I love how for Beth Anne it wasn’t bc the cheating, it was only when she learned he was responsible for their daughters death that she decided to kill him and not just leave him
It wasn't just that he was responsible for their daughters death. It was that he LIED about it. And gaslighted her making HER feel responsible. So all of her suffering and self hate came from him. And she even gave him a last chance before going through with it. If he had only finally told the truth and shown a shred of decency, she would have let him live. But he didn't. He continued piling it all on her.
And helps April get out of what she's only just beginning to realise would actually be a bad relationship - April believed Rob loved her and would support her in her singing career, he starts talking to her about giving up singing to be a mother before she's even had the baby, when he proposed to her he lied about the reason why he'd be free to marry (I know it was messed up of Beth Ann to let him think she had cancer but still, he was planning on marrying her as soon as his wife left and acted in front of Ann like he was going to get a divorce) and it's pretty clear she didn't know that she wasn't the first one he'd cheated on Beth Ann with. Even though he wasn't going to run off with Mary, April needed to know that he wasn't a reliable or faithful man, even if they had gotten married sooner or later he would've started cheating on her like he was with Beth Ann. All three women are out of a bad relationship now. Mary's abusive husband can't get to her in jail.
