      I hated him while PM. first problem was that he wouldn't disclose all the information an informed citizen would like to have access to. I was a law student back then and honestly nobody liked him and his policies lacked explanations to say the least and he did make many laws just to gain votes, which i obviously disagree with. BUT as many former politicians in interviews such as this one, I can only agree with pretty much all he said and some other recent interviews i've just watched. Seems like they really say what they mean when there's no upcoming (or possible) election in sight. I wish all politicians talked their mind at all times because this just proves there's something behind the parties (or some people/group/influence) that's censoring the candidates. Also, the Whip and line of party (is that the correct term/translation? i'm Québécois eh!) have to disapear completely from the political system in Canada to free the candidates from speaking their mind. Cheers

      In a parliamentary system, holding a party line is possibly indispensable.
      That said, having a culture where politicians would be able to air out their genuine perspectives a bit more, could perhaps be beneficial to society as a whole.

    I agree - I am in Vancouver , BC and PM Harper did a great job for the west and getting the economy going again - now big problems Alberta can not sell more oil without another pipeline . I agree it should not come into our city but up the coast we have deep water and the mountains are right there so the huge oil tanks could be built into the mountains to prevent spills . Our new PM - is a buddy with Hillary and promised the Clinton Foundation $241.5 million of tax payers money with $20 million first payment / the Justin is having pictures taken with John Podesta - do you like Pizza ? Uranium One is from Canada - maybe they need drama school teachers at GITMO ? stay tuned - TRUST THE PLAN !

    • @bcstud3641
      @bcstud3641 6 лет назад +2

      I could not agree more . I have done mining worked underground from 1968 to 2010 - Alberta has so much oil - build the new pipelin and refinery close to Hudsons Bay and then new pipeline to Toronto . Weather is changing - to much oil the Irving Oil buys come from the Middle East . Here in Washington State gas is 1/2 the price we pay in Vancouver . $1.50 liter . We need a new leader with some balls - Hudsons Bay - northern Quebec - northern Canada need new roads and a rail way to move in heavy equipment . 1867 the railway came across Canada and that is it . Remember when you vote - NO MORE LIBERALS !

    • @P7777-u7r
      @P7777-u7r 6 лет назад +1

      If i were premier of BC i would give 7 conditions for the pipeline
      1. in the unlikely event of a spill alberta agrees to pay all the damage costs. Its only fair and i guarantee if BC was ever piping anything across alberta the albertans would demand the same
      2. BC is allowed to re create the BC Provincial Police in place of the RCMP
      3. BC is allowed to make its own trade agreements with foreign nations independent of federal ones
      4. BC will be allowed to develop its own energy projects including oil without harassment from federal agencies
      5. An end to equalization payments
      6. The right to refuse entry to BC for birth tourists as well as those who got in through the quebec or other provinces "investor immigration" (aka cash for visa) program as well as the right to refuse the sale of resource companies mineral claims or land to anyone from red china
      7. and most importantly: BC gets full unconditional jurisdiction over all offshore resources and seaports from the feds including shipping and a lift on the federal offshore oil exploration ban. There is a very real possibility BC could have a lot of oil offshore that BC could use to become totally energy independent with enough to sell and make a decent profit.

      @bcstud3641 6 лет назад

      It comes down to Eastern Canada does not look to the West except for a Cash Cow . Alberta was milked like a cow dry when oil was booming ? We have the Bank of Canada - yet since the 1970's the politicians borrow money from the BIS (Bank of International Settlements) - Paul Hellyer former Minister of Defence said we have paid the banking cabal over $1.3 trillion in interest . Same as the UFO coverup ? they come here all the time ? Under Antarctica the 4th Reitch is alive and well and this will come out in the future . Admiral Byrd in the Operation Paper Clip say the saucers could fly from pole to pole in 1946 . Maybe Germany had already gone to Mars back then ? remember what you read in the newspapers in hype controlled by the rich ? Tesla in 1900 drove around in a car than would do 90 mph with 4 electric motors on each wheel . The earths rotation generates the power - this is what the pyramids all over the world do - massive power plants !

