TFC's Track Tutorial Part 1 - Intro & Example Track

- Welcome to my track tutorial series. Hopefully these tutorials will help you get involved in making tracks, and if you already are hopefully you'll be interested in some of my methods. Over the series I'll be making a replica of Maggiora, the MXGP version (2015-ish). I'm going to cover importing replica terrain, using L3DT, using GIMP, using the MXB track tools and also how to get your track into Blender and how to get your objects out. Part 1 - In this part we'll be taking a basic look at how the track development folder works, how the in game track folder works, and how to get a track in game.

I think I’m doing something wrong every time I run trh.bat, centerline, and map it doesn’t go into the testtrack folder
Same with me dont know what is happening
when i load up my game, after i had put the track in the tracks folder. there is no track when i come in? Like about here 7:23

im trying to make the first .trh file and its just not running but i can make the map file?

@@ryanwoodliff1282 same. I can generate the new trh/map/centerline files just fine, I followed everything step by step and have rewatched multiple times, I have the newest Tools and example track and the track shows up in game but the game crashes while loading track everytime

someone help me. I cant launch the test track to even make sure i did that part right. it just boots me off bikes
Everything works up until I delete the files and run the trh.bat and map.bat. the erased folders never come back in my test track folder.
Nvm I'm a idiot. I put testrack on map instead of testtrack lol

I managed to get test track into mx bikes game, but when I try to load in it just shuts the game down? Anyone know what the problem maybe

Thanks TFC, I'm looking forward to the rest of them. I'm a bit of a do it yourself, bang your head against the wall trying to figure it out type so Hahaha this was a great start to let me know the general flow of renaming things and what sequence. I'm really interested in the textures. I've got the height map part down, I work in Leveller/Photoshop I just need help with understanding how to lay the textures out for the map.
Also, I hope you can buy some beers with 10 bucks Hahaha

Hi mate. Do you know of any reason why the TRH and MAP files wouldn't generate after running the .bats?
I have terrained & tracked files in the main folder.
Renamed everything (trh map centreline) in note++ (several times) using uppercase, lowercase. no spaces etc
Tried to keep it simple and named everything testtrack like you have. But the .bat files run, but produce nothing. I've done it exactly as you've shown and as in the readme but get nothing.
Any ideas? I feel like its a windows or program setting blocking the process.
Ok I think I sorted this.
Running the process as administrator seemed to fix it. I can't replicate it so can't be 100% sure, but's that's all I did different, and haven't had to run as admin or had the problem since.
You have to go to file and save. that will allow them to run. just figured this out myself so, sorry if its a bit late.
resave trh along with center line and map to ANSI file type.This is mainly becuase CMD is dumb as shit and cant figure that out

followed the directions to a T, even retrying multiple times and cant get the test track to show up in game. any help?

This is awesome! Coming from mx sim to mx bikes the community is releasing much more on mx bikes. I want to build some local tracks to start with and add to the growing community. Thanks for great content

Hi when I put testtrack folder in to mods/tracks folder it doesn't show up in game. I downloaded the latest track tools and example track files but still not showing up. Any ideas?
fixed, took the upper case T out of Testtrack and it worked somehow. Now to fix the next problem... Track shows in game but crashes when I go to play.

I have same problem I got the track in the game but when I try to load in the game crashes, how did you fix?
@@michaelodriscoll4489 If I remember correctly i just made sure to not use Capital letters and went through the steps again in the tutorial.
Also for some reason my file names don’t show the extension for example .tga
So try naming the file without .tga .shd etc
I do find that rather odd but it works for me no with no problems. Hope this helps

When I run trh.bat the file does not show in my folder
Whenever I run the _trh.bat it doesn't create the files in the example folder even when I run it as an administrator.

@TFC I have mirrored your pt. 1 tutorial twice now and the track still does not show up in game. The only thing that I see that is different is that your two .EDF files (background & gate) open with an unknown program while mine is labeled as opening with blender. They are both however .EDF files, same as yours. Not sure if this has any effect or not.
Hey dude sorry I have no idea.. It doesn't matter what program is associated with a file, it doesn't change the file itself. It seems like 1 out of 50 people have trouble and my only guess is its a permissions thing. Best thing to do is post on the forum and ask PiBoSo directly. Sorry I can't help more.
@@TFCMods I noticed that I dnld'd the track tools and example track from the threads home page, versus the updated versions on the next page. Trying that now. Will edit with an update. UPDATE: Two things at play here, I noticed that I labeled my desktop folder with a space (you advised not to) and I replaced both track tools and example track files with the newer versions at the bottom of page 2 in the forums thread. One of the two, if not both of those revisions worked! Thx for the quick response and making these tutorials!

i cant run the .bat files it says windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions.

Great! I really want to make my home track :) How long does it take to make a good track hour wise?
Good question man.. Which is your home track? To make Ironman took me about 3 months of on and off work. To make other tracks has taken less time. Depends how much quality you want to give it and what you want out. What some people can do in a week might take others a day. Really hard to estimate.
@@TFCMods It is a track in sweden called "Bogebanan" or Ulricehamn MK if you search for the club name :)

@@linusnilsson2734 dude that track looks perfect! Gentle elevation, loads of great looking jumps and a minimal environment. Should be a great first track for a replica. Let me know how you get on 🤙

Just a warning do not download the track tools from the first page like he did in the video, they no longer work with the newest build of the game. Scroll down and download the updated beta 15 tools from the end of page 2 posted by piboso on November 16, 2020

guys the fix to the .bat files not working is to just resaves them as a ANSI file type. if its any of the other kinds CMD will just crash
