuclei? Which cranial nerve nuclei extend into the spinal cord and how far down do they go? V, X, XI, XII? Is that a comprehensive list?

    At 3:16 you mention IO muscle action as contributing to depression or looking down. Is this correct? I learned this as extorsion and UPWARD deflection of the orbit. Is the IO muscle downward as you stated a conjoined action with the IR?

    • @TheNotedAnatomist
      @TheNotedAnatomist  6 лет назад +3

      You are correct ... i spoke too quickly there. The inferior rectus muscle (IR) moves the eyeball down ... and inferior oblique (IO) moves the eye up. Thank-you.
