    Nice!
The only thing I would add is some drainage holes .... it is going outside after all ;o)

Thanks! Ah, I forgot to mention that. The drainage is actually built in, there is about 1/16" gap between the bottom boards, plus the rounded tops on the bottom boards allow for small gaps in the sides. Just enough for water to flow out

That’s one of the simplest yet best looking cedar planter boxes I’ve seen done on RUclips. I am going to build a few of these this spring for sure. I’m wondering if it couldn’t use a bit more drainage at the bottom though. Either a few holes drilled or a little space between each bottom plank, covered with permeable landscape fabric.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I've thought about drilling some small holes, it honestly wouldn't hurt. I've made a few of these now and once the wood dries out a bit and shrinks ever so slightly, they have small seams between the bottom boards most of the time anyways. Good luck on yours, I'd love to see them when they're done!

hey Jesse! Thanks for sharing your nice work. Really inspired.
Question - how much more durable would you say cedar is compared to the generic pressure treated lumber made from pine? My parents are asking me to make some outdoor projects and I'm wondering if I just get cedar and have it last longer.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Cedar is far more durable that regular pine, and about as durable as pressure treated, but naturally instead of with chemicals. Especially for finishing Cedar is much more beautiful of you clear it like I did, or oil it or stain it. Pressure treated will last a long time but will gradually look worse over time, but you can use a outdoor deck stain on it. The other thing with pressure treated is if you plan on planting any vegetables or fruits in the planter, they can actually leech the chemicals from the wood into the food and that's not good. It's OK for flowers, but for food I'd only ever use Cedar. Hope that helps!

Yes I’m looking to make an outdoor garbage/recycling enclosure for the bins too, if only to get them out of my garage. Something raccoon and skunk proof. I look forward to that video if it’s made.
