Hi Lee, I have no problems with AirDrop, but I normally only AirDrop small files, like photos, documents etc. I tried a 2.5 GB zip-file and it worked between my 10.5 iPad Pro and iMac, between my iPad and iPhone, but not between my iMac and my iPhone. I use the network for larger files.
It’s amazing what you can shove up the iPad’s USB socket these days 👍 when it’s not complaining about power or glitching due to a bad USB C hub that is 😅 it works great with USB sticks and card readers, all sorts of midi devices, keyboards, mice, HDMI TVs and even audio interfaces!
Before I even watch this I'm intrigued as I'm expecting delivery of a VERY similar device early next week! Hagibis Magnetic M.2 2230 NVMe SSD Enclosure with Magsafe.
I've always had problems with AirDrop especially devices not detecting each other. The only solution I've found that works most of the time is to turn off both Bluetooth and WiFi then shut down both devices for at least 1 minute and then turn back on the device, then turn back on Bluetooth and WiFi. Usually that fixes AirDrop for me and others I help.
Thanks Lee this seems like the solution to your problems of file transfer. Of what I hearing about Win 11 update that if your real nice to Microsoft they might let you transfer the files because all your files will be on the cloud weather you like it or not…😢! Have a great day!
This seems cool , but incase someone doesn't want to buy this item. Flashdrives work all the same way with phones. This just has the unique mag safe ability.
I can see that on your Andriod device, you are copying the video from the root folder of the ssd to the pictures folder, still under the ssd and it is not a good comparison. It should be from the Android internal storage to the ssd and vice versa. Just like what you did on the apple devices. IK that it will still be slow bcoz it is an old phone but atleast the scenario is still the same.
I saw this few days ago. Now it's live on your channel. I've used the Sharge Disk (upgradable NVMe drive) with my S21 Samsung phone during my last trip, love it. Enjoy your videos.
you can copy with ssh over the local wi-fi network

It’s random for me some days it’s fine
