I think there are a couple of things that need to be emphasised here, if I may.
First what is shown in this video is Awana Resorts World Genting (about RM300 per night). While this hotel is in Genting Highlands, it is definitely not by any yardstick the best hotel there. The best hotel in Genting Highlands is generally considered to be either Crockfords Resorts World Genting (about RM1,300 per night) or The Highlands Resort World Genting (about RM1,700 per night). All three hotels, and many others thereabouts, are owned and managed by Resorts World which is a company of the Malaysian based multinational Genting Group, the developer of Genting Highlands.
Second this Awana Hotel is at about 3,000 feet above sea level which is at mid-level of Genting Highlands. Being not at the very top of Genting Highlands, it is not very popular, so usually quite empty as you yourself remarked in the video.
All the attractions so the speak of Genting Highlands are at the top (about 6,000 feet above sea level). There one will find the Casino, the Outdoor and the Indoor Theme Parks, a number of hotels including First World Hotel the largest in the world as well as the Crockfords and the Highlands already mentioned, various malls, various restaurants and food courts, and many others.
Thanks for sharing! To what I’ve heard those hotels you’ve mentioned are very outdated and over priced only due to location.
Such a misleading title! Never know there is "the best hotel" in Genting! Besides its not on top of d hill resort itself. Genting hill's attractions is not its many hotels
Hi Yad! I’m always following your videos and I’m so amazed of the things you’ve been posting i learned a lot, you couple always be safe❤❤❤
Thank you for watching the videos Maria! I’m glad you’re enjoying them ❤️❤️
Wow such a huge and beautiful hotel. Amazing view of the clouds. It just looks so empty
It really is! So stunning above the clouds 😊
This is not Genting Highland Hotel. It is Awana Resort.
Awana is under different management. Awana hotel is not a good hotel, just 3 star standard. Malaysian dont usually go to this hotel. Its an old hotel. The service is really bad. Pls avoid the hotel.
Only golfers really stays in Awana.
You should go to Genting Highlands. Better and exciting atmosphere.
It’s a 4 star hotel, and has been renovated (so definitely doesn’t have an outdated look like the others). But you’re very right, the service was horrid.
Thanks for sharing! Agreed as you say the service is very bad! But it is a lovely hotel.
Thanks for this wonderful video n for showing your explorations in Genting Highlands. D view from your hotel room is amazing, lovely. Its one of d cool places in Malaysia.
That's what I don't quite understand, it looked like a low tourists season, yet d service was also low, it should be warm n welcoming hospitality for d guests.
Thank you for watching Yasin! The view was lovely indeed

Yes Yatt, the views of the hotel were amazing, truly beautiful. Thank you so much for watching ❤

Beautiful Genting Highlands, new friend for you from Indonesia
Hello lovely friend 😊 Thank you for watching all the way from Indonesia, we’re planning to visit there soon ❤️
Thank you for watching my friend ❤️🙏
I went there back in 1991..it was nice for golfers..the golf courses at that time were one of the superb in Asia region..
I'd never been there since after that...but the scenery still looks good..👍
Absolutely! The scenery is really lovely there. One of the reasons why we chose there as it’s right next to the rainforest. Beautiful!
Indeed the scenery is beautiful!
Happy to have you in Malaysia! Have you visited Kuala Gandah elephant sanctuary in Lanchang, Berjaya Colmar Tropicale in Bukit Tinggi which are near Genting? Best places to enjoy KL is around Masjid Jamek (the River of Life), Dataran Merdeka (beautiful architecture), Central Market for souvenirs, Petaling Street (Chinatown), Kwai Chai Hong Alley for pictures, nearby is famed Merchants Lane Cafe for fusion meals and coffee, local eateries (evening) on Jalan Raja Muda Musa in Kampung Baru.
Hello Ezuin, thank you so much for your message. We have visited Bukit Tinggi and there will be a vlog on it shortly. We have also explored Chinatown and Central market from the places you have mentioned. The others we will need to take a look! Thank you for your recommendations 😊

Thank you Charles! We absolutely love nature, especially mountains. We found the views to be spectacular. We heard so many fantastic things about Sabah, and hopefully we can make it!
I second, third and fourth this idea. You should check out kundangsang Sabah. Its breathless beauty. You have a fantastic view of mount kinabalu. U guys should try this. My recommendation stay at the kinaballu pines resort in kundangsang. you will never regret the views there.

Thanks for sharing Mike! I hope to make it there soon 🙏
Bone marrow soup we Malay call it sup gearbox, very healthy dish taste so good when eating it in a cold weather..Awana is an old hotel not a five star hotel but I find it nice, especially the view and surrounding
It’s a 4 star hotel and has a modern and clean look and feel as has just been freshly renovated. The problem was not the hotel per se, but rather the poorly service. ☹️Yes, Yad very much enjoyed the soup 😊
It was very very tasty!! Glad it was a local dish and i got to try it! :)
awana resort is an affordable retreat...don't expect superb service for the price. this is not a 5 stars anyway..and during holiday season all Genting hotel will be fully booked :)
Yes brother nice vloging well Dan 👍

Hi guys . What a shame the Genting Highlands have a magnificent view..

