Although I am a huge Ramin and Sierra fan, THIS production knocks it out of the park. This many years on (2023) I've only seen it on the DVD (I live in the States) but the costumes were sumptuous, the sets were magnificent...and Anna and Ben ruled the stage with their chemistry and presence. Brava and bravo! And agree with Lord Andrew...the West End (London) production could learn a LOT from this one (and if later WE iterations are any indicator...I think they do).
Ben Lewis you were just sensational .. so moved by your performance in playing this wonderful role of phantom. I came to Sydney from Perth WA...i believe that is where you studied am i right?.... 2 weeks ago & so glad that i was able to get a Ticket on the friday. and the theatre the CAPITAL wow incredible the best theatre i have ever been in Sandy of WA
I saw this show three times in Sydney, including the final matinee performance there. I went to the Stage Door after each performance where several of the stars appeared and mingled with us for a while. Such a stunning and unforgettable show and Ben was a fantastic and perfect Phantom and his dark and beautiful baritone voice was perfect for the older Erik! I bought the DVD (recorded at one of the Melbourne shows) when it was released and it gets a lot of play in my house, even all these years later ❤❤❤
I really can't wait until this comes to Broadway. I saw the London production in Feb, after the changes had been made, and loved every minute of it, and this one looks like it just blows that one away. I can't wait.
Ottimo servizio, Sherry. A good report. Congratulazioni, tu sai fare ogni cosa. Sei stata bravissima all'altezza della situazione. A kissi to u from Rome
sometimes you don't need to be moving around the stage to express the emotion of the song, sometimes it's all is the words and how the actor delivers them.
This version of LND looks absolutely stunning. I've seen the London Production which is absolutely amazing, but sadly i hear today that it is to close in August. If this is the case then please please please bring this version to the west end. Would love to see this version but sadly will never get to Melbourne to see it
I love the scenography. Thinking of putting up two massive curtains, like the curtains in the theatre, on either side of the fire place and put up a photo of the phantom ;)
@XFloreatEtonaX In TIHYS, he's standing on a small raised platform that eventually lifts off the ground- he doesn't have much room to bound around there :P
Ooooooo...WOW! I got to see on RUclips the show must go on. It's stupendous. Love it from start to finish. Is there a DVD I can purchase? I want the Melbourne version.
@grnday11700 As excited I am for this show to come to America, the unfortunate news is that Webber said that the production would probably not be able to come to Broadway alone. I regret to inform you but he is only planning to film the Australian production and sell it on DVD.
Visually this show is better from what I've seen but musically I prefer the London version. They both are very lovely and beautiful and are good in different ways.
"...and I made choices too." Um, is that how she's glossing over her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, whom she betrayed with a random, wanton night with the Phantom?
lets see how long it takes for lloyd webber to change his mind again, he said the same thing about the london production!!! said how wonderful the london director was etc!!!! just compose the tunes and stay out of the rest of it!!!
There are some things I liked better in the London version: Ramiiiiiiinn!! The cheesy big statue in the arie! Fleck - I just liked her so much in the original version and the new Fleck is a different character to me.
Is it just me or does the Phantom have a really strong Australian accent while singing? And sorry I don't really like Phantom's new trench coat lol, when did he change his wardrobe since leaving London and moving to Australia? XD
Yet he was born and partially raised in London to to extremely prestigious classically trained opera singers and trained himself at the Royal College of Music. Some lazy assumptions made there by you I think. 😂
Ramin.Kinda.But i still love Ramin.Here is my list of phantoms i love. 1.Ben Lewis!!!💕😍 2.Ramin Kaminloo😍💓 3.Gerald Butler.😳😘 4.Michael Crawford😭👍 5.J.O.J😁😯 6.Hugh Panaro💐😃 And more until 7-18
Sorry but i disagree with their gushing about the director. Amazing show sets and singers BUT the director wasn't so good. he hasn't used their acting at all, only focussing on their good voices... there isn't any direction for expressions. in 'TIHYS' the phantom just sits, stands, waves his arms and sits again. Thats not what i wanna see. he's good, so why was it a bit lacking in emotion? he's meant to be heartbroken lonely and angry. harness that and use it! Still love it, getting dvd!

Oh Ben Lewis is fabulous!
It looks like a spectacular production! Can't wait to see it!!!
This version looks AMAZING. Love The Phantom's Coat!
Ramin has a voice of an angel, but Ben has a voice of a dark Angel.
Could not have said it better myself :)
could have said it any better
so. true.

Mister Webber, thank you for this continuation of beautiful, fairy love story!
Many fans have not liked the sequel, but I love it. Ben and Anna are amazing.
I absolutley love both Ramin and Ben!!!! Both are absolutely amazing!
Christine's portrait moves at 4:15-4:21.

As this is the official dvd for LND, i am determined to watch it with an open mind, and to like it :)
My dream man, would be a man who can sing like the Phantom.
Ottimo servizio, Sherry. A good report. Congratulazioni, tu sai fare ogni cosa. Sei stata bravissima all'altezza della situazione.
A kissi to u from Rome
At 8:30 I wish that part had been in the DVD.

This really was a great show. See it on RUclips movies.
Ooooooo...WOW! I got to see on RUclips the show must go on. It's stupendous. Love it from start to finish. Is there a DVD I can purchase? I want the Melbourne version.
hahaha, London can't say anything about it because the creator himself said he liked the australian version better

@QingwenNaWei Agreed. 100%. Ramin makes the show worth going...fullstop. I really like the London Squelch as well, Adam Pearce =D
This Looks Like an Amazing version but i am a die hard Ramin and Sierra Fan :)
@lachlanjones24
Possibly, though it could have just been a publicity comment.
@LilSigningAngel true
@ 5:49 The PANTHOM? Check Spelling next time :p
@GeorginaPerformer I think you have a good voice.
ok☺
this phantom reminds me of yoda when he speaks
"...and I made choices too."
Um, is that how she's glossing over her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, whom she betrayed with a random, wanton night with the Phantom?

emma dobson
Ramin was not here.
Like TheMsiaddict said above, Ramin has the voice of an angel but Ben Lewis has the voice of a dark angel :D
I LOVE Ben’s portrayal!
He was a phenomenal phantom! ✨🎭✨
