    To this day I'm still absolutely stunned that Trudeau got a single vote. Harper wasn't perfect, but was by far the best PM in my lifetime. There was zero cringe to see him in public at a hockey game or with other leaders on the world stage. Canada repeatedly was called the best place to live. I for one was still a proud Canadian as I had been all my life.

      When I woke up the next morning and heard that Trudeau won, I thought I was in the twilight zone. I couldn't believe anyone fell for that "budget will balance itself" crap. It's like promising that money grows on trees! Absurd.
      I guess I overestimated my fellow Canadians. I'll not be making that mistake ever again.

    • @evanshiong3557
      @evanshiong3557 3 года назад

      Reason: Conservative fatigue, NDP turning off progressive voters with their commitment to balance the budget and get rid of the deficit immediately, Justin Trudeau had this in the bag. Mainly Justin ran on economic stimulus (raise taxes on the wealthiest 1%, cut taxes for the middle class, invest in jobs and growth, etc.).
      And now we have a prime minister that didn’t deliver, has violated ethics laws 3 times, and in 2019 became only the second prime minister to be returned to office with such a low popular vote.
      I give Stephen Harper credit - he only broke one promise that I know of, and didn’t break the law himself.

      CBC main reason... fake news

    • @evanshiong3557
      @evanshiong3557 3 года назад +1

    Does it really need to take 2 years and billions lost for people to START thinking electing Trudeau was a bad idea? Oh right... Harper was a meanie.

    • @ulogy
      @ulogy 6 лет назад

      NoIsaidposse Harper's old policies on Indigenous affairs, marijuana legislation and LGBT rights are what killed him. His overall fiscal policies weren't the issue, it was purely social.

    • @hebber1961
      @hebber1961 6 лет назад

      Eulogy Well those issues can be described as under the mean label too. He didn't hug and cry with native leaders or dance in lgbt parades but I can't think of anything he took away from them. Yes, Trudeau woke up the stoners...for sure. What's the actual policy vs photos and emotion.
      There are other factors too but "mean" was the theme.
      Harper lost because media sold him as mean and he had a trainwreck campaign that was too long. Not that he isn't tough and difficult but I kinda want that in a PM. It's PM not a dance instructor. Plus he scooped the NDP on leftist issues and took away their votes.
      Overall, CBC and others sold him as a meanie who wouldn't work with others and so for those that value pretty and nice over mean, it was an easy choice. Never underestimate the number of people who pay little or no attention, turn on CBC to see what to think and then head to the polls. I know many and I bet you do too. They couldn't tell you a damn thing other than what they hear at election time and for some strange reason they feel the urge to vote.

    I don't know if it's me or what but it seems that conservative politicians make more sense than liberals, here in Canada and in the USA. Maybe I'm tired of "unicorns and rainbows" rhetoric at last which is the bread and butter of progressives and other identity politics adepts. I know one thing tough: I won't vote Trudeau ever again.

    • @tamething1
      @tamething1 6 лет назад +4

      WTF IGO : Conservatives do make more sense. Much more. Watch the House of Commons Question Period (on Steeper33’s channel), and compare Conservative Pierre Poilievre’s common sense points to Liberal Bill Morneau’s endless dodging... and Conservative Candice Bergen’s intelligent questioning to Liberal Bardish Chagger’s word salad non-answers. No contest. Lots of sensible people on the Conservative side. The Liberals and NDP can’t hold a candle.
