Been a while since I originally played this game and I just remember it being hard as heck... and I wasn't wrong. A lot of these fights aren't too difficult but then there's some that can take over an hour. There's fortunately more to this game though. I forgot all the cool cinematics which are pretty lengthy and very satisfying to view after making it through the fights. Each character got his own specials although they're a bit hard to pull off (or maybe I just suck). ONE THING that I REALLY disliked about this game was how easy it is to accidentally restart the whole game. If you lose, the game asks Continue? Yes/No. Sometimes for some stupid reason I'd have the left or right button still held down from trying to do a combo before dying and then I accidentally selected "no". You will have to start ALL over again. The quit option in the pause menu also doesn't have an "are you sure" option, so sometimes I'd try to check my Move List and accidentally quit the game. Seriously you wouldn't think it's frustrating when the game is so short but when you're spending several hours beating a single enemy, it really sucks. Besides that rant, it's a sweet game. I just wish the difficulty was a little lower or they had an actual difficulty setting for the story mode.
I love this game, and the mutant academy series. I always thought this was the third in the series imo. Storm is my favorite character in this game and all media. Phoenix/Dark phoenix is my second favorite to play as. The ending scene where Bastion kills Cyclops and she yells "BASTIIOOONNNN!!" Always loved that scene. Good gameplay.
I had this game on the PS2. The only major thing who bothered me was the long loading sequences😖😖😖. I spent a lot of time in the training mode, and i tried the story mode but i gave up quickly. PS : was the Neo Geo Pocket Color ever a success ?
LongplayArchive yes. It was long as hell. But i was patient. It was not much because of the difficulty of the story mode that i gave up, it was because i was too lazy to go on. That’s why i spent more time in the training mode.
Who ever did this play through, put the difficulty on easy, and they put little effort into the game play....spamming alot of the same 2,3 hit combos which is making this a huge snooze festival. This was a great game, the person playing should be able to pull off stylish lengthy combos with some variety in the attacks... well, good thing it's an older game and I don't have to make a big deal of it.
@@fadedjunky4965I believe it. I remember playing this 21 years ago when school was almost over, I had it on the hardest difficulty and I stopped when fighting Sentinel A as Forge at the x-mansion. Then stopped again lowering the difficulty fighting sentinel A as Magneto at the savage lands. Then lowered it one more time and then finally won and was able to complete story mode.
I bought this game, thinking it improved on the problems in the 1st game. It did not. Super disappointed. Janky hit blocks, super long loading on the Gamecube, bad character models, and no way to play others online, especially compared to Marvel vs Capcom 2. It just wasn't fun to play.

Really? I didn’t notice long loading screens. Maybe that’s only PS2. Story mode is very difficult though so I understand you gave up

For a fighting game, this wasn't bad, tho this storyline definitely would work better with more than just one on one fights.
small characters