      @bcstud3641 6 лет назад

      Frank Giustra was buddies with Bill Clinton for along time and we have to see what those sealed indictments contain . for sure , Trudeau is part of the New World Order - pisses me off with the unchecked immigration when we have a huge homeless population and winter coming . Just today , in 2 years the rent for a 1 bedroom apartment has gone from $1500 a month to $2100 a month . Houses $1 -3,000 a sq. ft . - young people are screwed - most have a $50,000 debt for their education and then gas now $1.60 a liter .

      @ K AitkenLook at the prices in the stores. They have climbed higher in the stores not by internal inflationary numbers which is about 2.3% but by about 20-25%. Bread and beef prices even in Alberta have climbed far higher under Trudeau's (non) leadership. When the Canadian dollar falls prices climb to compensate especially for imports. The Canadian dollar is worth more than 40% less than when Harper was around. While the government projects inflation at 1.8- 2.3% per year during Trudeau's leadership actual inflation was 5 times greater because the foreign investors dumped the Canadian dollar. It might have been OK if Obama was around but with Trump in the US now it is worse because money is moving to the US which means investors are selling Canadian dollars and buying the greenback. So we are being screwed wherever we turn. Business people will say how Trudeau is great etc... but look at where the money is going. That is what counts. Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. Do you know what a cell phone bill costs in the US from AT&T? $28-$36. In Canada a plan starts at $80. Do you know why it cost so much to bank in Canada? There is no competition none everyone colludes and sets the price. Canadians are stupid because they are willing to pay to protect the telecom industry to screw Canadians than allow AT&T and other here. Why? We are Canadians. We are willing to lynch ourselves because of idiots like you hate the US. The idiots in Canada are willing to kill Canada because they hate Trump and America.

      I hope you are not mocking Canadian power. Canada doesn't have military might but we certainly have power. The worlds largest Uranium reserves, the third largest fossil fuels reserves, immense hydro-electric potential, phenomonal gold, diamond, potash, coal and many other resources. The largest timber resources in the world, and a highly skilled work force that can develop and deliver them, safely and in an ethical way.

    • @jamesmatthew1903
      @jamesmatthew1903 6 лет назад +3

      I'm not saying Canada doesn't have power, they're absolutely a geopolitical force. I did say it mockingly though because who wouldn't mock a country being run by someone as woefully unqualified as Justin Trudeau.

    • @peterhessels2903
      @peterhessels2903 6 лет назад

      You are sooo correct. It's the biggest embarassment Canada has ever had to face. The lesson to be learned here is that when you have an entrenched taxpayer funded media and a politician promises it massive funding increase, expect the most biased reporting imaginable. Not just from the state -run broadcaster but from any journalist who has ambitions of riding on the ultimate journalist gravy train- the Communist Broadcasting corporation. The AVERAGE pay for a C.B.C. employee- $100,000/yr + the best benefits available.

    Socialism is like candy for the poor and the people in power. Everyone likes candy. Its hard to resist. You are going to have to reform our governnance models if you want to get rid of socialism. Democracy will always let it in. First in small portion, then it grows and grows and grows.

    • @Nionivek
      @Nionivek 6 лет назад

      The poor tend not to eat up socialism as much as it seems. For the longest time it had a tendency to only be popular in affluent circles and the only reason it has any foothold among the poor now is because they attached "social justice" to it... and well socialism likes to create dependent voters.

      @malmn, They are all Capitalist with high social spending (and are now suffering from various problems which might push them away from even that) and quite a few of them consider being called Socialist to be insulting... The actual socialist countries are all terrible places to live so far... though perhaps there will be an exception one of these days. (It is actually funny... Countries that are actually socialist are "Not real socialism" and Countries that are actually Capitalist are "Real socialism".)

    You don't know what you go til it's gone. I was starting to grow tired of Harper during his last years as PM at the time, but after 2/3 of Trudeau's FIRST term, I am more than happy to say that Harper was an incredible PM and at least had the wits to have an economic background and made Canada have additional trade deals with more countries than any Prime Minister. Perhaps over time, that can help offset any downfalls that a negative NAFTA renegotiation may have.