Sounds yummy 😋
Most of the travellers and visitors stays in 3-stars First World Hotel due to the hotel is near to the main attractions which are the theme park and luscious mall. Furthermore, the hotel also got its own attraction ; names to be the largest hotel in this planet.
Yeah but most locals choose not to stay in fwh first world hotel. mainly because of its many stories of hauntings. the reason why many hotels in genting are actually haunted is because of the massive amount of suicide cases there. main reasoning for the suicide cases is due to loses or bankruptcy due to gambling at the casinos. so many people hanged themselves because of having gambling debts. Genting is also very famous for its supernatural tourism as well. any may think these are just urban legends or old wives tales. when it comes to genting, Malaysians has dozens and dozens of stories to tell. most of them are from direct real experience or contact with the supernatural entities.
@@ChezhAvailability FWHotel haunted? Most local choose not to stay FWH?🤔 I think you misinterpreted with Amber Court. FWHOTEL each time on weekend and holiday seasons is always fully booked.
We arrived late at night to Awana as it’s close to rainforest and we wanted to fly our drone. We went up to the main place in the morning, but unfortunately didn’t feel that the service or ambience was any better. Maybe we just caught the place on an off day 😊
This makes sense! But i guess its down to personal preference. :)
There are so many hotel in genting highland..1st world is the buzzziest..which u need atleast 1to2 hours to checkin during on peek season.
Thanks for sharing!
this is because u choose to stay at AWANA HOTEL..that is OLD HOTEL...U should CHOOSE the NEW HOTEL at the TOP of the MOUNTAIN
I heard the hotel at the top of the mountain is very old and not as nice!!
You should go to the top of the highlands, a popular place for visitors from Asia
Yes, for sure, we arrived to Awana late at might, and made our way up the next day. The vlog is to follow 😊

Hi I'm from India we are planing to kuala Lumpur on March 16th cloud you me suggest us to go at this time just saw yesterday news regarding floods in malayasia we booked flight tickets hotels everything please suggest us it helps alot
The city is fine but there are some surrounding areas that have some flooding. I wouldn't worry too much about it though.
What is hotel name?
Was it a week day or weekend? It makes a difference.
This was the weekend. But if I recall correctly, this was some sort of public holiday weekend, so perhaps people were celebrating with families or traveling abroad (as the actual theme park and casino area was also fairly quiet).
@Dace Daine even immigration offices were flooded by applicants and had to work sat and sun. They went or are going overseas I guess.

