I honestly believe the ability to wrestle well is mainly athletic ability combined with great technique and timing. The Physcial prowess is a must as you must be able to quickly and powerfully explode into different positions. Wrestlers are BEASTS

Awesome to listen to you guys talk through your experience of the spar afterwards. Its always such a learning experience, when you hear that your partner was seeing the whole experience from a different tactical angle than you were. Such a valuable experiential knowledge exchange. Great stuff

I may have seen it wrong but I wonder if that makes it harder to finish a double versus getting on the calves? I’m all ears please educate me I know nothing.

"shoot boxing (wrestling)"....so overlooked and ESSENtIAL for anyone looking to learn "self-defense" that WORKS. Most fights will quickly endup in grappling stnding and to the ground....the basics (boxing and wrestling)...maybe add some TKD... The rest is "exercise" or "sport"....though TKD obviously has it's "sport side"...as does Roman-Grecco...
Decent wrestlers are hard if not impossible for people not trained or trained in other arts to get them to the ground. :0 So damn strong....even high school wrestlers---college....
