Holygore without going into massiva and beautiful detail as that is nixx's and nobbel's work, they would've just destroyed everything, no horde, no alliance, MAYBE azeroth would've survived the war of the ancients but the 3rd war would've been their end and draenor having the orcs as the main race would prolly either succumb to the fel or die in a futile attempt to defend draenor
i dont even think the orcs would've been mention in azeroth lore if not for the draenai arriving there. Its possible that the legion would never have even looked at it yet

szymon czajka after doing some research i can tell you that archimonde was just a figurehead of "justice" let's say, for he was already greedy before even sargeras appearance, if archimonde was to stand alone against the fallen prophet and the deceiver, he and the opposing draenei wouldn't make it out of argus
Magnificent. The quality of this work is nothing short of incredible. The deaths of loved characters, the failing battles against the growing tide, the many mysterious fates - all was masterfully delivered to us. Thank you for this! I do have one question: where was Velen and the Draenei in all this? Personally, I would imagine them venturing off into space, leaving the crumbling planet of Azeroth behind, desperate to find aid wherever possible. And then, just as the victory of the Old Gods would seem complete, the sky would crackle and shiver, heralding the arrival of the Burning Legion. Portals would form, green hellfire would erupt, and there would be fel-infused Velen, Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden, standing united once more. Their endless Legion of demons would let out a roar of battle as they charged forward, taking the battle to the Old Gods and the New Black Empire.
... a hope that would come from the most unlikely ally. As the old gods slowly spread to the south of the Eastern Kingdoms, last remnants of the Alliance had less and less ground to hold on to. It shouldn't have been. Realistically the Orcs shouldn't have had the manpower to simultaneously wage war on three continents - and win. The Orcs on Azeroth are either survivors of both the destruction of their world and the catastrophic losses of the Second War, or their children who were born into imprisonment or exile. Remember that It was only a few years ago when Thrall gathered them together and established Durotar, and it seems unrealistic that they still have the population to fight the rest of Azeroth on almost every front.
However, Garrosh's Horde allied with the Mantid. Even after our decimation of them, it can't take much time to recover if they do a proper swarm. Plus, he had the last remnant of the dead old god. He had all the resources he needed to have a shot at victory, and almost every enemy leader was in that battle. He wins the siege, he wins completely.
Great story. however I was surprised there was no mention of the burning legion. I would think at some point they would have no choice but to consider joining them.
At that point in time, the Legion would have no real chance of getting to Azeroth to fight the Black Empire, nobody there to really open a good enough gate for them. They would eventually arrive, but way to late to prevent Void Azeroth from awakening.
What about desperate defenders in Hyjal or Stormwind, before they are completely consumed? I'd imagine that some of them would be desperate enought or simply out of spite against Old gods. Also, what about Outlands? the portal is still working.
most likely, that portal would either be destroyed, or just plain inpossible to reach with all the twilight hammer's and the corruption that is spreading worldwide. Ironforge would of still needed to be in Alliance control for anyone to even consider making a run for the portal, but alas, that too fell.

You missed a point: the guy from Ulduar would call the Pantheon and purge the planet or at least Sargeras comes and cleaves the planet...cuz you know that guy has a weird fettish of just cleaving planets
I would have like to see the story continued after the old gods take over Azeroth the world would be consumed by the awakening of the titan soul to make a black titan then the titan would go out and seek more titan souls and maybe the black titan would come acrossed a world that the Legion just started to invade, As the black titan starts to corrupt the world and its titan soul, sargeras would notice the meddling of the old gods and fight the black titan which would end in a sort of draw with the black titan scratched or slightly wounded making the black titan to run away, But while on the run from the burning legion it would corrupt many world souls to make up the Pantheon of the black army which would face off against sargeras resulting in a great battle in the twisting nether which ends in the death of the titan sargeras and the whole burning legion leaving the realm consumed by the void
i would try to go through the dark portal, fughting the legion is far less terrifying than fighting the old gods, or i could even join the legion and then fight the old gods one day
this would be an amazing starting point for an x-pack playing as one of the last of your race stranded in a world overrun where the hero's have already lost
What a chilling tale to listen to before I head off to bed. It was a pleasure to hear both yours and Nobbel87 narrate in the very same video, as you both are fantastic storytellers in your own special ways.
I grew up with those heroes. With the tales and legends of Warcraft. This "What if..." made tear up more than it should. Especially when the Nightsong resounded.
I was hoping you would go into some info about the burning legion. it makes sense that we would willingly open ourselves to them to stop the coruption, even if it meant our deaths were less... purple
as I just watched everything again, I would like to question nobbel87 about two facts unsaid: noone said anything about outland, cause there ain't old gods influence. second, old gods hate each other, so they wouldn't team up vs azeroth, but their armies would fight one another.
I feel like this was very well written and the way you guys read this creation made me feel excitement and despair as i visualized their falling world in my own mind, love this series.

