The people who hate on Korra, saying she isn't as good as Aang...She broke out of UNBENDABLE Chains, while poisoned, and without a connection to her past lives, and still managed to put up a fight
I'm mean, Benders have broken out of iron and steel chains before, and those are both stronger than platinum.
@@lucariomew365lmfao the confidence with how you said this is actually crazy, Bruh stay in school you really do need it. 🤡

"Imfao the confidence with how you said this is actually crazy, Bruh stay in school you really do need it"
Wow, that response was unnecessarily aggressive. To clarify, iron and steel chains are generally stronger in terms of mechanical strength, such as tensile and compressive strength. Steel, in particular, is known for its high strength and durability, which is why it’s commonly used in construction and industrial applications.
Platinum, while dense and resistant to corrosion and high temperatures, is softer and more malleable compared to iron and steel.
Therefore, breaking out of steel chains, as we've seen some benders do, would indeed be more challenging than breaking out of platinum restraints-especially for an Avatar going on a rampage in the Avatar state.
Just wanted to share some knowledge,
P.S. I actually did learn about the mechanical strength and applications of certain metals and alloys back in elementary & middle school☺️.
@@lucariomew365 the thing is, in Avatar universe, platinum is too pure of a metal to be bendable. earth benders bend metal by bending dlthe microparticles of sand inside the metal, if there's no particles no metal bending
@@Raysa1208 oh I wasn't talking about bending-also, how refined platinum works in the Avatar universe is based on the platinum refining process IRL. I'm talking about using brute strength and force to break out of chains. Bend out of her Platinum restraints, she broke it through just sheer force. Which is impressive, but I'm saying that it's something even regular have been shown doing to regular steel (again, by smashing, not bending the material.)
Finally someone who understands how valuable Jinora is to the story.
Yeah jinora is katara of TLOK ..... Both of them always comes in clutch saving the avatar's life
“THE POISON FOR KUSCO” 😂
The poison chosen specially to kill Kusco, Kusco’s Poison.
@@edinalewis4704 😂😂
Neither firebenders nor lavabenders have a resistance to heat in any fashion. They simply just control it around them.
Zuko has a scar burn, my man
We see Iroh heat his shackles and burn an earthbenders hand with it while he’s wearing them. I think skilled fire benders can be undamaged by heat but it’s not a passive resistance, he probably had to concentrate on channeling the energy through his chi in some way
actually firebenders are slightly fire resistant. They can get burned of course, but it takes just that bit longer/takes that little bit more heat. I think this was explained/confirmed in one of the Kyoshi novels.
I love how much Jinora looks like Aang at the end there.
The complexity of Korra's character is simply outstanding!
I am so enjoying your reactions and how much this series clearly is impacting you. Thank you!
i cry every single time during jinora's ceremony. no matter how many times i see it.
The last sequence there with the Airbenders and Jinora and the swelling music is simply amazing, it brings a tear to my eye every time. And seeing Korra so broken yet she smiles with Ikki and Meeloh 😢
The fight between Korra and Zaheer is amazing
"Zaheer seems to be a black belt in running away" is such a vicious burn lmaooo
"Zaheer sure seems to be a black belt in running away." You literally just described Airbending. Lol
I once read lava benders can turn rocks to lava because they can bend small earth particles very fast so the friction turns the rocks into lava. Another fun fact. We saw early airbenders can fly by themselfs on avatar wan episodes. They can do that because they dont have any earthly attachments. But when they meet air bison their love for them made their ability to fly frazzle.
No, those Air Turtle monks were clearly riding air currents. You can see the puffs of air on their feet. Zaheer's flight is true weightlessness.
Book 3 has been such a good book for it's hurting the main character in away that will effect the next book can not wait for book 4
My favorite thing about the lavabender fight in this episode was the way that Gazan seemed legitimately kind of impressed that Bolin could bend lava. Apart from being part of the villain group, he mostly seemed like a pretty chill dude.
platinum tends to be VERY Pure when its found, so I would guess it lacks the impurities that are normally used to bend metal. And she didnt bend them she ripped them out of the rock they were in.
Yeah Mr. Sato mentions that in book 1, that platinum is so pure not even Toph could bend it. As for the chains, Korra ripped some out of the rock and some just snapped same way we can snap chains, by brute force.
My theory on Lava-bending is an earth-bender with joint fire-bender/earth-bender heritage, like Bolin, would have the ability, and the Avatar, of course, because of having the power of four elemental connections. And to me, Ghazan has more a Fire Nation look than an Earth Kingdom look, so it's easy to suspect a joint heritage, and the United Republic is responsible for creating a "melting pot" that would insure this would happen more often now than ever before.
I saw somewhere that since Bolin has parents who are both fire and earth benders, it gives him the rare ability to bend lava. Like Roku was a fire bender who could bend lava BUT I think that power comes from being an Avatar?