What’s the name of hotel
I prefer day trip only to Genting, as I always feel that the hotels there have 👻 friends 😅😅
I think a day trip is perfect !!
Hi guys. Location great, hotel lovely but coffee in a plastic cup!! Clean your chosen seating area! Not what is acceptable at a 5star. In fact we have rarely encounted that anywhere. I know some hotel guests can be rude and upset staff which can make them resentful but that is not the case here and Agree 💯 that cold blunt attitudes from staff in a hotel, shop or public can really mar the experience. It is as though they would rather you not there. A bit like a shop assistant who reacts put out because you would like to buy something! Interesting how peoples behaviour differ towards visitors in various places. We wonder how others felt staying there. Shame as it certainly looked lovely.
As for the marrow, not for me but Cath likes it though she couldn't eat alot like Yad did or she would be ill!
Always a joy to watch, see you next time 👋👌💕
Hi Keith, you’re so right about staff having the power of shaping your experience… it’s a shame as the hotel in itself was renovated and lovely for the price point, with the most stunning views, but having clueless, rude staff who make you feel like a burden every time you ask a question is just a big no no in hospitality. And plastic cups and cutleries in hotels is my biggest pet hate!!! Oh well, not every experience can be the best, we’ve just gotta take the rough with the smooth ay. Haha yes, you know Yad gets stuck in with all the foods, the bone marrow is not for me either eeeeek! Hope you and Cath are doing well. I think you’re soon due to Ireland?
@@dacedaine822Hi, yes we go end of April. Before that Caths son and his wife are coming to stay with us here and we have a car and driver booked to take us on a trip to Ben Haddou, and the Gorges. We are staying in Tinghre and eventually on to Mezouga for a night in the desert. Cant wait! Saw your trip out there too. 🐪 should be a bit warmer in the desert at night now, but will go prepared!! 😍
@@keithbrandon8540 Oh, that’s lovely! I’m sure it’ll be a fabulous trip. We loved it, but were extremely unlucky with the hotel’s tour we’ve picked. We just trusted our hotel to book us on a decent experience, but it was honestly awful. For 20 bucks extra, there were better options. But I’m sure you know by now what’s good and what’s not, or are you managing the whole trip by yourselves? In which case that would be the best option as you can take your time with things. We want to return to Morocco just to do that whole trip again, but this time on our own. Have an amazing time with your family!
@@dacedaine822 Thankyou so much for the good wishes. We have booked a driver( who we have met) through a Moroccan local friend. He has a buisness for these kind of tours. We were able to discuss our route, stops, visits, price etc. We chose our own hotel for the night stop over in Tingher and booked that separately. Bit of sight seeing next day before he takes us to the meet up place for our camel trek and night in desert. This we also booked separately. We then get met next day back at Mezouga and driven home via a few stops and photos etc. It will just be the four of us plus driver which I'm pleased about because I'm not that tolerant to people who waffle on and dont look out the window! Sorry if thats rude and I know people are all there for the same reason but some are so loud it irritates me as I may not want to hear their conversation! Any way we were going to hire a car but to be honest I wanted my family to sit back and enjoy the ride as they do alot of driving work related. It will be Ramadan too so am expecting the usual hospitality and amazing food. Will let you know how it goes! 🥰
@@keithbrandon8540 Wow, love the sound of all of your plans! And you’re doing it all by yourself which is amazing. We did our whole Morocco trip by ourselves, apart from the desert as thought it’d be easier to have a guided tour. I’ll be looking forward to hearing all about your adventures in April! Very excited for you.
How you start your travelling journey... When you had no money in the Beginning?
I started my travelling journey while i was working! 🙏
@@YadVenturess so you still working.. or not?
signboards here are notoriously confusing, or sometimes non-existent.. they assume you should know or you should ask around.. oh dear..
Indeed! Wish there was more signs around lol.
Thanks for emphasizing the poor hospitality as I have heard of the poor service from way back 20 years ago and nothing has changed. We lose out to our neighbours Thailand hands down. Hope this country bucks up on tourism promotion and improved services as the potential for tourism is enormous in Malaysia. Hope you have had an otherwise enjoyable stay in Malaysia. A point to note is Malaysia is made up of East and West Malaysia so Sabah and Sarawak have their ethnic groups too like the mainly Kadazans in Sabah and Iban, Dayaks in Sarawak which make up a significant number.
I hope that it improves in the future, step by step I'm sure it will 🙏
u stay awana?? actually it an very old hotel...it not even in the best hotel in genting category...
the best hotel in genting now is croford hotel up on the hill
Oh really? That's very interesting... We will have to check that one out!
Most hotels up there looked very outdated and run down though when we looked. Awana was newly renovated and was clean, hence we chose it, but doubt the service is any better in the other hotels, or is it good? Everywhere seemed very unwelcoming and miserable service-wise when we went up the next day 😢

awana used to be called haunted hotel of genting mid hill...becoz too old. ..previously golfer like to stay there but in recent time the golf course also not very popular with golfer now due to sof ground.
Awana Genting use to served the customers of awana cable car which is the first cable car service in genting back in the 80s...tht why it called awana hotel ...same name as the cable car station...

@@blizzard9954 The hotel is definitely not “old”. It’s newly refurbished and has a fresh, modern look and super clean (no nasty red carpets etc). We arrived to Awana late at night and went up to Genting in the morning, but can’t say there was a better service up there; staff mostly pretty rude and cold which totally takes away from the experience. So good!
Bro can I asked something?
Of course 💪
Most of the workers there are either scared out of their socks working there having to deal with daily hauntings at night, or they have to deal with the daily 1 hour commute to and fro to kl city. one of the reasons why the workers there may not be as warm as in other places in msia. genting highlands is notoriously known to be like a ghost magnet area. theres a lot of supernatural tourism there as well. many of the ghost hunters, supernatural reality shows goes there to research and try to film hauntings there. many of the times the hauntings appear to be real mainly because of spirits of those who deceased roamed there. most of them were past victims from suicide cases due to gambling debts and loses. its not funny or a joke as a malaysian, we take this very seriously. we have the beliefs in this especially when u have listen to stories even from skeptics who had real experiences unexplainable in gentng. its really fun in the day. but be very cautious at night. there will be things at work here that u can see but cant feel.
Thank you for sharing! It’s truly sad to hear about people taking their lives over losses in gambling. I was quite astounded to see that a predominantly Muslim country would permit casinos… We were out at night and at no point felt any supernatural or strange activities, but I’m sure these things do happen.
This is very interesting! Sad to hear about what has previously happened.
@@YadVenturess yes, l heard stories too.
The spirits that are roaming around there are unclean/demonic spirits disguised as the deceased. The souls of the deceased had gone on to another place of no return/entry to this world.