Thank you for this collaboration. :) I think, assuming the survivors know about it (I believe they would, given this happens after the events of WotLK) they would look to the Forge of Origination to try and activate it. Perhaps find a way to contact Algalon. Brann wasn't mentioned at all in the video, maybe he'd know something.
A magnificent story! The path it took all across Azeroth was incredible; slowly but surely the capitals fell, Northrend was lost, Magni was corrupted and betrayed his people and leading to Ironforge and Stormind's downfall. It was very interesting listening to how Baine, Vol'Jin, and Garrosh grew more apart as they did throughout Cata and MoP, and Baine's passing into the unknown seems to be a proper way for him to leave with his people. Most of all the music fit exactly the tone and mood that came to me while listening to the story and I could vividly incision this as an incredible movie "story," kind of like how the movie Logan is a different story but not the exact timeline of X-Men. @Nixxiom and @Nobbel87 , this collaboration story was a undoubtedly a half hour of alluring storytelling a world taking a previous stage back into its ancient Primordial Era, and how the free peoples of Azeroth gave their all to hold strong to their world, but doubt (even a slight hint) resided within every last one of them. It had grown to fester ever since they last heard the final cries of laughter of the former Black Dragon Aspect... Deathwing.
Well so far it sounds like the southern part of the Eastern Kingdoms is okay. Down there you have Booty Bay (maybe not because its a coast city), Nethergard Keep, Dreadmaw Hold, and most importantly the Dark Portal. That's two large fortifications to hold out a bit and a portal to gtfo and rebuild; also the possibility of reinforcements from Outland might be possible (Naaru, remnants of original Horde, and maybe some factionless demons after Illidans fall???). These are just a couple of things that I thought up while listening, can't wait to see some more videos like this! I love these "what ifs".
Pandaria wasn't discvered at this point, it was still shrouded in the mists. It was mentioned briefly in this, saying that Yogg'Saron would over run it :)
Nixxiom, Nobbel, you guys tell the best stories. You could do a "What if" story about anything and it would be epic. "What if" Cookie took over the Defias Brotherhood, "What if" Hogger took over Elwynn, "What if" the night elf players DIDN'T kill all those boars and cats in the starting zone... and it would all result in either Black Empire or Burning Legion.
I LOVE IT! My two most favorite wow content youtubers doing collab like this, er mah gerd. I know nobody really liked warlords of draenor, but i'd find awesome story of "What if we didn't stop the Iron Tide invasion". What if iron horde pushed and took over azeroth, how it would look, if they could really take over whole azeroth or not.
And then many many years later... FUCKING MALFURION returns from Outland after restoring the broken world with the help of the Naaru, turning it into a stronghold of Nature's power and uniting all the factions under one banner. He even even went so far as to have convinced the Wardens to move their prison to Outland with the help of the Naaru and Draenei who also followed him to Outland. He was the only one Elite enough to not forget about Outland and their Draenei allies. He also was so badass that he got the Warden Maiev Shadowsong to become his new lover and also to give up on Illidan and help him revive. The revival of Illidan and his Illidari was a success. Many years later, Outland was fully restored and Illidan had successfully destroyed the Burning Legion and taken over whatever forces remained in the Twisting Nether. The Council of the Black Harvest and their followers had managed to survive and make their way to Outland through the Twisting Nether before it was fully restored and joined Illidan and helped him in destroying the Burning Legion and taking over the remaining forces. -----THE FOLLOWING IS SPECULATION------ Many more years later FUCKING MALFURION and Illidan confronted Sargeras himself. Using the fusion technique taught to them by the Naaru P'ccolo, FUCKING MALFURION and Illidan merged together to become MOTHER FUCKING MALFURIdan. As one being they kicked Sargeras in the balls before killing him and taking his power as their own. Now as the ultimate being of the universe they led their forces back to Azeroth where they destroyed the Old Gods and their forces. They then located the remnants of the Dragon Aspect's power which was also the remnants of the dead Titans. Taking this power, and with the help of the Naaru they restored Azeroth to its former glory before also taking Elune as a lover, which was her thanks for freeing her from the Old Gods. Or maybe the people of Azaroth should have just used time travel to fix things. Just a thought :}

Illidari are weapons against the LEGION not the old gods. Khadgar is in the outlands, Wardens are on the Broken Isles, Legion wouldn't stand a chancce, and Bolvar wouldn't stand a chance.

