Molting of Brown Thrasher 7.24.24

This video shows a Brown Thrasher that is molting on July 24, 2024 in my south central Pennsylvania garden. A lot of birds lose their feathers after the breeding period and grow new ones before autumn. This Brown Thrasher looks like it can't wait for the old feathers to be gone and might be eating bugs it picks off her skin. It's a natural process they go through.
