You have no idea of their background. They are every cautious. As a drone pilot, I would not like anyone flying around my house or even that close. While you know what you are doing, they have no idea.

As a drone pilot. I find drones annoying. I think you guys handled it well and validated him. A little bit of situational awareness goes a long way.
It's so hard to fly when I find what I'm doing annoying as well. Now I'm up at 3 a.m. hiding in industrial areas flying.

Sorry, Ken. I think you’ve lost objective perspective on FPV flying in parks. ~Most~ people are probably scared to death of our fast and furious machines. I see your footage and if it was me (and my spotter hadn’t “spotted” the dude under the tree). I would have put down and gone to apologize and assure the person. Then I would have left to go fly where there are no people.
If there are people in the vicinity of my flying (recreational or business), I talk with them first to make sure they are confident in my flying, and comfortable with the disruption to their environment.
IMHO, you’re wrong here.
The homeless population usually hides out so it's hard to find them even in parks. They actually wandered in after we had already started flying and I didn't notice them until dude came up to us. Worked out good in the end though.

The only thing i dont agree on, is provoking them by flying around them. It's a pilots job to educate ppl that are triggered, not trigger them more. Not start hoovering around them but land asap... You dont know how they will react physically while with the goggles on. You might loose control and hit other people at full throttle, like the ones in the back passing by over the grass.
People provoke themselves, not drones. Also, never fly beyond your skill level. No one was in any danger with me flying.

Once experienced a person claiming that the neighbours were spraying her with gas through the holes in the mains outlet....
Talking to people, telling about the mission, has so far turned out more then well. One person offered me to use their balcony as starting/landing spot.
That's why I fly where I can't see any people at all..occasionally I still get random homeless people walking through the area though, yeah they just want to juice you for money when they see you have a drone.