You should do a what-if video about if the Horde never came to Azeroth! The Bronzes say the human kingdoms would eventually war amongst each other and Azeroth would be too weak to fight the Legion, but I think you guys would do a great job of finding why that is. Maybe Gilneas and Alterac team up against Lordaeron, which brings Stromgarde in, but Dalaran is on Lordaeron's side and Genn sees he's outmatched, and has Arugal bring in the worgen like he did for the Scourge? And I think the worgen curse might spread further and faster and be more destructive than the Scourge ever were. Plus, there wouldn't be paladins, since worgen aren't inherently dark, but more to do with nature. Just an idea, I'd love to see it happen! To be honest the only thing I think would Change / Add to this hole things is that I feel the people of Stormwind under Varian Wrynn and maybe some of their Dwarven / Gnome allies would see the encroaching doom, and flee to the dark portal before their destruction. Reasoning that a shattered world is better then a doomed one for a chance at life. once crossing to Draenor they would destroy the portal on both ends cutting themselves off form Azeroth, and giving some semblance of safety for a time.
Mhhm, maybe i dont remember correctly, but shouldnt the forge of origination in Uldum be still sort of active? Wouldnt someone maybe have the knowledge about this thing and just, well, wipe out all live instead of surrendering the slumbering titan to the old gods? At the time of the Cataclysm, the Zandalari are trying to ressurect the Thunder King and there would be no heroes to defeat him (they are already dead). I think he would subjugate the Pandaren and then roflstomp the Klaxxi with a combined Mogu / Pandaren army and his titanic powers (from Ra'den).

a very well written piece of fanfiction. It keeps punching you in the gut over and over again as our heroes and leaders fail as the they try to protect what the world they loved. It would be great if the actual wow story could capture such emotion.
What if Garrosh's Horde had won again Vol'jin's revolution? After all in Mythic you see Garrosh's vision of the future. Might be interesting working out the story between him claiming victory in his throne room to that conclusion. After all, it's not just alliance heroes that are on the wall, Thrall is there, Baine, Sylvanas..
You forgot the part were the people fled through the Dark Portal, Brann activated the doomsday weapon in Uldum and the creatures of Outland eventually migrated to Azeroth. In turn, the Legion seeing Azeroth as a already dead planet now ignored it for millennia until it had regrown. At that point they didn't even realise it was Azeroth until the end of their attack when they lost which would come to be known as Warcraft 4.
That was fucking awesome!!! I'd love it if you'd both think of a way for the Horde and the Alliance to win back the world in another story video like this!
Honestly I hope something like this happens in the next expantion with the old gods as we begin loseing ground slowly to the black empires spreading corruption and at the end of the expantion with the possible death of N'zoth all the corruption would immidiatly stop and pull back with the last of the old gods on azeroth dead as they no longer have a true grip on it but can possibly be resurrected by its remaining minions in a future expantion or whatever.
This was strangely sad to listen to, helped well on the way by Ysera's death song.. I'm gonna do my damned hardest to keep fighting for Azeroth! Well done

szymon czajka after doing some research i can tell you that archimonde was just a figurehead of "justice" let's say, for he was already greedy before even sargeras appearance, if archimonde was to stand alone against the fallen prophet and the deceiver, he and the opposing draenei wouldn't make it out of argus

I do have one question: where was Velen and the Draenei in all this? Personally, I would imagine them venturing off into space, leaving the crumbling planet of Azeroth behind, desperate to find aid wherever possible. And then, just as the victory of the Old Gods would seem complete, the sky would crackle and shiver, heralding the arrival of the Burning Legion. Portals would form, green hellfire would erupt, and there would be fel-infused Velen, Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden, standing united once more. Their endless Legion of demons would let out a roar of battle as they charged forward, taking the battle to the Old Gods and the New Black Empire.

Blasted Lands are overrun, black minions chasing the last of the alliance, corrupting or killing them, the Light abandoned them, the whole zone seemed to be in a blur, there was no sounds to be heard, just the wind and laughter. Laughter that did not come from anyone that served the Old Gods, it came from the figure standing in front of the portal, two red eyes glowing bright under its hood. Gul'dan, Darkness Incarnate laughed, laughed as he raised his hands; and above the portal a massive tear in the physical space opened and it started raining infernals, fel reavers, felbats, the Legion arrived, burning away everything the black empire had in the vicinity of the Portal. Felfire was the answer, the chaotic energies of the Fel born of Void and Light in the primordial pats of the Twisting Nether tore at the minions of the Old Gods; large Sentinax ships started warping in and raining down fel. The instectoids stood no chance, greatest generals of the Black Empire that pushed their forces in a final chase to wipe out the alliance were all burned. Nothing the Old Gods had on the Eastern Kingdoms could withstand the might of the Burning Crusade, the Dark Titan's final march had begun....