The unreal part about this is the fact that Tenzen somehow didn't break a dang bone during his battles with Zaheer and his gang. Rightfully so, Tenzen should have joined Korra with his own wheelchair. Lastly, Korra should have shouted at Zaheer as she whips her chains at him "GET OVER HERE!", like Scorpion of MK fame. 😂
As long as I'm confident in the topic, lava benders are only given the power of bending lava bc one member in their family tree was an fire bender and one was an earth bender.
Been here since your very first avatar reaction, love the journey ♥
The cool thing with the thrusters, is that as the Avatar she can switch from fire to air thrust, controlling her trajectory even more.
LOL, " that's my favorite air Earth metal fu€|< it, Every element!"
my favorite part of this episode is the end, jinora looks SO MUCH like aang, it gives me chills every time that music kicks in
Given that the poison is both metallic and flows like liquid, I think it's fair to say that Korra was poisoned with mercury.
edit: Dang Griz beat me to it.
Which is extremely heavy, poisonous and she should've died almost inmediately from even just the minimum proving again how resilient Korra really is to be even alive
It was indeed, at some point, clarified by someone on the creative side that the e"Poison" was Mercury. Which has long-lasting issues even when you get rid of it.
Great season with an amazing Villain. Rollins did an incredible job.
1:02 Platinum is a natural medal, unlike the everyday medals we used that are processed from rock materials. Bending works pretty psychokinetic on a molecular level seemingly only limited by one’s knowledge of it, but there’s like no trace of a pebble in pure platinum
The music during the final fight and the airbending ceremony are incredible.
It's been established that killing an avatar in the avatar state kills them since Book 2: Earth of the Last Airbender.
15:54 in fact, Aang himself was once sentenced to be boiled in oil by the village of Chin during their Avatar Day festival (before he saved all their asses from the Rough Rhinos lol)
So yes, capital punishment exists in the Avatarverse - the Red Lotus were imprisoned because the White Lotus wanted answers out of them about why they attempted to take kidnap the young Avatar, and dead prisoners don't talk.
What always gets me tearbending in the ceremony is imagining Aang watching it all from the afterlife. Like I'm sooo proud of Jinora but dude I can only imagine how proud Aang is seeing this
0:58 you know, I never could figure out that. I assume that since platinum and other precious metals don't tend to bind to other minerals, it's harder for earthbenders to use. I would imagine that most earthbending is manipulating of the silica in stuff. Hiroshi Sato even commented that the Mecha tanks had made with highly purified platinum.
Speaking of, there seems to be a lot more platinum in the Avatar world. Personally, I would have gone with *aluminum.* Aluminum is light, abundant and became widespread with the rise of electricity; used to separate out the impurities. It could also be a metal unfamiliar to metal benders
One of the things that took me forever to figure out is when Meelo says it smells like "shoe trees" he means it smells like sandalwood.
Such a good finale!!!! A true CRIME season 4 didn’t get aired on TV
Zaheer best bad boy. I'll say it again, casting Henry Rollins was an absolute dark-horse, left-field, WTF master-stroke, and the writers fed that beast with an amazing character.
Re: heat resistance - Radiant heat from lava/magma in this universe is, IMO, largely a BIG suspension of disbelief. From Shyu leading the Gaang through the lava tunnels under the Fire Temple, to Aang, Toph, and Sokka walking and flying through lava-filled tunnels to find Ozai without melting into puddles of goo like the Nazis in Raiders, to Aang standing barefoot on lava flows that instantly ignited his wooden glider, I just can't offer any explanation other than the writers just...chose to ignore it to make the story more exciting. Airbending can be used to insulate and warm, so we can assume it can be used to insulate and protect from heat to a degree (pun intended), but I still don't think that's a good-enough explanation. The air alone would scorch their lungs, their hair would be sizzle-crisped in seconds, their clothing would ignite...Yeah, I think it was just...ignored.
Keeheehee I can’t wait for you to finish season 4, you’ve been one of my FAVORITES reacting to this and ATLA, like ever. Let’s go season 4!!!
This ending reminded so much of the end of Empire Strikes Back. So much loss but with hope on the horizon.
Death penalty definitely exists in ATLA & LOK . Aang was going to be boiled in oil and Korra’s dad was going to be excuted because of Unalaq in book 2.
It did exist when Aang was a boy. But I can't imagine Zuko and him implementing capital punishment in the law of the United Republic of Nations.
Korra came out on top.... but at what cost
So yes it was mercury and if you know what it dose to a person you have a hint about so of what is going to happen next book. i like book 4 best but i my self am person with disabilities and from what i have seen is most people who are do tend to like book 4 best. Hope you will like it. P.S. No fire benders are not they hold fire off them a bit and over time they get use to it lava bender hold it much farther from them but same thing
8:09 Oh... oh no....
did anyone else realize the meme potential there? not just me, I hope.......
The show's logic as to why platinum is not bendable is that it's too pure a metal. Essentially all other metals have microscopic bits of earth minerals in them, but platinum has none. I have no idea if the actual science of this checks out, but that's the show's logic.
Great reaction, you are on of the best who comprehend LOK. We will test your predictions about season 4. What I can tell is that you have good ones and some false, we will see which will be the right ones!
