A quick easy way to measure for long pieces of wood when butting into angles

  • I have to measure from a square end to an out side angle. It’s critical that it’s perfect and the long point is what matters so I use a piece of wood the same height as the final piece, cut the angle on it and double check the saw is set perfectly. I then measure back and square down at an easy number and transfer the mark into the face of where I’m measuring then but the tape into the square end get the number and add it to the number from the block.

    All fine and dandy till u forget to add the 10 inches 😳. How many times I’ve held at an inch to be precise then promptly forgot to add the inch😬. Great idea tho😜