It shouldn't have been. Realistically the Orcs shouldn't have had the manpower to simultaneously wage war on three continents - and win. The Orcs on Azeroth are either survivors of both the destruction of their world and the catastrophic losses of the Second War, or their children who were born into imprisonment or exile. Remember that It was only a few years ago when Thrall gathered them together and established Durotar, and it seems unrealistic that they still have the population to fight the rest of Azeroth on almost every front.
However, Garrosh's Horde allied with the Mantid. Even after our decimation of them, it can't take much time to recover if they do a proper swarm. Plus, he had the last remnant of the dead old god. He had all the resources he needed to have a shot at victory, and almost every enemy leader was in that battle. He wins the siege, he wins completely.
Great story. however I was surprised there was no mention of the burning legion. I would think at some point they would have no choice but to consider joining them.

At that point in time, the Legion would have no real chance of getting to Azeroth to fight the Black Empire, nobody there to really open a good enough gate for them. They would eventually arrive, but way to late to prevent Void Azeroth from awakening.
What about desperate defenders in Hyjal or Stormwind, before they are completely consumed?
I'd imagine that some of them would be desperate enought or simply out of spite against Old gods.
Also, what about Outlands? the portal is still working.
most likely, that portal would either be destroyed, or just plain inpossible to reach with all the twilight hammer's and the corruption that is spreading worldwide. Ironforge would of still needed to be in Alliance control for anyone to even consider making a run for the portal, but alas, that too fell.

The Pantheon were gone at the time, so who knows, and the Legion would've gotten there too late, as they didn't have AU Gul'dan, etc.

I would have like to see the story continued after the old gods take over Azeroth the world would be consumed by the awakening of the titan soul to make a black titan then the titan would go out and seek more titan souls and maybe the black titan would come acrossed a world that the Legion just started to invade, As the black titan starts to corrupt the world and its titan soul, sargeras would notice the meddling of the old gods and fight the black titan which would end in a sort of draw with the black titan scratched or slightly wounded making the black titan to run away, But while on the run from the burning legion it would corrupt many world souls to make up the Pantheon of the black army which would face off against sargeras resulting in a great battle in the twisting nether which ends in the death of the titan sargeras and the whole burning legion leaving the realm consumed by the void

as I just watched everything again, I would like to question nobbel87 about two facts unsaid: noone said anything about outland, cause there ain't old gods influence.

I think, assuming the survivors know about it (I believe they would, given this happens after the events of WotLK) they would look to the Forge of Origination to try and activate it. Perhaps find a way to contact Algalon. Brann wasn't mentioned at all in the video, maybe he'd know something.
A magnificent story! The path it took all across Azeroth was incredible; slowly but surely the capitals fell, Northrend was lost, Magni was corrupted and betrayed his people and leading to Ironforge and Stormind's downfall. It was very interesting listening to how Baine, Vol'Jin, and Garrosh grew more apart as they did throughout Cata and MoP, and Baine's passing into the unknown seems to be a proper way for him to leave with his people. Most of all the music fit exactly the tone and mood that came to me while listening to the story and I could vividly incision this as an incredible movie "story," kind of like how the movie Logan is a different story but not the exact timeline of X-Men. @Nixxiom and @Nobbel87 , this collaboration story was a undoubtedly a half hour of alluring storytelling a world taking a previous stage back into its ancient Primordial Era, and how the free peoples of Azeroth gave their all to hold strong to their world, but doubt (even a slight hint) resided within every last one of them. It had grown to fester ever since they last heard the final cries of laughter of the former Black Dragon Aspect... Deathwing.
I've got to admit i truely enjoyed the joint effort on yahlls part was a amazing What if video keep up the great work :)

Well so far it sounds like the southern part of the Eastern Kingdoms is okay. Down there you have Booty Bay (maybe not because its a coast city), Nethergard Keep, Dreadmaw Hold, and most importantly the Dark Portal. That's two large fortifications to hold out a bit and a portal to gtfo and rebuild; also the possibility of reinforcements from Outland might be possible (Naaru, remnants of original Horde, and maybe some factionless demons after Illidans fall???). These are just a couple of things that I thought up while listening, can't wait to see some more videos like this! I love these "what ifs".

