    I just got my A77II today, upgrading from an A58. First time I shot with that AF screen I felt like I had to hold on for dear life. I LOVE it!

      Maxwell Starr I have an a58 and really like it but was thinking of upgrading for professional shooting. Is it worth it? I know the kit lens it comes with is amazing but I can buy that separate and attach to my a58. With same lens do you notice a big difference?

    • @MaxwellStarr
      @MaxwellStarr 9 лет назад +1

      The a77ii adds much more functionality, solid build quality, faster autofocus, a bit better in low light and an all around faster camera. It isn't a huge leap in image quality using the same lens, but you would be getting a camera built to withstand the abuse a professional camera would get.
      When I was upgrading I bought the Sigma 17-50/2.8 first and it made a huge difference in image quality, the Sony 16-50 is better still, but as far as image quality goes theres a bigger jump by changing lenses than cameras. However the a77ii is very much worth it and if you can afford to buy both in the kit at the same time, I would.

      Thanks for the reply. This is exactly what I needed to know. I'll probably start with the lens first then as money permits upgrade the camera.

    the second lens used in the video is not the 50/1.4 zeiss prime, but the sony 50mm/f1.4.

    I have sonys alpha mark 2. And i must say there are soo many features that i havenot been able to identify or use all of them in even 7 years. I love the camera and the way it lets you personalise it to your preference it is best in the business. I believe even today it is standing high with other modern cameras.

    This is a fantastic review which talks about many things which other reviews just don't cover. By the way, I purchased an A77 II from B&H, and I LOVE it! It is a nearly perfect camera, and I'm so glad I went with it! I'll be taking great shots with this for a long time to come!

    At the 2:18 mark: "While the original A77 could shoot bursts at 12 frames a second, the exposure had to be locked."
    That is incorrect. In both cameras, the 12fps mode supports both auto exposure and autofocus. In both cameras, the *aperture* must remain locked when shooting 12fps, but that's not the same thing.

    Does the a77II have access to the Sony app store?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  10 лет назад +1

      According to Sony's tech support, the A77 II would not have access to the Sony App Store, and apps could not be installed in the camera. *Christina* askbh@bandh.com

    Nice vid. Got my a77II a couple of months ago to take the place of my dear old a300, but realy miss a good guide book to learn the more advanced things with the camera. Anyone here know of a good book for me? I have my eyes on Gary Friedmans version, but it still isn't available.

    How many still use Wireless LAN Routers, with this camera one requires such to send images to PCs by Wi Fi?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  2 года назад

      There are a few cameras like the Canon EOS 1DX Mark III that still use wireless LAN connections to send images using a device like the Canon WFT-E9A. In regards to the A77 II, it offered built in Wi-Fi connectivity which would connect to the Sony Playmemories app for image transfer.

    • @CANDUN121
      @CANDUN121 2 года назад

      It does have built in Wi Fi connectivity, linking the camera to a PC via Wi Fi Take a bit of practice to enable such, depending on what one wants to do Entering ones Wi Fi password, by way of Wi Fi Access Input text panel?

      Camera to Computer Problem solved 'found' a WPS Button on the side of the household black 'broadband' router.
      I pressed it, it synced with my camera, camera to PC/laptop connection made, did a test image, it works

  • @dborked

    It's a little disappointing that Sony didn't integrate a headphone jack or the Silent Multi Controller that are on the A99. It also would've be nice to have dual card slots. Still a nice upgrade to the original A77, it just seems like Sony held back a little.

    • @cadmus777
      @cadmus777 10 лет назад

      Agreed. I was also hoping for an APS-C A99, and apart from those 3 things you mentioned we did get it (plus the few extras like great focussing), but those 3 seem like they could have been included without sabotaging their cameras further up the line...

    A test no one does-compare Sony a6000 vs Sony a77II of kids on swing going to and from you. How well does the af tracking do in that situation. Should tell people with a6000 if they need an a77II.

    Which is better for wedding photography sony a77ii or nikon d7200?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  8 лет назад

      +Mafdy Ashraf Either could easily be used for shooting weddings. The only reservations I would have regarding the Sony would be the Electronic Veiwfinder, which would take some time to get used to if you have never used a camera with one before, and the available accessories. Nikon will have many more lenses and flash options to choose from, especially for 3rd party options, that are not there for Sony. *Andrea

    B and H Sony camera are awesome but I heard they quite an awful baterry life especially when you compare with Nikon SLRs . Do discuss about battery life as well as It's also important for some people.

      I've just purchased the a77ii, but have a77, a65, a55, a58, and I can tell you with those, I have no issues with battery life. I shoot mainly sports, and can shoot a complete football game or basketball game and not worry about battery.

    B and H does this camera accept flashes of Canon / Nikon without hotshoe adapter?

    • @13druid13
      @13druid13 9 лет назад

      Tom Jf Yes. I believe all of the newer Sony's have dumped the proprietary one and use a traditional or standard hot shoe now. I have a Neewer TT560 and it works fine on both my a58 (which is older) and Canon 70d
