As a Kid, I watched Highway Patrol and as an adult 67 years old I still watch Highway Patrol that is how good and fun that program was, they don't make them like those 2 shows anymore.
Broderick Crawford (who was an Oscar and Golden Globe winning cinema actor) played lead investigator "Dan Matthews" on the 1950's TV show "Highway Patrol". Ironically, he was a hard-drinkin' actor and they often had to film on private property because he was "over the limit"...and he had a couple of D.U.I. convictions as well !! He was amazing, even liquored-up, he could rattle off his dialogue faster than anyone could even hear it. A fast-talkin' tough guy character. He also received 10% of each episode's profits, but it was a cheap Z.I.V. production costing only $25,000 per episode to film. Black and white, filmed around L.A., on Universal's back lot and the Malibu film ranch. He and the other actors used to drive the hell out of those 1950's Buicks, Plymouths, and Fords. Often on dirt roads, those cars would bounce all over the place as the drivers jammed the gears from forward to reverse and slam on the brakes. Campy half-hour episodes where all the bad guys and gals wore suits, hats and formal clothes. 'Fun to see the old cars and the rather simple and modest film locations around L.A. in the 1950's.
@@nancyamato686 I think that's the episode with Dead End Kid Billy Halop playing one of the bad guys. Another episode featured Dead Ender Bobby Jordan.