Pandaria wasn't discvered at this point, it was still shrouded in the mists. It was mentioned briefly in this, saying that Yogg'Saron would over run it :)

"What if" Cookie took over the Defias Brotherhood, "What if" Hogger took over Elwynn, "What if" the night elf players DIDN'T kill all those boars and cats in the starting zone... and it would all result in either Black Empire or Burning Legion.

I know nobody really liked warlords of draenor, but i'd find awesome story of "What if we didn't stop the Iron Tide invasion". What if iron horde pushed and took over azeroth, how it would look, if they could really take over whole azeroth or not.

And then many many years later... FUCKING MALFURION returns from Outland after restoring the broken world with the help of the Naaru, turning it into a stronghold of Nature's power and uniting all the factions under one banner.
He even even went so far as to have convinced the Wardens to move their prison to Outland with the help of the Naaru and Draenei who also followed him to Outland.
He was the only one Elite enough to not forget about Outland and their Draenei allies. He also was so badass that he got the Warden Maiev Shadowsong to become his new lover and also to give up on Illidan and help him revive.
The revival of Illidan and his Illidari was a success.
Many years later, Outland was fully restored and Illidan had successfully destroyed the Burning Legion and taken over whatever forces remained in the Twisting Nether. The Council of the Black Harvest and their followers had managed to survive and make their way to Outland through the Twisting Nether before it was fully restored and joined Illidan and helped him in destroying the Burning Legion and taking over the remaining forces.
-----THE FOLLOWING IS SPECULATION------
Many more years later FUCKING MALFURION and Illidan confronted Sargeras himself. Using the fusion technique taught to them by the Naaru P'ccolo, FUCKING MALFURION and Illidan merged together to become MOTHER FUCKING MALFURIdan.
As one being they kicked Sargeras in the balls before killing him and taking his power as their own. Now as the ultimate being of the universe they led their forces back to Azeroth where they destroyed the Old Gods and their forces.
They then located the remnants of the Dragon Aspect's power which was also the remnants of the dead Titans. Taking this power, and with the help of the Naaru they restored Azeroth to its former glory before also taking Elune as a lover, which was her thanks for freeing her from the Old Gods.
Or maybe the people of Azaroth should have just used time travel to fix things. Just a thought :}

You should do a what-if video about if the Horde never came to Azeroth! The Bronzes say the human kingdoms would eventually war amongst each other and Azeroth would be too weak to fight the Legion, but I think you guys would do a great job of finding why that is. Maybe Gilneas and Alterac team up against Lordaeron, which brings Stromgarde in, but Dalaran is on Lordaeron's side and Genn sees he's outmatched, and has Arugal bring in the worgen like he did for the Scourge? And I think the worgen curse might spread further and faster and be more destructive than the Scourge ever were. Plus, there wouldn't be paladins, since worgen aren't inherently dark, but more to do with nature. Just an idea, I'd love to see it happen!

To be honest the only thing I think would Change / Add to this hole things is that I feel the people of Stormwind under Varian Wrynn and maybe some of their Dwarven / Gnome allies would see the encroaching doom, and flee to the dark portal before their destruction. Reasoning that a shattered world is better then a doomed one for a chance at life. once crossing to Draenor they would destroy the portal on both ends cutting themselves off form Azeroth, and giving some semblance of safety for a time.
Mhhm, maybe i dont remember correctly, but shouldnt the forge of origination in Uldum be still sort of active? Wouldnt someone maybe have the knowledge about this thing and just, well, wipe out all live instead of surrendering the slumbering titan to the old gods? Many would rather leave scorched earth than be defeated!Apart from that...what if Lei Shen had never been defeated? Would his mogu empire stand against the legion?

What if Garrosh's Horde had won again Vol'jin's revolution? After all in Mythic you see Garrosh's vision of the future. Might be interesting working out the story between him claiming victory in his throne room to that conclusion. After all, it's not just alliance heroes that are on the wall, Thrall is there, Baine, Sylvanas..

You forgot the part were the people fled through the Dark Portal, Brann activated the doomsday weapon in Uldum and the creatures of Outland eventually migrated to Azeroth. In turn, the Legion seeing Azeroth as a already dead planet now ignored it for millennia until it had regrown. At that point they didn't even realise it was Azeroth until the end of their attack when they lost which would come to be known as Warcraft 4.
That was fucking awesome!!! I'd love it if you'd both think of a way for the Horde and the Alliance to win back the world in another story video like this!

Honestly I hope something like this happens in the next expantion with the old gods as we begin loseing ground slowly to the black empires spreading corruption and at the end of the expantion with the possible death of N'zoth all the corruption would immidiatly stop and pull back with the last of the old gods on azeroth dead as they no longer have a true grip on it but can possibly be resurrected by its remaining minions in a future expantion or whatever.
