Methinks you should show the settings on Pi-star to be able to obtain this.....Have been trying for weeks and I can't get the radio to talk to the hotspot.
Sorry mate, but that's not WiresX passthrough, it's just controlling the PiStar via WiresX emulation. WiresX passthrough works when you are doing cross mode, ie ysf2dmr and allows you to select TG directly from the radio instead of using the PiStar web GUI. 73 !
Hi, Thank you for the video. I am just about to buy a Yaesu FT991A plus a Zumspot hot spot to use wires x. Do you know if the Zumspot will work with the 991A or work as your video described. Thank you v
I am running a DVMega hotspot and am wondering if I can use that to connect to rooms and if you need a computer to connect to the rooms or can you just use the hotspot
Do you get good audio when listening your mmdvm hotspot on ft991a? I do get a muffled and slightly garbled audio on my ft991a, not when receiving other direct c4fm radios just when receiving the hotspot.
Same observation as you @narspt, have you had any suggestions? @JeepGuy91 no its not the hot spot's Tx, as connecting to the hotspot with a Yaesu FT-3 works just fine, it has something to do with the 991-A

@@vk4nga I've tested it with FT2D and it shows a menu for local news etc. This is what not happen with an MMDVM based setup. This is why I had this question. Thanks.
that's amazing just tried it on my FT991A and it worked! did not know you could do that...thanks!

Will this approach work with a FTM-400DR?
Yes it will. All Yaesu Wires X radios run a similar menu system.

No I don't, it's exactly the same as you describe.
@@vk4nga Thank you for confirmation. It's a shame c4fm on this high price radio is so poor...
@@narspt sounds like the issue isn't the Yaesu radio, but rather the hot spot's tx quality.

Am I correct you are on the 991 model? You didn't mention that. Does it work the same way with the 400 model?
Yes it's the 991a. It's similar on all models with the wires x capability.
When pressing X it just won't connect to hotspot...any ideas please it will connect to a repeater though

What happens if you press the GB XLX925 button?
It brings up a window that allows you to save to favourites.
