Hi, My name is Amauri, and I'm studying here on RUclips, and I'm in need of someone who can help me with English and I'll help with Portuguese, I'll let my contact be interested in this experience.
My Brazilian landlady from Rio walked by my room and heard me listening to this. She gave her stamp of approval as well. Keep up the good work. i'm following for sure.
I met an attorney in Rio who was from Ipanema. We had chatted on the internet and I said that I would meet her when I visited Rio. She saw me at a cash machine and told me on Facebook. Her brother is a policeman and told her how to find me. I met her at a bar and she gave me a big hug and kiss. I had already hooked up with my Airbnb landlady in Santos so I couldn’t have a relationship with her like she wanted. It was bad timing. The girl from Ipanema. Brazil is always an amazing place for me to visit. The people are very nice.
A way that I remember that "gosta" takes "de" is to think of it as being the translation of "is fond of", rather than "likes". But what he is most fond of is his favorite dog food in the morning. That way "of" and "de" match. Even though "likes" is more common, "is fond of" has essentially the same meaning, and has the same grammatical structure in Portuguese.
That helps me a lot! Thanks. Having “Of” after “gosto” is strange and difficult for me to understand because I have to translate everything into English to understand. I’ve been doing that for over 8 years now so I’d like to find a way to learn without translating. Thanks
Thank you for this video. really enjoyed this lesson. I have been learning Brazilian Portuguese since March. I look forward to more videos like this. :)
Hi Paulo. For me this is a very good way of learning. I have bought audio books in Portuguese for this exact purpose. I like that you go through the text very thoroughly. I have learnt many languages, including Spanish. Superficially Brazilian Portuguese is similar to Spanish. The biggest difficulty for me is the pronunciation. But when you explain in detail, as you do, it makes sense! Please make more videos like this. Thank you!
I really like this method I have been looking for the right method for me to learn Portuguese. I had learned Spanish 3 years in school and college now I want to learn Portuguese. Brazil is one of my dream places to go.
Good luck! I love Brazil and have visited it 18 times now but I still can’t read or converse which is frustrating. I study and practice every day. I have been practicing for over 5 years now with my girlfriend who only speaks Portuguese but I still can’t converse or understand what she’s saying so I have to translate it into English in my head or with a translator. I think it’s because of how my brain works.
Thank you! More of this please. I was following your English channel because when you do these there, you read the English and if there's a difference in the way natives express something in Brazilian Portuguese, you clarify. One of my biggest problems is that I translate English expressions a pé da letra em pt, and this doesn't work most of the time.
i like your efforts to make this video it's more good for beginners so keep it up brother and make many more please make some more videos on irregular verbs and regulars also.
Great video thank you. You may have heard of the news in level program. There is a voice recording right under a text. Are there any similar applications or sites?
Pleaseeeeeee pleaseee keep making more videos like this! Before watching your channel i tried doing the same thing with chatgpt but i do not know how to pronounce properly or the context behind it! ❤ your videos help me learn faster! Maybe also do the same thing with english songs translated to brazilian Portuguese! I think that would be wonderful for memorization as well❤!
Me too.. Personally, this is the best way to learn a foreign language. This is how I learned English, Spanish and Romanian. I just created a channel to help people who want to learn Portuguese using this methodology. Feel free to check out my first video 😊
This is a very good way to see the vocabulary in use. I biggest problem is hearing the words and understanding them. I'm OK reading the text but I struggle with understanding when I hear someone speaking. Thanks.
When I’m translating what I’m reading I don’t know which meanings to use many times. Sua can mean multiple things for example. Your or his. Reading is still very difficult for me
You have to use "Seu" for masculine words and "Sua" for feminine words. Example: "O SEU carro é muito bonito!" Tradução: Your car is very beautiful! Contextualization: 1) The definite article of the sentence is "O" (The), because it is a masculine phrase. Every masculine gender ends with the letter "O". "Carro" (Car), "Lobo" (Wolf), "Urso" (Bear). 2) The subject of the sentence is "O seu carro" (Your car is). 3) The predicate is "muito bonito" (very beautiful). ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Another example: "As SUAS filhas viajaram ontem!" Translation: Your daughters traveled yesterday. Contextualization: 1) The definite article of the sentence is ''As" (The), Which is the plural version of "A", because it's a feminine phrase. 2) The subject in the sentence is "As Suas Filhas" (Your daughters). The word "Suas" with "s" means it is the pural of "SUA" (yours). 3) The predicate is "viajaram ontem". But, in that sentence there is a VERB: "viajar" (Travel). In the sentence it has "m" at the end of the word because that means it is also plural, but when the person is doing an action, like eating, drinking, walking... How is the use of the verb "travel"? - Eu viajo (I travel) - Você viaja (You travel) - Eles viajam (They travel) See classes on verbs, adverbs, how to create sentences and this will help a lot in your learning of Portuguese. 🤠

Dude. Question: You've made 9 videos in 7 years? Huh? Get with it, man! Suggestion, instead of a tedious paragraph about playing soccer at recess, why not a practical story geared to adults? I don't need to learn "fuh-chu-bow" and other schoolyard chatter. I need a practical step by step lesson for communication, and not about the office or school or are you Czechoslovakian. Things to say at a party, or holiday gathering, or just idle chit-chat would be invaluable. What say you, Senhor?

You have to use "Seu" for masculine words and "Sua" for feminine words.
Example:
"O SEU carro é muito bonito!"
Tradução:
Your car is very beautiful!
Contextualization:
1) The definite article of the sentence is "O" (The), because it is a masculine phrase. Every masculine gender ends with the letter "O".
"Carro" (Car), "Lobo" (Wolf), "Urso" (Bear).
2) The subject of the sentence is "O seu carro" (Your car is).
3) The predicate is "muito bonito" (very beautiful).
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Another example:
"As SUAS filhas viajaram ontem!"
Translation:
Your daughters traveled yesterday.
Contextualization:
1) The definite article of the sentence is ''As" (The), Which is the plural version of "A", because it's a feminine phrase.
- Eu viajo (I travel)
- Você viaja (You travel)
- Eles viajam (They travel)