Greatest Avatar villain. Breaks her mentally and physically then helps fix her 😂
Movie lava doesn't generate heat unles you're touching it. Asami, Tenzin, and the brothers should have bursted into flames from being that close to that much lava last episode.
The poison was indeed mercury, and the creators did their homework on what mercury poisoning does do a person.
If Korra is killed in the Avatar state then the cyclke is indeed broken. The cycle nearly ended with Aang when Azula shot lightning up his back at the end of season 2 of ATLA. Plus at the beginning of season 2 Roku told Aang that the cycle will be broken if he is killed in the Avatar state.
I absolutely love your reactions! Please keep up the great work!
1:17 Man, please don't tell me you didn't know this since Aang book 2 😂
And yes the poison was metal bended into her as its a heavy metal poison!
Shoe trees=sandalwood🤭
I think a lot of people miss that cute little joke.
"You can't bend platinum" definitely sounds like the same kind of self imposed limitation as "you can only bloodbend under a full moon" to me.
It's a limitation that has already been shown in ATLA. Earthbenders bend the impurities inside of metal, not the metal itself. Platinum is too pure, it has not enough impurities to be bent
Fictional world has its own rules, oh noooo
3:10 A Star Trek reference in an Avatar reaction? This video is tailor made for me, those are my two very favorite series
Shoe trees - Sandalwood incense.
Another note. Air benders become masters when they invent a new air bending technique. Aang became a master when he invented the ball of air he rides on. Tenzin became a master when he invented the air wheel, and Jinora became a master when she invented tornado bending.
Nope. she was already a master before then, It just took forever for her dad to recognize her.
I think it was the spiritual projection
That's not quite right. They become master when they master 36 airbending moves. Aang just so happened to have learnt 35 and invented a new one, making it 36
You can also become a master by mastering all the skills. Not every air bender invented a new skill.
Jinora actually invented 2 skills before becoming a master. Firstly she invented Spritual Projection and she also invented The Cooperative Air Tornado. It was both of those things as well as her natural leadership that earned her her tattoos.
She also managed to become the youngest air bending master of all time at the age of 11 whereas Aand became a master at the age of 12.
@@AbbieAcheson She invented neither of those things, she just mastered those ALREADY EXISTING skills.
Again with the interference! Korra would have wiped Zaheer out if she wasn't poisoned! & Yes Jinora was the MVP yet again 🤣 she deserves her tats! Also I think the poison was definitely Mercury. Also Ghazan could have survived if he just escaped idk why he chose to die 😂 and Korra definitely went thru it this season I don't blame her for being kinda broken. Best season this show gave us along with the first one. Imagine what Korra would have been if Nick wasn't messing around with the creators since season 1 😩
Doesn't Jinora look just like Aang when she gets her tats lmao its crazy!
This is where I stop, to me this is the perfect ending for the series
13:38 this is beautiful, Aang would be proud
When are you starting season 4?
Unalaq wanted to be a dark avatar
i think due to the nature of it being a children's animated show, they give a lot of leeway towards burn damage. a lot of the fire blasts people would take would do more burn damage or even catch fire imo. so i just give it a pass
Are we getting house of the dragon episode 3 reaction
S2 gets hate because after 4 seasons in the world(3 of ATLA and Korra book1) there was no excuse for the story to be so weak, then they came back with a home run and s4 isn't a miss but s2 is just his red headed step child of the series. s2 does pick up in the middle and does something but they had to take a whole 90d turn to get there first part of s2 is like 'the great divide' episode, you need to watch it your first time through. but on subsequent watches? just save time and skip it XD in this case picking s2 up at beginnings part 1 from there on its an amazing season even if the flying lazer kite is a bit outta place, spirit shits gonna spirit shit XD
I have a theory about Ghazan and his lava bending. Who is the only other lava bender you know here? Bolin. Bolin has one earth bender parent and one fire bender parent. What is lava if not the combination of both? I theorize that Ghazan had one earth bender parent and one fire bender parent, just like Bolin. I imagine Republic City has a ton of earth benders with the potential for lava bending due to their parents being one earth bender and one fire bender. It's just that most of them probably have somewhat mundane jobs that take up their time so they never get to practice their bending to the extent that Bolin or Ghazan has. Bolin was a Pro-Bender turned team Avatar member so he's fighting all time so he's able to reach his full potential. Ghazan, and here's my second Ghazan theory, I believe is a former Triple Triad member. If your "job" is being a criminal, you don't like governments, and you have the time to focus on your bending, Ghazan probably just trained relentlessly then met Zaheer, became a cultist and we know the rest. But that's just a theory, an AVATAR THEORY.
That's not how it works. You're literally implying that Bolin has two elements when humans in this world can only have one unless they're the avatar. Earth is a stubborn element, so it makes sense that phase shifting it is nearly impossible compared to water. Lava is just liquid (phase shifted) earth the same way ice is just solid (phase shifted) water.
Such a good finale!!!! A true CRIME season 4 didn’t get aired on TV
